Quick questions @LetMeDoStuff: What year is the RP set in? and what is the "Six" the character sheet refers to?

Ignore that, that was a mistake I had as I was talking about another RP at the same time. Just a small mistake on my behalf.

The Year is FY 47, as the time goes.

Welcome to the City of Reflection, a behemoth of glass, devoid of colour and freedom. Citizens live in an easy life of control and allow the Conglomerate of Cascadia to pull their strings without any effort. People are born, educated and sent to work, just like that, without a care in the world. No excitement; no freedom is truly held. It's here where people come forward and live a life that their master's deem worthy of their criteria. Every man, woman and child follows a schedule like no other, making sure they live to how they are told to in order to maintain the false belief of order and stability. Watchful eyes from security firms and police industries scout out and watch the walls, streets and buildings they are sworn to protect. Everyone lives just how their puppeteers want. Well, that is unless they are a Runner.

Though technically being considered a messenger service that bypasses the security systems of Reflection, Runners are the freest of them all. They live in danger, difference and damnation by scaling the rooftops and underbellies of the city with fast movement and quick traversal. For many years, they have laid low in numbers and only remained as a small fraction of cells determined to get by with their own accord taking direction. Many come and go, others caught going against the system during some of the more questionable deliveries. However, for as long as they have remained active, Runners have been widely considered a mere inconvenience in the Conglomerate's side. They were generally not considered a threat and were never treated as such. In most cases, the Security forces and Runners left each other alone and made no contact to avoid any escalation in conflict, minus the odd arrest or two. Runners continued in silence, freely doing what they did best: Scaling the world. Although this perfect harmony was envisioned by the Conglomerate and the Runners sought out freedom in the wind, a clash was sure to come. And now, in Reflection, times are about to change drastically.

When Gabriel Raymond, member of the South-Cell of Runners, came across documentations during what was supposed to be a by-the-book Run, he discovered corporate plans that were preparing to ridicule the masses under their control. Within an instant, the news spread like wildfire throughout the Runner network and confusion arose. Many of the small cells banded together in consolidation to meet and discuss the implications of Gabriel's discovery. Many argued against investigating further and resuming their duties as Runners to avoid raising tensions whilst a select few pushed for taking action. What was in those documents were only known to those of the original meeting, but due to the rumours and information regarding the documentation's possession spreading so carelessly, it wasn't long before the all-seeing eye of the Security forces discovered of the incident.

March 25th, also known as Red Morning, became an infamous date throughout the streets of Reflection. What started out as a routine arrest from highly-trained armed Security Enforcers to obtain their stolen goods once more and silence the Runners who knew about it ended up descending into a bloody showdown. Within minutes of infiltrating a Runner meeting, violence broke out and shots were fired. Breaking the laws of peace, the Runners fought back in futile defence, trying to make their escapes. Hundreds of Runners were killed on that very day, alongside hundreds more Security and Civilian personnel, sparking the ultimate breakdown of prosperity. Now, Reflection hangs in the balance of a war between the Runners and Security forces of the Conglomerate, all whilst the controlled life continues daily.

It had been two years since the Red Morning of March. Gabriel stood as one of the few lucky members able to surpass the hunts. VTOL crews and patrols scouted rooftops and eliminated hundreds, if not thousands, of Runners who were still trying to make their honest freedom worthwhile. From groups of fighters to stragglers hiding in the shadows, they were brought to their knees, imprisoned or mostly killed off by their aggressors. Runners had been deemed an illegal perpetration of national law, which was enacted in others cities like Glass, until the final verdict came through. Anyone who was associated with the practice of Running was to be arrested or executed depending on the severity of the charges. All Runners were deemed to be a threat of order. Gabriel could not stand for such violence and formed his own Cell, known as the Doves, to combat and give refuge to Runners in need, whilst simultaneously training up his own batch. Without the jobs they used to do, there was only one grand use for these new steps in the evolution of Runners: a Resistance to avenge the Fallen.

As one of Gabriel's own, follow on the conspiracy and take arms against the Security forces. With fists clenched, guns armed, blades drawn and tools brandished, all that stands in the way of truly securing freedom is the City of Reflection itself. Will they take flight and uncover the truth behind the Conglomerate's plans or will they become just another name amongst those of the Red Morning?

Welcome to the world of Mirror's Edge, where you and I will be taking up the mantle of Runners in a new city in Cascadia. Completely separate from any of the plots of the franchise, the new take on the story will see a darker, grittier battle between the Runners and Conformers of the Conglomerate's system. By instigating violence against their foes, the true struggle for survival begins right here, at home. As you can expect, everyone will have a main character training and surviving within the Doves under Gabriel's protection. Eventually, they will be plunged into the life they wished to stray from and battle it out with firearms, handheld weaponry and speed itself to break down their chances of defeat. However, depending on how the RP is received, the options to make secondary characters within the Runners and/or Security Forces is a viable option for all who wish.

You will notice from the tags that we have the precautions of 18+, Slice of Life and Casual + Advanced selected. Allow me to explain them. 18+ refers to the tone of the Roleplay. Mirror's Edge has always been quite restrained on the violence of the world, only showing the more pacifistic natures of Faith during her story. However, blending into the Slice of Life category, characters will not always be focusing on the running they subject themselves to. In-between the act of leaping from rooftop to rooftop, they will have to learn to live, cope and struggle with their fellow Runners, whether that means having strong and violent disagreements and hate conditions, or developing romance, they must life live whilst uncovering the conspiracy itself. And finally, Casual + Advanced is pretty obvious. At a minimum, this is a high-casual/low-medium advanced RP, so depth and story development is a requirement for this character narrative.

I look forward to seeing where this RP goes and hope to share it with both fans of the series and/or anyone who is interested in the concept of the scenario. Remember, don't stop running!
Okay, I'm intrigued. I loved Mirror's Edge, and there premise is interesting.

If you're still looking for interested members, count me in?

I am always looking for interested members. The OOC shall be up soon
So by the fact it's been 11 days since my post with nobody else stepping up, I have to assume that this RP is dead? If a couple of people still linger and want to continue i'm well up for it.

I plan on continuing this, but I have not heard any words from others. Let me chase it up.
Gonna try and get it out either tonight or tomorrow. Fingers crossed, lads!
@LetMeDoStuffAny update on the OOC?

It's in the works. I really apologise, I've been ill for the week and hope to get it done in the next few days at the latest.
Sorry for the delays! Next post is up for grabs!
Again, sorry for the short posts. We will get back up to schedule soon.

Wall Maria - Shiganshina District

A shudder shook the very foundations of the earth below. It caught him, everyone in fact, off guard as they were preyed down upon by prying eyes dressing them in seasoning. Bone-ridden fingers tightly grasped onto the concrete edges of the wall. For a minute, the world fell silent. The birds stopped chirping. The men and women stopped singing and talking. All eyes rested upon one another as an innate fear shot through every breathing soul. Grant, equally as confused, scared and bewildered, on-looked from the back of his trusty steed before finding the sensitive and natural reaction to shudder, quivering within his worn out boots. The saddle he sat upon jingled and shook alongside its rider. A minor twitch reminded the walls that there wasn't a frozen, motionless boy sat upon this stallion, but instead someone who was very much prepared to abandon his position and leg it in whatever direction he could. An audible chatter of teeth grinding against one another in synchronisation intoxicated the masses within the street, baffled by the sight before them. What was this? Was this some sort of illusion? Perhaps the sun and air were only playing crude tricks upon the uneasy settlers below? As unlikely as it could be, Grant begged in his mind that this was some sort of sick joke.

Without any effort, the wall's gate smashed open with immense power, sending debris and carnage in all directions. Grant's eyes became darker, unsettled by the sights of random pedestrians being engulfed by the falling concrete rain. Excretions of blood started to stain the floor like a coat of old paint, smelling just as bad. Screams and cries of suffering didn't take long to pounce around the alleyways and streets. Grant, however, remained still and pondered the imagery in his mind. Maybe a bad dream had just kept him pinned down? A cold potato or uncooked portion of beef could be ruining a night's sleep? But it was all very real. The stench, the sights and the sounds could not be artificially recreated within a child's mind. Everything looked terrifying, satanic at the least. What was he to do?

For several minutes, or at least one could predict, Luca and Grant remained on their horses, unknowingly watching the world tick by. They pinched themselves several times to ensure that this was just a dream but were disappointed to find that they could feel every ounce of pain each one caused. Many citizens ran past them, rushing towards the opposite direction of the beasts. Soldiers flew above, going in all directions and attempting to guide whoever they could in the right direction. All whilst this was happening, Grant and Luca remained atop of their brave stallions that seemed barely unhinged by the mass genocide that engulfed them. Grant shuddered, before looking away, tears weltering up into his eyes. They needed to gallop, ride with the wind, and find whatever they could. For once, his mind seemingly forgot about Mateo.
