At first Robert's Digivice didn't do anything. Then it began glowing softly, heating up to near-unbearable levels. It first took on Dorumon's colors-- a purple-blue, silver-white, and black-- but then unexpectedly shifted to black and gold. Norn seemed a bit surprised, but said nothing before leading them to what was a surprisingly normal cafeteria... except for the fact that each and every person eating or serving food was a Digimon. As Norn and the humans entered, two Digimon stationed at the door produced trumpets and (somehow) blew on them.

All of the Digimon abruptly stood at attention. However each and every Digimon was shocked at the sight of humans... and abruptly charged the group, chattering excitedly. Really, it was like a group of children swarming the star of their favorite TV show or movie.

"Humans!"

"So the stories were true?"

"You owe me twenty bits for saying they were a fairy tale!"

The entire situation seemed a little ridiculous to Ryūko, but also absolutely adorable.

For the first time since they'd met her, Norn actually lost her temper: "I am not a fairy!" For a brief moment her eyes changed from sky blue to a glowing red, and flames seemed to ignite on her head. In less than a heartbeat she'd reverted to her normal self. She cleared her throat. "Please follow me. If Dorumon is your partner, Robert, then your D-Terminal should react to his presence if he touches it." And so she led the way into the village.

"Oh, Lady Norn!" Once in the village the "dog" that Ryūko had seen bounded towards the group excitedly.

"Oh, good day, Labramon!" Norn said politely. Labramon came to a screeching stop just short of the girl, panting excitedly. Norn scratched the dog behind one of his ears. "Has anything eventful happened today?"

"Nothing yet, my lady," Labramon replied. He began sniffing at the humans, tail wagging as if he were a real dog. "So these're those humans that Agu and Wolfy found yesterday, huh?" He cocked his head to the side. "They smell funny."

"That's no way to talk about our guests!" Norn chuckled. Something about her tone seemed to agree with the dog Digimon's assessment of the humans though. "Anyways, we are here to determine whom Yggdrasill has decided to pair them with. Everyone is at lunch now, correct?"

"Yes, Lady Norn." He gave a dopey, panting grin to the humans. "I apologize for my rudeness. My name is Labramon, and I help patrol the borders of Nyttliv. Pleased to meet you all!"

"Oh my, Dorumon!" said Norn. She showed a bit of surprise, but only about as much as if a next-door neighbor had dropped by unannounced. The exchange between the Digimon and the humans was… less than pleasing to her. "Please, calm down. This is a Digimon, a Digital Monster."

"Really? I think we all got what you meant with just the word 'Digimon'." Ryūko shook her head. "So anyways, we have to partner with one of these? Seems okay, so long as they don't snark."
