Shiranui collected his Pokémon while he watched Smaug receive his present.
Shiranui chuckled at the remark knowing how much Farfetch'd like to carry their leek-like twigs.
While his Pokémon were healing, Shiranui looked up what the next totem they would face would be. He narrowed the possibilities down to four Pokémon after dismissing Dhelmise for inappropriate biome.
Shiranui did likewise, ensuring they were prepared for the next trial.
Shiranui chuckled at the well-timed interruption. His sombre mood was lifted as a result.
Shiranui understood what Smaug was going through and figured the Charizard needed time to mourn before they took on the Lush Jungle trial.
Shiranui made the call to alter the party—switching Okami and Tsuchi for Nayamashii and Honoh—when Prof. Oak informed him of Smaug's mother's death. The point was driven home when he felt various Pokémon surround him and offer their comfort.
"I agree," replied Shiranui. He knew Electric-type Pokémon generally had to regulate their electricity.
Shiranui was curious about the local variant of Raichu and looked it up on his Pokédex. "Raichu: Alola Form, the Mouse Pokémon and an evolved form of Pikachu. It uses psychokinesis to control electricity. It hops aboard its own tail, using psychic power to lift the tail and move about while riding it."
