Shiranui followed Liam down and saw the battle. "Now that we have the card, let's see what they're doing here," he stated.
Shiranui let Jean out and the Alakazam stated, "There's one more grunt here and he has the key card you seek. He also has a Zubat and a Koffing, which are no match for Sherlock or me."
"What the…intruders! Machop, wipe them out!"
"Sapphire, Zen Headbutt!" The Machop that came out didn't know what hit it as Sapphire knocked it out in one hit. The other Machop suffered a similar fate, but that one got to see what Sapphire was before a Zen Headbutt knocked it out.

"Very likely," answered Shiranui as he looked around for any more grunts that have yet to be taken down.
"We'll have to keep taking these guys down until we find that key," stated Shiranui.
Our heroes proceeded downstairs and was once again stopped by another Rocket whom sent out a Zubat. "Zubat, the Bat Pokémon. It has no eyes. Instead, it relies on its ultrasonic cries for echolocation to flit about in darkness." Shiranui responded with Tetsu. Zubat was KO'd with one Iron Head from Tetsu and the next Zubat fell in the same way.
A Raticate was sent out and immediately clobbered the Aron with a Quick Attack, though it only left a scratch. "Raticate, the Mouse Pokémon and the evolved form of Rattata. It whittles its constantly growing fangs by gnawing on hard things. It can chew apart cinder walls." Tetsu used Iron Defense in time to fend off a Bite attack that left a scratch. Tetsu used Iron Head to knock Raticate out and a Koffing was brought out. "Koffing, the Poison Gas Pokémon. Lighter-than-air gases in its body keep it aloft. The gases not only smell, they are also explosive."
Koffing tried to use Clear Smog to nullify Tetsu's Defense boost, but the Aron was immune to the attack and a critical Iron Head took Koffing out.
Last was a Grimer. "Grimer, the Sludge Pokémon. Appears in flithy areas. It thrives by sucking up polluted sludge that is pumped out of factories." Grimer tried a Sludge attack, but Tetsu shook it off. The Aron used Take Down and Grimer barely survived the hit. Grimer used Mud Slap and despite the move exploiting a double weakness, the damage was minor although Tetsu was rendered partially blind. Tetsu sunk a Metal Claw into Grimer and knocked Grimer out. Tetsu had evolved to a Lairon after sweeping the Rocket's team. "Lairon, the Iron Armor Pokémon and the evolved form of Aron. It loves iron ore. Groups of them fight for territory by bashing one another with their steel bodies."

"This place appears to be one of their hideouts," she stated to both her trainer and Liam's minds, "A key is required to get to level B4 and the rest of the grunts will have much of the same Pokémon as this guy. Just be careful of their Raticate if you plan to use a psychic like Sherlock or me; otherwise you'll be fine." Shiranui figured a criminal team like Team Rocket would have more than one place to hide.
