No problem. And you're not being a pain. It's fine.

I'm still here. Can't speak for Cubix but I'm pretty sure they're here too. College has been requiring more of my attention recently as the semester is almost halfway through. I'll try to post but worst case scenario I won't be able to post til Thursday. Probably won't be the case though.
Nathan had began to start doing some of the dishes when his phone went off. Not wanting to get his phone yet, he decided to finish washing the dishes and dried his hand on a towel before checking his phone. "Great, I'll see you later." he had texted back. He was glad that James had agreed to come over. He wanted to talk about Vanessa and Rachel. Mostly about how he was thinking about ending things with Rachel. While she was a nice girl, he just didn't feel anything more than a baseless physical attraction and her ditsy personality drove him crazy at times. It wouldn't be fair to either of them if he just kept going with that. While he was enjoying the fact that he was finally seeing a girl for the first time since he graduated from high school, he'd prefer to find a girl who would keep him on his toes, someone who really understood him.

On the other hand, ending things with Rachel will probably fuck things up between James and Vanessa. Perhaps the girls weren't as petty as that, but if James had a real shot with a girl, Nathan wouldn't want to be the one to screw it up. Plus, Vanessa would probably end up beating him up for hurting her best friend. Maybe the easiest thing for him to do was to scare Rachel off with his dirty little secret. It would probably send her running for the hills, but Millington was a small town. Word would spread and who would want anything to do with him if they found out? Better not say a word.

Nathan sighed as he thought about everything. He forgot all the drama that came with seeing someone. He was hoping that James would give him some decent advice or maybe ask Vanessa about how Rachel felt to gauge out where this was all going.

Nathan was startled when his phone went off again. However, instead of a reply from James, he had gotten a text from Rachel.

"Hey sweetie! Are you free today? Do you want to take me shopping?" the text had read.

Well, it was a good thing that he had made plans. "Sorry... James is coming over. We're having a bro-afternoon," he texted her back in a matter of seconds.

"Aw... fine... I'll go with my other friends then. Have fun! Miss you! XOXO"

"Uhhuh, I will. You have fun too."

He wondered if she had noticed that his texts had been lacking lately. If she had, she hadn't made a big deal about it. But it was a pretty good hint that he was no longer into her.

Aware that he still had some time before James to arrive, he went back to his room and laid in his bed for a moment. He began to play some music on his phone as he waited.

"I think I'm done fooling around. Geez, I'd never thought I'd ever think that but maybe I should focus on starting something serious," he sighed to himself. "And I should get rid of that nasty habit of mine." He glanced over towards his closet that had a lock on it to ensure that no one would ever see what was behind the door. But he knew that it was going to be hard to for him to quit, not when he enjoyed himself too much.
Saturday, March 25th

It has been about two weeks since the whole Kylie fiasco and it seemed that life was moving on. Kylie had been sent somewhere to get help, the Reese's family had hired a new girl for the diner, and things were running more smoothly. Nathan felt bad about the whole thing but could do no more than lend his best friend an ear if he felt like ranting. On the up side, Melissa was a great help to the diner which left James with more free time to relax and hang out. In fact, Nathan was just about to invite James over to his apartment. It's been a long time since James' last visit and it was way too awkward to hang around the Reese's place.

Nathan had woken up at 9:00 a.m., which was pretty early for a Saturday morning. He was unsure of whether or not his friend was awake, but decided to text him anyways. "Hey, want to come over if you're free today? I have nothing to do," he texted. After he finished doing his morning routine, he looked around the apartment to see if he should clean up a little. It'd be rude to have a messy apartment when you're inviting someone over. And even if James wasn't coming, he should probably do some spring cleaning anyways.

There were some dirty dishes on the floor along with some empty ramen containers. It wasn't too bad... but maybe he should also vacuum the place, just in case. He took the dirty dishes and put them in the sink to wash later. Then he grabbed the empty ramen containers and threw them into his trash bag which was dangerously full. "Guess I should take out the trash while I'm at it," he thought to himself. He somehow managed to tie the trash bag up and carry it to the dumpster out back. Once he got back inside, he went to look for his vacuum cleaner in his closet. He hadn't vacuumed in an embarrassingly long time so it took him a while to dig it out from behind all his other junk.

"Aha!" he exclaimed as he finally found it. He plugged it into the wall outlet and began to vacuum. When he had finished, he wiped some sweat from his forehead. Now all he had to do was spray some Febreze and do the dishes and then he'd be done. He went to the kitchen-area of his apartment and poured himself some orange juice. All that 'work' had made him thirsty. As he drank his juice, he wondered if James had gotten his text yet...
Welcome to Millington. This roleplay is a 'spin-off' of the original Secrets roleplay that was run by The Muse. The link to the original roleplay is here: Secrets

This is a 1x1 featuring two of the characters from the old RP, James Allen, soon-to-be Jessica Alice, Reese and Nathaniel Carr.

James/Jessica will be played by @Saint Girralo while I will play Nathaniel.

I don't really know what else to put here but I'm sure no one will read this so I guess that's it then.

Anything is fine, but Kalani probably would want to choose someone who definitely does not look like she will kill her husband. Watching that once was enough for her.
Kalani Solle

Bride of Cuwarr Naxremis, Sister-bride to Sorici Amberra and future sister-bride of Amalia Solair

Kalani listened politely as Cuwarr began to talk about the Gemminites. He spoke with such admiration that Kalani could not help but smile. She enjoyed listening to him ramble on about her people; perhaps it made her feel a bit more at home. She kept quiet as to not interrupt him for it seemed like he also really enjoying telling stories.

But Sorici was acting rather strange. She seemed to grow more impatient and irritated as Cuwarr continued to speak. Until he brought up his dear mother, and that was when she finally spoke up. Her venomous words shocked Kalani and she hoped that none of the other drakkens had heard her. Did her sister-bride have a death wish? That sort of behavior could get her killed in an instant. Kalani's face paled as Sorici mentioned her name but could not squeeze a word into the intense conversation between the two. Before Cuwarr could defend himself, Sorici swiftly apologized for her behavior, but Kalani was not convinced. Something about the gem seemed off...

Suddenly, Sorici grabbed the knife and lunged at their husband. Kalani screamed at the sight and began to feel faint as she saw the blood running down his neck. She screamed once more as Sorici hit the wall. One thing led to another, but somehow Sorici managed to flee with her life. Kalani watched as the arrows seem to change direction just before they hit the mark. Had he let her live?

Cuwarr had ordered her to come with him in a tone that he had never used towards her before. She obeyed and followed him back into their chamber. It was silent and tense. She did not know whether to approach him or let him be. When he finally broke the silence, his voice was filled with pain. To her surprise, he had given her the choice of leaving him.

She could return to her family! Her life could return back to normal as if these past few days had been nothing but a bad dream. This was her chance! So why was there this feeling of hesitation inside her heart? He was a drakken! His people had done nothing but torture her people! They were monsters, brutes and savages! But Cuwarr... He had been nothing but kind to her so far. She could not say that she loved him, but as he stood before her, revealing his vulnerability, she also could not say that she felt nothing for the drakken.

Without giving him an answer, she picked up the ointment and bandages that he had dropped onto the floor. "Let me tend your wound, mi'lord," she said gently. She tried to apply the ointment as carefully as she could but could not control the fact that it probably would sting him a little bit. "I'm sorry. I hope that didn't hurt you too badly," she apologized.

Then she helped him put on the bandages. Once she was done, she gave him a small smile. "You are still covered in blood. Let's get you cleaned up. You still have to find another bride before we leave for your home." She took his bloodied hands, not caring that her hands would now be dirtied with his blood, and led him towards the washroom.
@Cubix Can't wait :D ; And Kalani would definitely be there as a witness. She'll probably be upset as she was just getting along with Sorici.
@Belle Welcome to the family!
After listening to Hali's birthday wish, Kaffir had to resist the urge to roll his eyes. That girl sure had a wild imagination. Then again, they were hanging out with a robot that can only understand logic so in a way they balanced each other out. "It is what it is," Kaffir said, shaking his head. "Maybe try to come up with an idea that doesn't involve leaving the planet. Whatever your crazy head comes up with, Eli and I will just have to do our best to get it."

Kaffir stood up to stretch his legs. It was almost time for their school to let out the other kids who actually showed up which meant that they didn't need to hide in the dark alley for much longer. Because he had been sitting there all day, he could already feel his leaves starting to wilt. He should probably catch some sunlight before the day ends. If he didn't, his mother would probably try her weird "artificial light" fad on him to ensure he has the proper amount of light energy he needs. It surprisingly worked, but it usually left him feeling all weird inside and he did not enjoy it.

Brrrrriinnnnnggggg!

That was their cue. School was officially out and they could come out of hiding. Kaffir waited a few minutes until he heard the stampeding of feet on the sidewalk. Then he waved over to his friends, as if to say "Let's go." He took the lead and did his best to slip into the crowd of high schoolers. His complexion had brightened up to a nicer green as the sunlight hit his face. It felt really good.

He stood out though. A speck of green mixed in with all the other more neutral-colored children. It didn't take long for someone to notice him. It only took a moment before Kaffir felt someone pull on his shirt and another moment for him to hit the ground.

"Hey Plant-freak! What do you think you're doing here? Go back to the stupid dirt where you belong," sneered a human boy that was around his age.

The other students that were watching began to snicker. Those who were maybe kinder and felt that the discrimination was wrong, were quiet and simply turned their heads away. Some of the guys were kicking the gravel of the sidewalk onto him. "Plant Freak! Plant Freak! Plant Freak!" they chanted.

The impact hadn't hurt Kaffir too badly, but they did a good job of ticking him off. The boy that started this whole thing was Brad Mallard who was notorious for bullying those that weren't humans. Brad also had the ability to rally the other students into bullying the aliens and/or robots. Kaffir didn't run into him often so today really was his unlucky day. The best thing to do was to take it until they got bored and moved on to something else. If Kaffir got into a fight, he would be the one to blame even though he was initially the victim. He'd seen enough of the news to know how these things worked. He bit his lower lip and did his best to ignore them. But in his head, he was cursing them all. Stupid, fleshy humans.
