Bio

Greetings,

I am Jb; Briton by birth, roleplayer by my own hand, and lover of literature. I am also an amateur historian, a receiver of a Bachelors degree in Ancient and Medieval History - quite a useless degree, actually - and would like to think that I'm a fair, honest and open guy.

As far as RP'ing goes, I'm pretty open to most things really, all you need to do is ask! :)

So, if you've ever any questions for me, wish to speak about RP's involving myself or run by myself, or simply feel like a chat, don't be afraid to get in touch.

Simply this...

An island the size of the two islands of New Zealand put together, with similar flora and fauna, inhabited by multiple tribal peoples distinguished from one another by their beliefs, their customs, dialects and so forth.

It will be up to the player to craft this tribe - all human in nature, but all different - into a power strong enough to supress or conquer their neighbour(s).

Diplomacy, war and trade will all play a part in this and, as GM, I shall be throwing in some random events along the way to spicd things up a bit.

There will be no stats (though that might change, depending on participants), but I do expect a fair NRP in cases of warfare (likely to be more like skirmishes, at least to begin with) and not power blocing together straight from the off.

Pretty much covers it for now, if you've any questions then feel free to ask them - I try to answer as quickly as I can.
Tried this idea once, here, it didn't go too well, but I wish you the best of luck!

Operation Osiris, Thousand Sons avatar and signature...I'm sure the RP will be excellent.
@AtrophyYou get the reference, therefore you shall be killed last! Congratulations!

Seriously though, at some point - if Hemi is not dead by then... - I will be re-enacting the entire scene from Commando where he takes out the compound; not a bullet wound in sight, and a knife fight with an old comrade.

An NRP of the 'Peloponnesian War'

I'll make this short and sweet - this is an NRP based around the poleis or city-states of Ancient Greece, starting with the siege of Potidaea and ending when it ends; of course, we shall be using the technology and so forth of the period, I would like to clear up a few points though...

1. I do not expect everyone/anyone to have a PhD in Classical History, if you're unsure of something then just ask! I don't expect every single detail of the period to be described, or anyone to use Ancient Greek terms/language - if you wish to, that's up to you.

2. This thread is for claims, claims on which city-state you'd like to represent IC. Each city-state was different, by dialect, by origin, by deity honoured above others, and much more, so although everyone is human and there's no fantasy elements in this RP, no one city-state is exactly alike.

3. If you're gonna be Sparta (head of the Peloponnesian League), Athens (head of the Delian League) or Thebes (head of the Boiotian League), then please have a good grasp of the city-state and all surrounding it.

4. I will be allowing 'fringe factions' I.E. Odrysian Thrace, Macedonia, Illyria and so on. Claim them if you wish!

5. Battles will be conducted in a way that I'll explain when/if this NRP takes off from a mere interest thread.

6. Try not to look on this as a chore, I'd like this NRP to be fun while still retaining a historical flavour, just not at the expense of making it seem like a dry historical lecture.

7. That's all for now, please see below, and feel free to put in claims for a nation/tribe/or city-state - the Persian Empire is mine, however, so not that. ;)

If you have any questions, please do ask!

Makarid bled abit. "ow" he said. Then he bled some more.

I jest, I'll try and get something up soon. Boxes in with cath-up work, but should have some free time tomorrow.

You're a funny guy, Kingfisher, that's why I'm gonna kill you last.
Exactly what sort of system - stat wise - will you be using for this RP?

I effing hate numbers, especially during RP's, but I'd still like to participate if possible.

Depending on your answer, I would like to claim:

Great Britain
New Zealand
Canada

Assuming that 'the Commonwealth' is not connected to GB in this RP; if it is, then replace the latter two with Belgium and China.
There are eleven apparent participants in this RP, let's clock up some posts, people!
As stubborn as a mule, and as aggressive as a rabid wolverine, Hemi listened to the self-elected leader of the group - Misses Medical Marvel herself - and then, once she had disappeared into the confines of the Apox once more, opened his ears to the similarly bullshit speech of Red Head. He decided to silently watch everything, remaining as motionless as a statue save for his eyes and nostrils, looking over the group carefully and probably going through the same thought process as a big cat on the savannah, selecting the weakest of the group as potential meals - in spite of his reputation, however, he actually only ate human flesh when he had to...not that that had stopped the media or the courts from demonising him by any means that they could.

From what he could tell, Red Head and Medical Lady were not all that different, really; both were armed and thought themselves well above all others because of it, both were slight women that likely would not last long without said weapons, and both thought that they were the fucking leaders of the group. The truth was that neither of them, save by the authority of their pistols and that alone, had any sway over the group at all! Hell, El-Eli-whatever had threatened him, them decided to ask him for help...who the fuck does that?!

No, he decided, he would not leave the group but he didn't have to help them either. If they wanted food and water, then they could go and get it, if they decided to move somewhere - somewhere away from the wreckage would be a good idea - then he would follow them, track them and generally observe them. Intelligent he may not be, not in the way that he admitted most of those present were, but he was cunning...and patient...very patient.

If only he had been born in a different time, in a different place, he would have made a fine chief! Sadly, for now, he was stuck here in a forest in God knew what country with several wounded inmates, a handful of seemingly mentally sharp but bodily inferior specimens, and two women who seemed to believe that they were the worlds fucking gift to this dishevelled assembly.

As his old dad used to say, and he was full of useful phrases and proverbs, "Hemi, my boy, fuck 'em."
I think Hemi might just stay outside, breaking necks with one's bare hands is quite tiring ye know!
@JulienJaden Alas, no. You're the starter, the rest are mains and dessert.
