"Numeru, use Dragon Tail once more!" As Arcanine charged at Numeru, the Goodra's tail glowed again as she readied another Dragon Tail, this time getting ready to hit Arcanine for a home run.

"Numeru, hit that Dragon Pulse for a line drive with Dragon Tail!" Numeru's tail glowed a bright cyan as the Goodra whacked the Dragon Pulse like a batter at the plate for a straight line drive.

"Sunakaba, return; Numeru, stand your ground!" Shiranui switched out his Hippowdon and sent in his Goodra. Numeru made no effort to dodge the attack and the Solar Beam connected. When the dust faded, Numeru was unscathed and in fact physically stronger thanks to her Sap Sipper ability.

"Sunakaba, Stealth Rock!" After Arcanine changed the weather, Sunakaba fired a salvo of rocks from the holes on his body. The rocks implanted themselves into the ground on Trevor's side of the battlefield, creating one of the most commonly-used entry hazards.

"Sunakaba, I choose you!" Shiranui sent his Hippowdon out and a sandstorm immediately started blowing.

Shiranui had beaten his opponent's Blaziken, Heliolisk, Magcargo, Froslass, Tentacruel and Blissey with Hoshi, Sunakaba, Zoro and Niwatori.

"Alright," replied Shiranui, deciding to put his psychic hunt on hold for now, "I'll do the same after you."

"I heard a giggle in my mind and I couldn't see any psychic Pokémon around at that time," answered Shiranui.

Shiranui was confident he'd make the top 32 and while he made his way back to the room he heard a giggle in his mind. He stopped to look around and did not see any psychic Pokémon in his vicinity.

Shiranui managed to arrive in time for the opening ceremony. He cheered when he saw Liam enter the stadium with the torch.
