The primal urge to obsessively access your uni portal to see if your classes have been released, so you can read the syllabi thirty-seven times before class next week.

Cuyler Eysteinsson

Location: Outside the Palace

Cuyler reached out and stabilized himself with the wall nearest him. The dizzy sensation passed over him quickly but he still felt a mild disoriented at having being transported from one place to another. He was vaguely aware of Ayra speaking but didn’t hear much of anything until she said his name. He nodded simply and watched her leave with Rowland before looking to Atkin.
Thia gave an excited bark and then she ran off, scattering a grouping of birds she had targeted and then began to chase after one of them. She would be at it for awhile but it didn’t worry Cuyler. Thia always found him again and he didn’t think bringing her into the Palace would be the wisest.
”Does she usually make you sit on the sidelines?” Cuyler asked Atkin. Although the boy looked younger than Cuyler he guessed they were closer in age than what appearance suggested.
Cuyler took the opportunity to sit down on the steps to the Palace while they waited. He assumed it would take awhile for the Wizards to make their way through to secure the Palace and with their late coming, who knew what else they would come across. As it was, people were already making their way to the Palace steps, waiting to be allowed inside. He watched the people approach with mild curiosity. You could tell a lot about a person by the way they walked or how they dressed. Like who lived outside the Castle walls, who worked the land or stayed inside. Who was a witch. The eyes of course were the dead give-away but Cuyler made it a habit to observe other things first to determine who people were. Take Atkin for example, there were many things to notice just by the way he was standing.
@Jollan Oh he can walk it off. Some raw meat might help with that.

Cuyler came to a sliding hault, nearly falling but maintained his footing as he came to a stop in front of Ayra. Thia had just moved on from barking at Arya to sitting beside Rowland, looking up at him with an expected expression on her face. Despite the seriousness of the moment she still expected to be petted. Cuyler’s focus remained on Ayra. Her face was stressed but his own face slipped into a boyish smile as he was re-acquainted with his friend; however, the expression didn’t remain and Cuyler jumped into his reason for being suddenly there.
”Arya, Rowland. After you left a ghost appeared to me with a, warning of sorts,” he said to Rowland before looking at Arya. ”You’re in danger, along with your apprentice. Something about бесконачни каменци being set into motion.” Cuyler had looked to Atkin when he mentioned him and then back to Ayra. Marcellus Pye’s words and smug smile of his notation on Cuyler’s feelings for Ayra suddenly invaded his thoughts. It was the worst possible moment for this and after calling Thia back to his side he refocused on the moment.
”He was dressed in Alchemist robes,” he added, feeling that would cement the gravity of the situation.
If anyone wants to pop in and hang with Daniil, feel free lol

Zabella Tamlin

Zabella looked over at the vampire that had approached her. She glanced at the red thing in her hand but knew exactly what it was. What a handy little thing to have. She never had the luxury of a bloodpop so she was used to drinking blood in it's liquid form but this seemed far more appealing.
"Thank you." She took the stick from her and popped it into her mouth. A loud amount of growling echoed through the halls and into the library. She looked to the door and shook her head, it was much safer to stay inside. Zabella looked back at the girl.
"How old are you?" she asked suddenly.

Daniil Sim

Daniil prowled along the edge of the fight, having only come out of the training room near the tail end of it. He had been around enough scraps to realize that if he came any closer, he too would loose control. The tension was palpable in the hall as it was and when Hava approached that tension increased tenfold but he was oddly calm at the same time. She had the air of control and being the first she could control all of them quite easily. Daniil backed down once the matter was resolved and headed to the cafeteria. He required something to chew on now and they would all be taken downstairs shortly anyway.
The problem with being in a school full of wolves was everyone fighting for the top, or at the very least fighting to be left alone. Daniil grabbed a few pieces of meat and sat down in the middle of the room at a table and began to dig in unceremoniously.

He rose an eyebrow as he listened to the Alchemist talk briefly about his past and committed his rival’s name to memory. Whatever this danger was it was not to be taken lightly, for as he said, their public quarrel was set aside for a few things. This seemed to be one of them.
Cuyler’s face screwed up at the foreign words and was about to question the frustrating creature but he was growing more transparent and then was completely gone, vanished from Cuyler’s sight.
”Are you fucking serious!?” Cuyler yelled into the empty space.
People walking on the street in front of his table stopped abruptly to stare at his little outburst. Ignoring them all, Cuyler grabbed his satchel and shoved a few things into it, including his present to Ayra. He scanned the sky for the position of the sun and glared at that as well. It was nearly time for the coronation and Cuyler had wanted to be a little nicer dressed than he was currently but his priorities had effectively switched thanks to his unwanted visitor.
”Thia, find Arya,” he instructed. She too had been staring after his sudden change and seemed to be ready for whatever her companion threw at her. She slipped under Cuyler’s table and bounded through the crowd, slipping around people much easier than he would have been able to.
He grabbed the bag of coin that had been made from this morning, pulled out two and then set the rest into his satchel. Throwing it over his shoulder, he moved swiftly up the street to Halvor’s table and tossed the coin at him.
”Take what you want from the jewels on my table to sell but bring my wood carvings back to my room at the Hefring.” Before Halvor could wipe the shock from his face and begin hounding Cuyler with questions he pushed back into the crowd and moved up the street to the Wizards Tower. He hoped he would be able to intercept their travels to the castle from there. Arya needed to hear this information now and with the Wizard Tower on lockdown, it was needed now rather than after the coronation.
He chanted the words the ghost, who was perhaps Marcellus Pye like Cuyler thought, over and over in his head so he wouldn’t forget how it sounded and finally broke into a run through the Castle streets.
His running wasn’t quite graceful and he stumbled many times and nearly bulldozed a few people when they walked out of nearby shops. A memory flooded him then, hitting him harder than he expected and stumbled to a near stop. He continued to walk quickly, catching his breath as the memory took its course.
His father was standing over top of him, a fire roared behind him, making it look like the man was glowing. Noise filled Cuyler’s ears and heard the crackling of fire mixed with his father’s hearty laugh.
”You were never good on land my boy, your legs were meant for the sea,” his father stated, finally helping the tiny Cuyler to his feet. The boy was bleeding from several places due to his rough fall but paid no mind as he gazed up at the man. His father looked down at him with pure affection on his face. ”We could never get you to walk but as soon as I put you on the boat for travel, we couldn’t get you to stop walking.” He laughed again and shook his head. He took the boy’s hand and guided him back to a small house where the wailing of a babe had started up.
The memory faded and Cuyler was sucked back into reality. He was nearly upon the Wizard’s tower and he sprinted the last few blocks. He couldn’t save his family all those years ago but he would be damned if he didn’t do what he could to protect Ayra.

Daniil Sim

Daniil continued to lift the bar with all its weight until his arms grew numb. He lifted it up for a final time and set it to rest on its platform again. He rested a hand on his chest, breathing deeply for a few moments before he sat up. The training room had cleared out, save for himself and two other people and then he saw why. He smirked, seeing Drake lifting his own set of weights. Drake had developed a bit of a reputation and now Daniil was pretty well alone in the training room with the biggest meathead of the school.
He stood up and moved over to the treadmills, on the other side of the room.
”You sure know how to clear a room Drake, I’ll give you that,” Daniil said, not being able to help the mouth he had. Daniil however had no problem with Drake. He honestly had no problem with any of his classmates, vampires included but dominant nature couldn’t be helped among werewolves; even though they were learning to control it.

Zabella Tamlin

Zabella was going to have to take a break soon. Her eyes were beginning to burn and she was starting to get hungry as well. She didn’t have much for breakfast, her mind had been on other things. She was vaguely aware of someone sitting near her and she glanced up for a second, needing only that to recognize the girl. Her blonde hair was brilliant and only gave her a more innocent look. Zabella was surprised coming to the school to see that she wasn’t the youngest here and it upset her some to see that people would turn children so young. Of course impulse was also a thing, something she knew well.
The young vampire turned back to her notes and started to reread a paragraph once again but grew fed up with trying to pronounce a specific word and shoved her books aside, sighing loudly and rubbed her eyes. She wondered then how long she had been sitting there for.

Daniil Sim

Daniil had a slept terribly, the first since coming to the castle. Tonight would be the first full moon and you could feel the tension and the nerves in the air. It seemed to set the wolves more on edge and the vampires were keeping their distance. Daniil regarded everyone with close looks as the school day went on and he was immensely grateful that classes were cancelled so that he could go to the training facility to blow off some steam before they would eat and be separated into their cages. Daniil seemed more terrified for this stage of the game. It wasn’t that he hadn’t been caged before but vampires hadn’t been looking over them as they transformed. Of course a vampire would be stupid to try and stop a werewolf but there were a lot of them in this castle. He had been getting along well with his roommate, keeping to themselves but being civil as well and Daniil had developed a fondness for his blood-sucking rommie. Dan stripped his shirt off after adding weights to the bar and sat down where he lifted the straight bar off its rest and began bench pressing at a faster rate than the average human could do.

Zabella Tamlin

The atmosphere of the school tonight moved across Zabella’s skin like that of a spider crawling on her skin. It tingled and seemed to burn in places as she passed fellow classmates, on her way to the massive library. Even with her lack of writing and reading skills she found this place oddly comforting with the row on row of books and the walls covered with portraits and other works of incredible art. Everytime Z looked at these art pieces she found new details that escaped her before and many nights after classes and when her roommate went to bed she would stay up, recreating some of her favourite pieces from memory. Today was the full moon, the first of the school year starting and she wasn’t entirely sure how the evening would go. She had yet to see any of the teachers or hear any announcements but she wasn’t completely afraid for her safety. A certain part of her wanted to watch the transformations, she had never seen one before but another part of her wanted to crawl into the highest corner of the castle and not come down until the wolves had returned to their two-legged form. With a light sigh she sat in a high backed chair, near a fire and opened her books and began to rewrite words from her textbooks, a dictionary beside her so she could sound out the words and write down their definitions if she didn’t understand their meaning. She did twice as much work as her other classmates but hardly minded. It kept her head busy and her heart numb.

Cuyler Eysteinsson

Location: Traders’ Market

Cuyler frowned, crossing his arms and leaned against his table. He had long forgotten to sell the rest of his wares to the customers and frankly didn’t care if they looked at him in confusion. For if anyone were to look, they would see Cuyler talking to himself.
”And what concern would an Alchemist have for the ExtraOrdinary Wizard’s apprentice?”
There had always been bad blood between the Wizards and Alchemists and a lot of he-said, she-said. Who really knew the truth of who set half the castle aflame. Perhaps this man knew. He didn’t look old enough but he carried himself in such a way that suggested longevity and even with the limited knowledge Cuyler had, he knew that Alchemists could create things, like eternal life. Marcellus Pye had made a Tincture for eternal life but it didn’t prevent the aging. Cuyler watched the ghost more closely, was this Marcellus Pye who was gifted with a Tincture from Septimus Heap to look younger again?
Other thoughts circled through his mind, pulling his thoughts away from the stranger ghost to its comment of Culyer’s relationship with Ayra. Of course he cared for the girl, she was his friend but fancy her? Cuyler was certain that was the farthest thing from Ayra’s mind.

Cuyler kept up with all of the rumors, throwing the few words in that were needed to sell another charm or wood carving. Every time a suggestion was thrown out that Arya was the intended target, Cuyler shrugged it off but would glance at the tower nervously. Still no changes and the trader tried to relax a little bit more each time. He knew fully well Arya would care for herself and with the departure of Rowland and Yule, he had nothing to truly be concerned about but it seemed to be in Cuyler’s nature now.
Another customer approached but Cuyler was moving his wares around in order to push a few different products so he didn’t notice who had come to his table.
”And what is your prediction young adventurer?” Cuyler asked with a chuckle. He found that if he threw in words that suggested adventure and travel, people tended to by the more exotic things. He looked up then and saw a very transparent thing. This particular person would no longer be going on adventures. Beside him, Thia growled and looked around curiously but was unable to see anything beyond her senses that something was amiss.
Swallowing, Cuyler glanced around. He never had the gift to see ghosts as some Northern Traders were graced with but he knew that if a ghost chose to, they could appear to anyone. Clearly this one had chosen to appear to him and Cuyler wasn’t entirely sure why.
He glanced around at the crowd but the people were preoccupied with staring at the tower and coming up with their own theories so Cuyler was free to speak with this strange customer. His hand rested on Thia, to keep her from barking or growling further as he looked over this man. Cuyler didn’t have to be from this land to see that whoever this ghost was, in his living days he was an Alchemist and seemed to have experienced hardship when alive.
”You know the truth of what is going on,” Cuyler stated. ”Is the ExtraOrdinary wizard safe?”
