I wish I could like, laugh, and thank a post all at the same time.
@Not Fishing Alright I'll play...

I looked through quickly and My guessessss arreeee...Anne and Dairmud? I don't know...Seems like there are several possible good/bad combinations...

You're mostly right. I wouldn't say Dairmud is in the top two. But I think she would be #3.

Darius - Lauralin, Oriana, or Anne

I think Anne and Laurelin would be Darius's top two (I'd say they're both equally suitable, but for slightly different reasons), but Oriana is not on my list at all. They may be from the same area, but they seem to have very little in common and little reason to actually get along.

My Arthur ships are Dairmund, Rhoslyn and Anne,

LE GASP

We're shipping our characters with the same people. Although I'd say Rhoslyn would be the fourth most likely for Darius.

I'm also friendshipping Ciara and Orianna - I think they'd get along well.

I'm friendshipping Darius with Arthur, and any of the four candidates I came up with if they don't end up his Destined. Is anyone enemyshipping?

@Tackytaff The first post in the characters tab doesn't count. There is 12 males and 11 females at the moment.

I think that's what he was saying, hence "there should be an odd number." Currently there's twenty-four posts, and we need twenty-five.
Ick Anne is like the ultamite buzkill.

Darius could probably out-buzzkill her.

Edit: Well, that's probably an exaggeration. I think it'd be a tie, really.
Honestly, Darius's top two should be pretty easy to figure out just by comparing character sheets.

I'd like to see some people successfully guess them, so I know I'm not too far off.
I've got three people in mind for Darius. And a fourth that he might settle for if the other three end up going to other people.

I actually gave it quite a bit of thought, taking likes, dislikes, personality, fear, and backstory into careful consideration and looking for similarities.

It also probably helps that I have a set of unwritten likes/dislikes for Darius in my head, which I left out because I either didn't think of them at the time or didn't want to make the list too long.
You forgot an a.

Oh, no, no, no. He wasn't knighted at 14. In the backstory I said 'half a year past'. That means it was half a year ago. So he'd have been 18/19. That's 4 or 5 years in training. And as for how he got knighted so fast... well, I'm assuming there's some blood-status bias, as well as him actually being at least proficient in his skills. I admit I didn't quite do as much research as you on the topic, but it's just if he was any younger, then I'd start doubting how anchored my character actually is.

Oh, I read 'passed' instead of 'past'. Sorry about that. Yeah, that's far more believable. I don't know if there's historical precedent for squires being knighted 2-3 years early, but this world clearly isn't meant to be a 100% exact mirror of medieval society. Due to the magic, fictional countries, and such (and the festival where the royal children might have to end up marrying peasants.)
Why do I feel like Oriana might have an idealistic image from her dreams when she sees Elain? After all, he has shiny things, and he does have a horse.

The same could be said of Darius (though he isn't wearing full armor, and the shine might be dulled by looming memories of her parents' bankruptcy.)

Actually, I've been meaning to ask you Myst - how did Elain get knighted in half a year? Historically, knights had to spend several years as a squire (I'm 80% sure the minimum amount was seven.) I don't see how he could apparently be so good that they'd knight him at 14, which is the age that one typically becomes a squire.
She wouldn't blame him. She would blame the crown more than anything since they're the ones that decided to go to war, basically lost, and then chose to over tax the peasants to make up for it. But her priorities aren't really politics and government. I'm pretty sure her village knows Darius's family or at least rumors a bit, since they are the local lords.

This actually raises a question I had.

Deyinger - in Orewyn, is it the monarchy that decides taxation or is it the local lords? I would assume that the lords automatically send a portion of the taxes to the royal family no matter what, but I would like this to be clarified.

Edit: Also, yeah, the people of Elkwood would know Darius's family well. Especially because Elkwood is usually placed in direct control of one of the Baron's relatives (either one of their siblings or one of their children) to manage it for them. Ideally it would be given to the heir, so they can gain experience before inheriting the barony as a whole, but in Darius's case this didn't happen because he was still serving as a squire by the time he reached a reasonable age, so instead it was given to one of his siblings to manage until Darius could complete his knight training and take the position himself.
