At midnight the guard made sure that everyone was in their rooms. They patrolled the halls until six am. Then an alarm went off through the halls. The guards would drag anyone who wasn't up out of bed. They would be told that they had to be dressed within an hour. Anyone not in the lunch room at seven wouldn't be allowed to eat.
