"Safeguard!" Senritsu let off a brief glow in time for Froslass' Confuse Ray to brighten the stage.

"Senritsu, Hyper Voice! Mega Ring activate!" Shiranui activated the keystone on his Mega Ring and Senritsu's Altarianite glowed before the Altaria was enveloped in an orb. The orb shattered to reveal a Mega Altaria. Senritsu uttered a loud melodious chirp that was at the right pitch to shatter the ice, her Pixilate ability turning the move into a Fairy-type move and making it more powerful.

Shiranui called his Altaria out.

Shiranui defeated his semi-final opponent's Medicham.

Shiranui pulled off a close win after Senritsu evolved into an Altaria.

"Now, it's time for contestant #32! It's none other than the Champion of Kalos, Shiranui Tsukiko!" Shiranui came out on stage in formal garb complete with a navy blue tailcoat.
"Senritsu, I choose you!" He opened Senritsu's Poké Ball and lots of iridescent musical notes of varying durations came out before coalescing into his Swablu. "And now for something completely different!" Shiranui announced, "An appeal for the ears! Senritsu, start with Sing!" The Swablu took off and flew around while singing a tune that would lull her foes to sleep. A series of notes came out of her beak and floated around the stage. "Now, Disarming Voice!" Senritsu continued her song and this time bright pastel pink notes came out and interlaced themselves with the Sing notes. "Cue the Round!" The Swablu added to her song with a Round attack, adding some yellow notes. The notes that were shorter in duration than a quarter note attached themselves to form sets that totalled a single beat. Senritsu made the notes form a ring around the stage. "Now for the finale; Hyper Voice!" The Swablu flew into position and let out a very loud chirp, causing the notes to explode into sparkles and play a counter point. Senritsu landed on top of Shiranui's head as the trainer awaited the judges' verdict.

"That one was music to my ears."
"Swablu is remarkable!"
"Your Swablu is vocally talented. It'll be hard to get that song out of my head."

Shiranui woke up as well and got some practice in.

Shiranui knew better than to disobey a Nurse Joy and thus went to bed, excited about the coming day. He had admired the locals' lifestyle of living in the treetops with the only ground-level structures being non-residential.

That gave Shiranui time to think of what appeals he would do for the contest.
