"Sundan, Substitute! Mega Ring activate!" Shiranui activated the keystone on his Mega Ring and Sundan was surrounded in an orb of energy. The orb shattered to reveal a Mega Scizor and Sundan started to hide behind a decoy.

Shiranui scanned the Malamar. "Malamar, the Overturning Pokémon and the evolved form of Inkay. It wields the most compelling hypnotic powers of any Pokémon, and it forces others to do whatever it wants."
"Time to send out an old friend of mine," said Shiranui, "Sundan, I choose you!" He sent his Scizor out.

At the bottom, Shiranui saw Kage and down the hall behind the Gengar were three people. One was the Pyroar-haired man in a fiery red business suit, one looked like an almost-bald albino scientist wearing similar colours and the third—housed in what looked like a jail cell—was what looked like a giant disheveled homeless man. Kage retreated back into his Dusk Ball.

Shiranui nodded and noticed a few familiar faces among the knocked out grunts. "These are the guys we thwarted earlier," he stated, "Remind me to get Kage a Gengarite for his work." He spotted a long stairway leading down.

"Great job, Plasma," Shiranui praised.

"It's worth a shot," replied Shiranui, sending Kage out, "Kage, use Hypnosis to put the guys in red to sleep." Kage nodded with a chuckle and flew down the hall, hypnotising the grunts to sleep. "Liam, I hope you have Plasma handy," said Shiranui, "Just in case they have an alarm system."

"I certainly do," answered Shiranui.

Inside the Lysandre Labs, Shiranui noticed a lot of Team Flare grunts. "Getting past these guys will be tough," he warned.

"The Pyroar-haired guy will certainly know where it is," said Shiranui.

"What a cliché password," commented Shiranui, noticing that Lysandre was nowhere to be found.
