Shiranui snapped into action and ran over to the challenger's side of the battlefield. "Titania, keep a watch on him and use Heal Pulse if necessary!" He let his Gardevoir out and the psychic fairy was scanning Neko's physical and mental vitals.
"Master, I know you're having a feeling of déjà vu," Titania commented.
Shiranui knew what happened in the event of a gym battle ending in a draw—if the gym leader thought the challenger battled well enough, the victory would go to the challenger.
"If Bide is released after taking all that damage, there's no chance Bulbasaur would survive," stated Shiranui.
"If Neko doesn't figure out a way around that Bind, he'll be defeated," stated Shiranui.
Shiranui arrived at the gym in time to see Neko's Bulbasaur take out a Geodude. He cringed when Onix used Bind. "That's gotta hurt," he remarked.
"Sounds good to me," replied Shiranui.
"Should I have mentioned that matching types doesn't win every battle?" Shiranui asked Liam.
"Mind you, they are strong against Fire, Bug, Flying and Ice-type Pokémon," Shiranui added.
Shiranui had his Pokémon healed while Neko questioned Liam about the gym. He had registered for the contest as well.
