Current So, as an American, what do I do when I need to choose between illegal immigration to Canada and dying in a civil war?

Up until today I've never had any trouble with my EUIV Japan games. Today I got stomped five times in a row before even uniting the country.

Bio

I'm a weeaboo communist. Are you surprised?

EDIT: You probably are now, but I'm not going to tell you why you wouldn't have been like two years ago. You get to agonize over that yourself.

The Terran diplomat simply listened to the councilors as they explained the various reasons why they would never bombard a planet and why the Terrans were honorless dogs. After everything was over, he spoke, his words taking the place of a heavy sigh that was building up for quite some time.

"We were talking about the shields. Since you are confident that you can invade one of their worlds, I have already composed a message to our High Admiral requesting that no further orbital bombardments take place. You are far more experienced than my people in interstellar warfare, and if you say you can do something, I have no doubts in your ability. I cannot deny that this weapon was designed to bombard and kill the populace of a planet, but you must understand that we had no choice. As you have likely noticed, my species is quite frail and our planetside weapons technology is not quite up to par. Do not get me wrong, orbital bombardment was the last thing we ever wanted. You can claim us to be ignorant, you can say that we are blind, and you can say that we are cowards, but in all those I must respectfully say that you are wrong. We know the horrors of genocide quite well, thanks to our own blunders. You might be able to argue that the dehumanization-pardon the term-that results from the impersonal murder of millions from orbit makes us blind, but what I refuse to let you say is that we are cowards. A hundred thousand of our warriors died fighting in a battle they could have refused, only to have the survivors return to say that the Iscandarians had destroyed the planet they were asked to protect. It is an insult to them and every other Terran servicemen and women that has died in this war."

"The only reliable method of translation we have is cranial nanobots, and we only use those if we have no idea what is being said... no, there must be some explanation... but... do we speak the same language?"
I've got another idea I'll be posting a bit later. Though it deals with the concept of Augmented reality, I think I still got the documents I did when I was planning it out, somewhere. Regardless, it's gonna be another pretty long one.

Can't wait to see it!

Hey, you posted here too.

Do YOU like cancer, Mister Key?

Hey, I need to get my fix of cancer-inducing posts.
Skimming that OP while half asleep is like trying to find the significance of the color of Scout's hair in To Kill a Mockingbird.
Is everyone here addicted to cancer?

Because this thread is giving everyone cancer.

?

This is clearly the best submission.
Yes I did say that.

All I will say is I am not in the best of moods right now and my judgement is probably severely clouded.

Welcome to the club, because my judgement is hanging on the dogwood tree in my front yard. As is my logic, because I'm actually going through with the most out of place reference in history.
Hinansho System, Bridge of the Excalibur

"Empress! Alien vessel at point 108, 13, 89!"

The entire bridge crew turned to face the sensors officer, their memories triggered by the string of coordinates. They indicated the point of first contact with the New Roman Empire, and the site of the first battle of the war. The Abh had made it damn clear to the Romans through the liberal application of missiles that the area was not to be disturbed. It had been declared sacred, mainly because if it wasn't sacred then those who had died in the battle wouldn't be able to reincarnate, trapped in space forever. Not that they had told the Romans that. After all, they expected them to immediately do all that they could to desecrate it if they were told.

"Inside the debris field?" Said the Empress in disbelief, unsure how to respond. A missile strike would be reckless, and they certainly couldn't move into cannon range.

"Yes, Empress! They're right in the middle of it! They just activated some kind of stealth system, they know damn well that we don't want them there!"

They would risk a battle just to desecrate the graves of our explorers whom we sent to make peace with them! She thought, scowling at the viewscreen as if the Romans could see her. Once again, the demons from the fifth planet prove themselves to be just that.

"Open the hangar!" She yelled furiously, storming out of the room. "Prepare the new Kamikaze mechs!"

Hinansho System, Midway Debris Field

A squadron of ten vehicles flew through the asteroid belt, heading straight towards the Kestral. They weren't normal fighter craft, they were something else entirely. They had a humanoid figure, and each carried a giant katana, for all the use it could possibly be in space combat. They also had railguns, designed for rapid, automatic fire. The lead one was painted white, with Sānshingenō characters on its right arm indicating that it was owned by the Na'brel family. If anyone on the Kestral happened to know Japanese, they just might be able to read them if they could get a look at the vehicle.

A yellow scanning beam from the lead mech swept the Kestral, and the Empress was surprised to learn that it didn't match even the basic design conventions of the New Roman Empire. The squadron quickly stopped, ending up just before the bridge of the Kestral, barely close enough to see the crew inside. Staring dumbfounded at the aliens inside, the Empress checked her mech's database. Whoever the aliens were, they weren't Roman, and they weren't hostile. She sent a message to the ship, choosing to include a video feed as well. Obviously, she had no idea what they would think. She was, after all, wearing a suit with wires connecting electrodes all over her to the vehicle itself in case something went wrong with her natural neural connection. And the neural connection didn't exactly provide the most presentable piloting position.

"Well, you're about to have one hell of a day. Welcome to the Hinansho system, and welcome to no man's land. If you happen to enjoy life, you'll want to go to battlestations if you haven't already. The Romans will be here soon."

I'm just gonna leave this here. Remember: If this starts an argument, take it to a PM. It'll be a while before my next post, obviously.
Hey, Apollo, just how much do the Septonians know about human culture? Because I just realized how hilarious this first contact could be.
