With the help of Higitsune, the heroes made their way through Route 20 back to Snowbelle City.
"Thanks," replied Shiranui, "Now that we at least gained their trust, we can make our way back to the gym."
The Zorua that was sceptical approached Shiranui and sniffed his hand. "Well, aren't you a cutie?" stated Shiranui, petting the Zorua. Zorua loved the attention. "I want to challenge you to a battle," the vulpine illusionist said.
"I accept your challenge," replied Shiranui, recalling Saisei.

After finding sufficient space in the village, Shiranui checked his Pokédex.
"Zorua, the Tricky Fox Pokémon. To protect themselves from danger, they hide their true identities by transforming into people and Pokémon."
"Yoto, I choose you!" The Aegislash on Shiranui's back drew himself out and faced Zorua. The villagers gathered to watch the battle that was about to start. "Yoto, start with Iron Defense!" Zorua let off a series of barks that Shiranui recognised as a Taunt attack. Yoto was unable to attack. "Alright then, Yoto, Iron Head!" Zorua charged at Yoto and struck the Aegislash's shield with a Pursuit. Yoto used his Stance Change ability to transform into his Blade Forme, pulling his shield away from his sword-like body. Zorua was hit by a thrust. "Yoto, Aerial Ace!" With a smirk, Zorua charged at Yoto and used Foul Play, delivering a blow that almost knocked the Aegislash out. Yoto performed what looked like a parry before stabbing Zorua with a blow. Impressed with Zorua's skills in battle, Shiranui prepared a Great Ball. "Great Ball, go!" He threw the Great Ball at Zorua and the illusionist was drawn in. After three shakes, the ball pinged shut and Yoto changed back into his Shield Forme.

"Welcome to the team, Zoro," said Shiranui with a smile.
"It'll be my pleasure," Saisei acknowledged floating to a spot in the village.

"Attention everyone!" the Mewtwo called out, linking everyone's minds so the humans can understand the Pokémon, "I would like to tell all of you a story of why humans are not the savages you think they are."
"Why should we listen to you if you're being trained by one?" a sceptical Zorua asked.
"Because I was like you once only much worse!" Saisei answered. The Zorua backed down and Saisei started telling his story.

"Between four and five years ago, a man named Dr. Fuji created me along with clones of a Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle and his daughter Amber. She was my very first friend and her death along with those of the other clones made me ponder as to who I was. Fuji panicked and put me into an induced coma with a tranquiliser and a serum that suppressed my emotions. Time passed and I grew up and regained consciousness. I broke out of my stasis tube and asked Fuji who I was, only for him to answer that I was made by humans and a genetically enhanced clone of Mew. I probed their minds and after seeing that they saw me as more of an end result to their project and less of a sentient being, I destroyed their lab in a fit of anger with the only survivor being Fuji himself.

"A helicopter arrived at the remains of the lab and a man by the name of Giovanni came out and offered to help me focus my power. He put me into a suit of armour and had me do most of his dirty work over the next month including defeating any trainers that challenged him for a badge. That was until this human—my trainer—gave me my first and only defeat. While I was recovering, I pondered over my destiny and during my very next battle, this time with my trainer's friend here, I saw him rescue his Duskull. This surprised me and after Giovanni ordered me to finish the battle, I peered into his mind and saw that he commissioned my creation. He saw me only as a servant and this angered me. I blew a hole in the roof of his gym and fled his tyranny, shedding the remains of my armour.

"I sought out my progenitor and found it in a cave near what the humans call Cerulean City. The two humans that challenged the gym that day showed up again and tried to convince me that humans were not as evil I made them out to be. Even Mew sided with them. Unmoved, I engaged Mew in a battle. My trainer's friend caught Mew after I threw it and I was annoyed at his interference. His words convinced me to see humanity for myself.

"I travelled around Kanto, seeing various trainers training their Pokémon and a quick peek into their minds told me the majority were cared for by each other and happy. The kicker was seeing my own creator care for orphaned Pokémon near a tower haunted by Ghost-type Pokémon. I sent a telepathic call to my trainer to meet him at the Moon Stone in Mt. Moon and we soon met again. I wanted to start my life all over again and the best way I thought of doing that was to pledge my allegiance to the one that defeated me in battle.

"The comparison between Shiranui and Giovanni was night and day as he gave me what Giovanni could never give: a bond that was strong enough to unlock a power I never knew I had. That power was something called Mega Evolution and I have found true happiness under Shiranui's care and guidance."
"Indeed he is," answered Shiranui, "Saisei, come on out!" He opened the Master Ball on his belt and out came the legendary Mewtwo.
"Hello you two," greeted Saisei, "To what do I owe the pleasure of seeing your faces again?"
"I'm thinking of someone who has two mega evolutions and was artificially created," Shiranui insinuated.
"I think I may know who can restore their trust," replied Shiranui, "It's a long shot, but I'm sure it can work."
Shiranui nodded, feeling sorry for the locals' distrust of humans.
"I'm Shiranui Tsukiko and this is my friend Liam Coleman," he introduced, "We're looking to challenge the leader of the Snowbelle Gym to a gym battle."
The heroes entered the forest of Route 20. "Higitsune, come on out!" Shiranui sent his Delphox out. "Higitsune, I want you to scan this forest and use Will-O-Wisp to mark the path to the other side. Can you do that?" Higitsune nodded and started gazing into the flame at the tip of his stick.
