Current Sorry for how absent I've been lately, there's been much irl stuff going on recently. A real emotional rollercoaster tbh. I should be back in action come February. Thank you for your patience.

Am I obsessing over a story that hasn't even passed the Interest Check stage...? No....?

@AuragreediaThis should hopefully answer both your questions about the story:

The people that remained after this disaster can be categorised into three main types:
-Humans: Who remember life before the war and saw everyone basically die in front of them.
-The Experiments: They remember life from the war onwards. If they were a soldier they remember the gruesome battle side of it, if they were used politically than they remember the politics of the war more than the deaths.
These people can be seperated into three seperate categories:
Experiments X, Y, and Z.
Experiments X:
Were the original experiment, the foot soldiers. Nothing more than physical changes, typically anthropomorphic due to the immediate bonuses with mixing human and animal dna (strength, speed, agility etc).
The second round of experiments X, were the much more human looking people, yet with some superhuman characteristics like super strength, bulletproof skin, advanced metabolism etc.
Experiments Y: These were the secret experiments, only discovered when people started asking questions about Z's and why they skipped Y. Y's were outlawed during the last three months of the war. These beings were indistinguishable from a regular human, yet the mind had been elevated for extremely precise and powerful purposes, including hypnosis, telepathy, false self-inception, language fluidity etc. They were used as political figures, the faces that purely served their nation's interest.
Experiments Z:
Dangerous, for the most part. These were the last of the created species, the rushed out half bakes that lead to the end times. They had abilities that were not just enhanced or spliced from other beings, but things that had never been seen before. Whether they could tap into camera systems with their body, or teleport themselves or even others across nations, perhaps they could use their hands to change the chemical composition of things around them. Whatever it was, these impressive abilities didn't help end the war, but instead end the world. Now it's time to fix it.
-Lastly is the transmutants. These creatures were ordinary humans when the war was waging. But ended up being the second biggest cause for humanity's collapse. After a few rushed experiments were released into the field, some airborne viruses and pathogens were released as a side-effect which for the most part only caused regular cold and flu symptoms. But one in a hundred would go through an excruciating change in their body and their mind, down to their cells. Not fitted to be called human anymore, these beasts ravaged the public spaces they were in and took out anyone who weren't affected by the airborne diseases or the casualties of war. Very few maintained their consciousness, but that's possibly a curse more than a blessing, now with the challenge of having a new form and those that were left of humanity struggling to trust them.

The Title 'New Humans' is one that the people of Trexist give themselves, no matter which category above they belong to. They want to move forward as one united people. Calling any particular group 'New Humans' would diminish that. (At least that's the mindset of the people when we start the story anyway.)

Sure! Just one example should be plenty, send it to me in PMs if you could. sounds like you'd fit in great here anyway!

Hey guys! This is just something I've been planning in the background for the past few hours. I have much more information regarding this story but don't want to just paste a giant wall of text so lemme know if you have any questions! I'm super keen to get this story going!
Welcome to Earth, with thousands of years of human civilization, and its history, that has all been brought to ashes.
A few years back the world was blossoming with hundreds of countries, billions of people, and still plenty of life left to live. Yet with humanity doing its job of looking after so many people, it brought more stress onto what resources were available. The stress was too much for some countries and some started to pressure others into giving them more supplies. It's not clear which one started it, but this inevitably led to another war, now with technologies advancing so far that the first set of successful human experiments were deployed as soldiers. This led to an outbreak of so many unnatural phenomena that civilization and the world as we knew it started to crumble. In the span of nine months the world went from a population of nearly ten billion to under three thousand.

Welcome to the Age of Survival.

The world is still Earth, yet no one really calls it that anymore. Yes some might find pockets of lush, green, deep forests where some animals still survive (but hardly the ones we used to know), but most of the land is barren dust and destroyed buildings, with very few civilizations throughout. One of these civilizations are a small group named Trexist. This is where your character will be, or end up, otherwise they are on their own.

Races:
Call them humans, andromorphs, experiment x, or whatever the governing bodies that led these projects wanted to call them, at Trexist everyone is known as New Humans, disregarding the titles that were given by those who brought this destruction to the world whilst also shedding light on what is hopefully a renewal for this world.

What is the Trexist?
This civilization has a direct aim to find as many of these new humans as possible and grow their civilization to eventually expand over the entire world giving Earth a second chance. But that isn't going to be easy, there's no more shops for food, there's no more power for internet or technology outside of the central hub, and very few animals available. The harvestable or working animals that have been caught or found are restricted for breeding purposes, and won't be in use or used for a few more years.
A filtration system has been set up that the creek which cuts through Trexist passes through, suppling the civilization with clean, free flowing water free of the pathogens and viruses that otherwise contaminated it.

((Looking for interested writers who can do at minimum half a para per character. One liners do have a role, just not in this story.

Story:
This will be a free flowing characters-actions-lead-the-plot type of story, starting from Trexist. This is my first time GM-ing so let me know if what I'm doing is weird, or wrong, or weirdly wrong. Small occurrences won't need to go through me but major ones (like a nuke dropped on Trexist) will. As for the wild creatures that are probably going to be the biggest threat to the Trexist, I am going to give free reign for you guys to come up with whatever you can. I will input as well I'm not throwing that responsibility but I want you guys to have the free will to create what monstrosities you can think of.

I would appreciate this to be an 18 plus playerbase, while keeping it clean (we're in a forum). If two romantically involve characters do want to play out 'those types' of scenes go for it but in PMs. I don't want to diminish a story from developing but we want to keep the story alive and not banned. If relevant lore is revealed or occurs that others should know about just let us know in OOC.))
Thank you, that already clarifies heaps!
That's okay! You've still bet me to making a thread on here haha.
Tbh 'rules' should have been the word I used instead of logistics, just wondering the scope of what kinds of powers would be allowed, how much does the morph change how they look? If heaps, do people still recognise them? Are villain OCs allowed? That kinda stuff.
@Azure Bubbles same here. Would need more info (more logistical stuff) to decide. 1x1 or small group?

Edit: Six hours after asking the question, I realised it's a dumb question. You literally put 'small group' as one of the tags
Hi there!!! I've actually been NEEDING to make a werewolf rp for a while, if you manage to get a small group or if you're willing to go 1x1 I'm totally down for it

I second this motion! Would be a ton of fun to get a werewolf rp going!
I have a question though, @Pascal you said you prefer plots without romance, is that just planned romance? Or don't like romance at all in stories?
"Thanks." Was the appreciation she gave before immediately starting to pick the packs up. They were thin clear rectangular pieces of plastic, the long side being only six inches in length, with what looked like different coloured crushed chalk inside. "If you want" Allux shrugged, already with five in hand, "They're food packs. I was in the process of restocking my ship when I ended up here. I'd already paid for them, so I'm not letting them go to waste."
When checking for injuries, the only physical signs of what has happened were the blood on her snout and a slight bump on the back of her head. "Yeah, a little... I doubt it's enough to be concerned about." Allux answered a little distracted with everything that was going on in her mind.
