Yeah, but the Abh seem to have built and constructed such a powerful design rather fast. Which is what I am having trouble with.


The ship was already there, just in a terrible state of disrepair because has giants have wind. The Abh restored it and switched out the weapons systems. If they had built it from scratch, they would have changed the name. An unspoken rule in the spaceborne and sea navies is that you never change the name of a ship.

The Excalibur was a design found in ancient archives at a gas giant in the Abh/Roman home system. That's why it's called the Excalibur. The Abh wouldn't name anything that because they don't have the myth. Hell, they don't even have the "l" sound.
