Arryn had been staying in Camelot for a few months or so, she hasn't been counting. Though most assemblies were the same in terms of content, and it was normal for the culture of Camelot; there was no way of distinguishing the current state of Camelot than what was currently happening of that moment. Was it time to enter the fray? Not yet. As she took a step closer a booming voice exclaimed.
"Prove your worthiness as defenders of Camelot. Face me in combat and show me that you are worthy to call yourselves knights of Britannia."
"These knights must really fear this one to partake in this type of Training." Stated Arryn, she then moved a bit closer, lessening the gap between her and the other knights. Is this what they consider fun in Camelot? Whatever it was, she won't allow anyone to fall. She ran her fingers on the little sun crest by her left shoulder and slowly marched her way towards the man who asked to prove these men's worthiness.
Arryn stood under the sun for awhile, letting her shield be blessed by the sun before she would do anything, it is common for her to do such a thing before a battle. From where she was stood, she had could see the man enough behind all the other men, examining him from afar. It was then she figured that he was no ordinary man, he was a druid. It was at that moment her eagerness grew, like a child who hadn't played in awhile. Though it is a stretch comparing the Bright Dawn to a child, she was more of an elderly sister type of person who wishes to protect those in danger.
It is time
She drew her shield and raised it slightly above her head, feeling the warmth of the sun on it's base as she readied herself to join the fray.
The Radiance "Faith in oneself and for another" No one is fully lost, maybe they have just forgotten who they are. Arryn believes that anyone can come back to the light or is never to far gone. She sees the good in everyone.
Vow
Arryn vows to defend anyone that has been touched by the light of the sun, she swears that she will sacrifice her life even if it means saving another.
Combat Style/Knight Archetype:
"Pen or Sword - the shield is mightiest." Foot knight; though Arryn depends on her shield to protect herself and her allies, even with her skill with the blade her shield is her mightiest asset. If needed, she will lead the charge behind her shield as she believes that is the only protection she will need.
Age:
28
Weight:
179 lbs
Height:
179 cm
Appearance/Description:
Arryn would be classified as an attractive woman, this may be because of her fit stature, long orange hair that goes down to her lower back or maybe just the freckles spread across her pale face. Maybe it's because of those gleaming brown eyes, who knows for sure, many describe beauty in all different manners. A lot of people have mentioned that sometimes when the sun is just right, she glows, it's odd for most but it is believed to be true which earned her nickname.
I suck at colouring but here it is
Equipment:
Plate Mail - A bulky type of plate armour associated with the Bright Dawn with a silverish gold base colour and red velet trim assets.
Tower shield (Shield of the Sun) - Though it looks more like an oversized Kiteshield, the Shield of the Sun's crest is of the sun instead of whoever Arryn is serving.
Steel straight sword - The only thing to note about her straight sword is the end of the hilt is keen to look like the sun.
Crest of the sun - A small crest used to hold her cape together.
Pack horse - His name is Zenith.
Open face helmet - Unlike other knights, Arryn has different virtues, she wishes to show her face to those she fights so that no one may forget who she is.
Cape - it's red velvet coloured, nothing special.
Upbrining/Backstory:
Arryn was born in a family with 6 brothers, with Arryn being the second youngest, she was easily influenced by her brothers to do things a male would do. With that being said, she grew up as a tomboy who loved spar with her brothers who wielded swords of their own. Most of her brothers became knights except for two, one of them being the youngest. Though Arryn swore to protect her brothers she wasn't trained as much as she is now. Back then Arryn was clumsy and had trouble carrying a sword and a shield at the same time.
Time passed and her body became fit for battle, and just in the nick of time. The encampment they were training in had enemy forces and since their encampment was small it was 50 of them vs 150 soldiers. Arryn got ready, her brothers beside her, a broadsword on her main hand and a kite shield on her right. The commander of the encampment questioned how they found the place when it was practically hidden in the middle of the forest. The commander stated that the best way to defend is for them to leave the encampment and out into the open battlefield of the forest, so as the enemy got close, they did just that; battlecries could be heard as two forces clashed, her brothers already doing much better than her but everyone knew that were going to be overrun and they slowly perished, one by one. Three of her brothers have died, one of her brothers sacrificed his life for another and one of the two remained pleaded that Arryn and her other brother Vareth to run and hide in the forest. Arryn was being pulled away by Vareth just as the other brother was impaled, and both of them dropped their shields..
They ran into the forest, past the trees and a few creaks, with three enemy soldiers chasing them. Her brother then got hit by arrow in the back of the knee and they ended up into this open area, with one tree in the middle a tower shield resting on base of the tree. As Arryn dragged Vareth towards the tree, the three soldiers came marching at them. Vareth got up and held his sword and they stood back to back. Vareth got one and Arryn got another, but Vareth's leg gave in and fell down. Arryn then got distracted and the sword was thrown out her hands, the soldier hit Arryn with the hilt of his blade and knocked her to the side. He got ready to strike down Vareth, but Arryn put her hands on the shield and pulled it from the ground, as it touched the sunlight she slammed the shield right on the soldier's head and knocked him unconscious. Vareth looked at her, and he shielded his eyes asked if she was glowing like that before. Arryn felt nothing change about her, but whatever it was it can be talked about at another time. Arryn then took the shield and her sword, her brother turned to the man and finished him off, but Arryn so no need to do so. She sheathed her sword and held the shield and supported her brother and made their way to the nearest city.
That city happened to be Camelot.
As they stayed there, her brother told her story and Arryn was offered to serve Camelot, she gladly accepted and took that position with pride.
Faith:
Christianity
Loyalty:
(Leave this blank for now, later name which ruler you support.)
Magic:
Shield of the Sun - This shield grants protection to those who believe in the light.
I don't know where the hell they got that from, but the actual description is more like:
The capacity to grasp victory before the battle begins, using the broader purviews of such things as diplomacy and logistics. In her prior life, Nobunaga's surprise attack at the Battle of Okehazama was successful, but this was merely a fluke. It is said that in her lifetime, this fluke was the only battle that turned strategic defeat into tactical victory, but even then was a desperate fight. To this day, she reflects on this battle.
Hasty translation on my part so some nuance might be missed, but suffice to say it's more related to preparation for the battle than Military Tactics, which is for the battle itself.
Each character makes me more excited for when the start finally happens, though I know it'll ve a while. If anyone wants to 1x1 with our characters as a kind of prologue to this (building small relations, short stories.) I'm open to it :3
I'm down for that once my character's ready to go!
