I think I can count past 20,000 as the second big milestone. :3 Almost 20,500 words, but I need to go refresh my tea and I think I'll just do a little more outline refinement for now. Things are still going entirely swimmingly - for me as the author, anyway. Our heroines are in less dire straits, and they have a few more answers, but those answers are only leading to more questions.
I sort of love this story. :3

I still haven't made many big problems yet. But they're coming, soon, in the form of blatant Cold War parallels.
