Name: Amelia Hawkins
Age: 29
Year: First Year as a Professor for Potions.
Gender: Female House: A Graduate from the house of Ravenclaw
Magical Heritage: A mother who was a witch, and a father who was a muggle.
Backstory: As a child, her mother had always told her that she was gifted. Though in the eyes of those who classified themselves as normal, she was quite peculiar. From her youth, she found that more than anything, she possessed an affinity for books. Having spent the majority of her life in her father's study surrounded by knowledge beyond her wildest dreams, thanks to the affluent wealth of her family, there was not really ever a struggle she had to partake in from her younger years. In fact, some might say, (even she) that she was rather coddled by an overprotective mother and father alike. All that changed however, with her eleventh year of life, and she received a letter from Hogwarts. Instantly immersing herself in the knowledge and study of magic, she found that above most things, she held a preference for two subjects in particular. Potions and Herbology, for drawing out the latent power that herbs and plants seemed to hold so secretively drew her raptured attention. While receiving good marks in all of her other subjects, never once were any of the former below an Excellent or an Outstanding. Graduation from Hogwarts went smoothly, receiving both extraordinarily commendable marks and even recommendations from her former potions Professor to work at Diagon Alley in some of the most prestigious practices that lined such a marketplace. And there, until her late twenties, she worked quite contentedly until the former professor retired. And who, did he think was best to replace him? His old treasured apprentice, of which she naturally took up the challenge more than happily. After all, it is her duty he surmised, that she pass on her excellence to younger generations. Personality: Coy, cunning, and witty, sometimes the other faculty occasionally has the difficulty of understanding if she is serious or not. Despite that however, she truly cares for her students and fellow compatriots alike; even sometimes going out of her way to offer a potion or two to help focus the studies of others to insure that they pass, or graduate. Time to time, she can be rebellious, but that is only when she believes the cause she's defending is truly worth it, both her time and wits.
Wand: Redwood with Unicorn Hair, eleven inches.
Personal items and pets: She possesses a pet in the form of a small arctic fox, named Felix. Ironically, he can be oft found lounging lazily about her neck, and very much asleep. In terms of personal items, she also has a Potion Master's kit, of which is filled with an amazing array of pre-prepared herbs and solutions.
Special Gifts and Abilities: Voiceless Casting - like many of the professors, she is quite adept at NOT announcing her intentions via the use of voiceless spellcasting. Patronus - Her patronus is in he shape of a larger spiritual Fox, nothing too complex about this. Potions Master - Within her mind is an almost encyclopedic knowledge base of potions that she can make. That aside, she still uses references since sometimes on rare sequences, she is prone to mistakes.

Name: Mark Crane
Age: 30
Year: Teacher, 1st year
Gender: Male
House: Was in Ravenclaw until he quit
Magical Heritage: Mudblood
Backstory/Personality: When he was a child, every time he got too angry things around him started to move. At first they just vibrated or spun, but as he got older the items got bigger and moved faster. His parents, believing he must be possessed by a demon, took him to their pastor to get rid of the demon, but, though it would go away for a few days out of fear, it always came back. Because of this he didn't have any friends, so he spent his time reading and studying, sneaking other books, including comic books, when his parents made him do "bible study".
When he was ten his 22 year old cousin, Philip, came home to visit from where work had transferred him, in London, and brought his pregnant wife, Violet. When he left he had a proposal for Mark's parents: let them take Mark with them back to England. Because they were afraid of Mark, Mark's parents let him go, relieved to get rid of the "devil child" that had ruined their lives.
About a week after he arrived in England he saw Violet's wooden "hairpin" lying on the table during one of his tantrums and picked it up, only to cause a blue flash of light that threw him backward. After that they had no choice but to tell him about the magical world. Once he had learned to not knock himself down when using Philip's wand, an old one of Violet's, they took him to Daigon alley to get his own wand, as he would be sent to Hogwarts in a few months and they wanted him to study before he went there so he wouldn't be too far behind. After a few months at school, he realized that, while his wand excelled at charms and healing spells, it was practically worthless at curses, jinxes, and the like.
When he was a Junior he used his knowledge of Wandlore to make his own second wand. Though it wasn't of very good quality, it was three times better at jinxes and curses than his other wand.
School was boring, so when he turned 18 he apporated to London and, after getting his GED (or the Brittish equiviilant), to New York to go to tech school. After he got his RN license, he returned to London and got a job as an assistant healer at a clinic in Diagon alley. He finished his studies with his aunt who was authorized to teach remedial magic, and when he finished he applied for a job at Hogworts and got one teaching Charms, as well as one advanced class, medical charms, which is only open to students in the last two years of school..
He studies situations to look for weaknesses. Prefers the study of theory to the practice of actual spells.
Wand: First: Ten and one half inches, Unicorn hair core, Cherry wood; Second: Ten inches, Kelpie hair, Oak
Personal items and pets: His Patronus, a Wolf, is treated like a pet. He keeps it summoned most of the time and it follows him around.
Special Gifts and Abilities: Healing, Charms, Protection, Levitation. He can move small objects (up to a kilogram or two) without a wand.
Name: Remington Black
Age: 15 (5th year)
Gender: Male
House: Ravenclaw
Magical Heritage: Half-Blood
Quidditch position: Chaser
Personality: Remington is a typical pubescent boy. He likes to chase girls, and in return, he slacks on his studies, at times. He's a quidditch fanatic, however, and dreams of playing professionally some day. Who needs to know potions and things of that nature, when you're going to fly on a broom for the rest of your life? He has been in detention more times than he can count, and over time has found that it can be fun, especially when assigned to help Hagrid with his duties at night. Remington's only true passion, besides quidditch is taking care of his little sister, Ava. She's out there in her own world, and he's seen the looks that people give her on a daily basis. They look at her like she's dangerous, and with the sorting hat nearly putting her in Slytherin, he had his worries. However, she couldn't hurt a fly - and wouldn't if she could. As long as he can keep her on the straight and narrow, he's done his job.
Assets: 12 inch hawthorne wand with a phoenix feather core, and a Great Horned Owl named Marx.
Special Gifts and Abilities: He's charismatic and good with the ladies, changing girlfriends like he changes socks. He's a good flyer, and a viciously passionate quidditch chaser. He's almost worry free, like Ava, but not as whimsical. Nothing really gets to him, unless she's sad.
Name: Ava Black
Age: 11
Gender: Female
House: Ravenclaw
Magical Heritage: Half-Blood
Quidditch position: Seeker (but not yet)
Personality: Ava is very whimsical in nature. She sees the good in everything and everyone, and sometimes can be found attempting to converse with animals and other magical beings. She's good with owls. They seem to want to sit next to her after delivering their mail for a bit of a scratch and a small conversation. Ava is passionate about magic, and wants to learn everything she can. It has made her seem a bit off to herself, to most people, and for that, she is sorry. However, when she's a great witch (or teacher), no one will make fun of her any longer.
[ b]Assets:[/b] 11 inch english oak wand with a phoenix feather core, and her screech owl: Rainy.
Special Gifts and Abilities: She's gifted with animals, talking to them in between classes as if they're old friends. Who knows if they can actually understand her? Either way, they make her feel like she belongs. She's an amazing flyer - possibly setting her up to play Quidditch. Because she's whimsical, she doesn't get stressed out at all, and is a great listener to her fellow students. Though, she may be staring off over your shoulder at an invisible creature that only she can see (make believe creatures).

Name: Roy Archer
Age: 15
Year: 5
Gender: Male
House: Ravenclaw
Magical Heritage: Half-blood
Backstory/Personality: Roy was born to a witch mother and Muggle father. He was the fourth of five boys. While he felt his older brothers' accomplishments overshadowed him, they felt he was very spoiled and an attention hog. Both were somewhat true. It was around the time that he was seven that he managed to find something to make him stand out on his own. His talent for arts showed itself in his classes at his Muggle school. His father was so excited to have one of his sons be talented in something he could understand (as much as he did love the idea of Quidditch), he encouraged Roy to become the best artist he could be. His mother spurred him on by charming some of his better artwork into moving and talking, just like their photographs and paintings. Eventually, it came time to go to Hogwarts, and Roy couldn't be more excited to make his parents as proud as his brothers. At his sorting, he was instantly put into Ravenclaw due to his active mind and vivid imagination. His classes were simple enough. Everything seemed relatively straightforward, though potions was some trouble. However, he excelled in Transfiguration. He made plenty of friends, though plenty of students were put off by his perceived arrogance. In third year he tried out for the Quidditch team, hoping to join his brother but failed spectacularly. He doesn't like to talk about it ("Football's more fun anyway"). He's put his energy elsewhere, his art and duelling. Though he is not exactly a top-tier duellist, his duels are entertaining if nothing else. Roy's mind is always working. He likes to think in different ways, approaching ideas from several angles. He tends to comprehend and visualize more abstract concepts better than many people. Because of this he is a skilled artist as well as talented at Transfiguration. This also means that his mind tends to wander. Left alone with his own thoughts, he could ignore the rest of the world for hours. He generally has people around to bring him back down. When he's interacting with people, he's generally friendly. However he's used to drawing attention and can be pretty arrogant and boastful. Growing up with four brothers ensures he's made of some tougher stuff. He's never aggressive, but he knows how to take an insult and physically hold his own. That's good, because his tendency to flirt with whatever pretty girl he sees has put him in a few predicaments with angry boyfriends.
Wand: Hornbeam and Unicorn Hair, 12 1/4 inches
Personal items and pets: A small moleskin pouch. He and his brother share an owl. A black-banded owl named Fletch
Special Gifts and Abilities: He's got a good brain in his head and he knows how to use it. Transfiguration comes naturally to him, and with some extra study he's honed it with finesse and precision. He's a talented artist, in most mediums though he prefers drawing and painting.
Name: Toby Griffin Webster
Age: 11
Year: First
Gender: Male
House: Ravenclaw
Magical Heritage: First in the family to have wizarding powers. (Muggle born)
Backstory/Personality: It all really started when Toby turned two, all sorts of unexplainable things would just seem to 'happen'. His parents 32 year old Colton Webster a videogame designer and mother, 30 year old graphic artist Becky Webster were rightly perplexed. They would be walking with Toby and all of a sudden the tot would be holding some kind of candy or be petting a kitten. It wasn't until they caught and watched Toby the little rascal making his food (spinach) disappear that they realized that this boy was special. Being the rare breed of parent they were the two decided that Toby would not be treated any differently and they would allow him to decide how he wanted his future to go. The future was decided when Toby found out that he could -if he believed and concentrated hard enough- make anything happen! Instead of trying to abuse this Toby instead sat down and started trying to control it, to keep it from controlling his emotions. He was very successful, other than the skill he had Toby grew up as any other British boy would. He enjoyed sports playing rugby and football mostly, but he also loved anything to do with getting his brain active. As he grew older Toby found that he had a problem learning, or for better explanation he didn't learn things the way others could. For Toby he had to take everything in and formulate everything himself. This meant that it took a long time, sometimes even weeks to totally learn something. However, once he did learn it he never forgot it. Almost like a photographic memory of things he thoroughly picked apart and put back together. Toby is also a very caring person and constantly sticks up for the guys getting bullied in school which of course meant he came home with a lot of bloody shirts.
Wand: Supple 11 inch, Cedar, with Ashwinder Ash core. This wand was in the very back of the wand makers shop when Toby went to buy his gear. The shopkeeper said that it was a somewhat rare core.
Personal items and pets: A black and white spotted kitten named Castiel that his parents gave him.
Special Gifts and Abilities: Toby is very adept at defensive magic, including other white magic like a patronus and the such. He also takes a long time to finally get a spell 'down' sometimes even taking a month. But when he gets it down he can perform it very well.

Name:
David Saint-Vincent
Age:
15
Year:
Fifth
Gender:
Male
House:
Ravenclaw
Magical Heritage:
Pure Blood
Backstory/Personality:
David was born and raised in Brittany, France, in the small port village of Auray in the quarter of St-Goustan. It is said that his family, the Saint-Vincents, were among the original founders of Auray and perhaps Brittany itself, and that they escorted Benjamin Franklin to his visit with Louis XVI when he landed at Port St-Goustan by accident, though the history books might officially tell another story. His upbringing in Auray was peaceful and picturesque, though this image was sometimes infringed upon by David's many experiments. Once, when he was only 5, he managed to get ahold of his parents potion ingredients and infused a raven with the gift of song, or rather, the gift of singing one particular song, The Striking Adventures of Lanny Flynn the Little Witch," which coincidentally was the title of his favorite book. The song itself is said to be one of the most annoying ballads in all of musical genealogy and some forlorn wizards have actually tried erasing it from existence through various unsuccessful magical endeavors. The singing Raven plagued the town for months until David's father was finally able to capture the wayward fowl and charm it into silence. Little David was aghast at the idea of getting rid of the bird and thus Singer became his permanent friend. Every now and then, the Raven starts to sing and must be silenced by placing ones hand on its beak.
The various experiments and eccentric plots continued throughout his childhood. His mother, a Ravenclaw, understood the eccentricities of her son. His father, a Gryffindor himself, didn't always understand his son, but loved him nonetheless. When David received his letter to Hogwarts and was sorted into Ravenclaw and not Gryffindor, his parents were neither surprised nor disappointed. His father would have liked for his son to be in Gryffindor like him, but he had fallen in love with a Ravenclaw and so Ravenclaw couldn't be a bad thing.
Throughout his first years at Hogwarts, David shunned potions, a sad affair since his professor recognized Davids aptitude for the craft, and instead focused on different types of magics. He liked runes, and learning magics that revealed truths and secrets. His ongoing project is to develop Fillius Flying Flees, he's still working on the name, which would be small magical constructs that could spread out in all directions, gather various tidbits of information such as what people were doing and, perhaps more importantly, what was going to be had for dinner. He feels that he is close to a break through, the latest Fillius Flying Flee construct lasted all of two whole seconds and let him know that it was cold outside. David mused that, while being told that it is cold outside when you are outside in said cold might not be very helpful, it was a very good indicator of his progress.
Because of his Ravenclaw nature of being eccentric and "odd," he can sometimes tend to persist as a recluse. Not anti-social per say, but preferring the comfort of his books and experiments to the constant upkeep required when indulging in such trifles as social conversation. He is mostly kind, though defensive when it comes to personal questions and can be very secretive. He has no qualms about refusing to speak to someone and often ignores people he doesn't like.

Name: Gary Shinawatra
Age: 17
Year: 7
Gender: Male
House: Ravenclaw
Magical Heritage: Half-blood, but Muggle-raised. Wizard Father, Muggle Mother.
Appearance: At the 17 years old, Gary is a fit, brown-eyed young adult. He pays a reasonable amount of attention to his black hair. His skin is slightly darker than Vincent's, but his eyes are less slanted, coming from his father's side.
Backstory/Personality: Gary was born to a Thai Muggle and a British Wizard, who divorced two to three years after his birth. Oddly enough, Gary ended up taking his mother's last name after the divorce. His father is a weatherman for the channel 8 news and only visits him on his birthday. His father also enjoys traveling and buying things as he travels, such as wands. Unfortunately, his father doesn't research much about the different properties of wands, so the quality of wands he gets seem to be random.
Vincent lives with his mother in a more suburban area of England, in a decent house. His mother works as an accountant for a major bank. In his suburban neighborhood, he was moderately educated, though pushed to his limits in academics by his mother. He tends to suffer from stress, anxiety, loss of hope, and an odd feeling that if he didn't do as good as he did in school, his mother wouldn't love him. At times, he feels as if his worth is based on his deeds and works hard to prove himself worthy of love. At other times, he scavenges every shred of love he can find, taking up a bunch of easy tasks and meeting new people, trying to impress them and putting away hard work. Because of this, he had a small emotional problem and quite a few incidents that take away from his chances of becoming Head Boy or a prefect.
Despite his father having impregnated two women and leaving them to fend off for their children alone, Vincent's mother and Gary's mother are good friends, so Gary is quite close to his younger half-brother Vincent, as to quit the formalities of calling each other "half-" brother, and just to call each other brothers. Perhaps it's because they never got the displeasure of living in the same home. In fact, he knows how much his younger half-brother admires him, so he's willing to do anything for Vincent.
He speaks English and a bit of Thai, altered due to being in born in Britain and mixed with slang. He is not a big fan of sports, as his parents also tended to be unathletic and clumsy, so he won't take much part in Quidditch and the like. Aside from his unathleticism, he tries to work out from time to time for a body he can show.
Wand: -- Nine-inch black inflexible Kaya wand. Krasue entrail core.
(A Krasue entrail core is a rather exotic core that comes from Asia, particularly southeast Asia. This core gives it a faint smell of vinegar. This core is typically used by dark wizards, and like dragon heartstrings, are quite strong. It's not too good with potions, but a skilled potion-maker could easily bypass that disadvantage. Considering its properties, it might be a weaker substitute for an acromantula web core wand, but of course, not so powerful as to give access to the Imperius curse. Due to the torturous creature it comes from, it gives a mild boost to jinxes, hexes, and curses. It also makes the user more greedy and lustful.)
Personal items and pets: A rooster he named "Foghorn Leghorn" off of the Looney Tunes cartoon. It makes a very annoying crow in the morning.
Special Gifts and Abilities:
Gary is very intelligent. He would excel in subjects such as potions and arithmancy. He also has a talent in jinxes, hexes, and curses, not that he would ever use these unless he was encouraged and prompted to. On the other hand, his quest for self-worth gets in the way of his progress. He's okay with a broom, as he eventually learned a little of how to use it through practice and repetition, but not as good as Quidditch players.
He knows a little violin.

Year: 7th year

Backstory/Personality:
Cleo always has to start something new, at the very least be number one at it. She pushed herself beyond normal limits as if to compensate for her lack of pure blood. The day that she finally got to go to Hogwarts was the best day of her life. Finally she could be taught how to use the magic that had been all around her growing up. And she would be the best at it, Determined to explore the world of magic Cleo felt split between the land of the mortals and magicians. But what if it didn't have to be that way, it was modern day, right? Anything was possible so why not just put them together. With that brilliant idea Cleo finally knew what she would focus on for the rest of her life. A life of modernization for the magic world.

If spots are still available she is on the quidditch team, maybe the head captain.
