Fairy Tail : United we Stand

Rurik listened as they spoke, and began to sweat a little, and then his jaw outright dropped and his eyes went wide. He'd completely failed?! If anything, they were just mocking him! He was way too tired to deal with this, he felt like crying, but displays of weakness like that were against his nature, so he refrained. Instead he just grit his teeth and tried to think of how to deal with this.

"I'm not... you don't..." He groaned loudly, failing to make a coherent sentence. Why wouldn't they listen? He just wanted to help. He sighed, but as usual he was really bad at this whole teamwork thing. It's why he usually didn't bother... which meant he never had a chance to get good at it. The way they were talking to him though, it made him angry, it made him not want to even attempt to explain his intentions. Would they even listen anyway?

Not only did he feel they weren't in any mood to listen, and probably never had been, but now they'd challenged his pride. Fine, if that's how they wanted to play it, maybe he'd just prove them wrong and beat the wyvern himself! The only problem with that plan was he didn't know much about wyverns. He'd certainly never seen one before. If he made a fool of himself, they'd probably never let him live it down. They were already letting him have it as it was. He knew he shouldn't let them get him angry, but he was too short on sleep to control his temper.

"Ugh, fine then..." Rurik growled angrily. He bit back the numerous retorts on the tip of his tongue. He had no desire to make enemies. They were his guild-mates, he didn't want to antagonize them, even if they were infuriating him at the moment. Clearly opening his mouth hadn't done him any good so far anyway. After this job was over, he could just ignore them until he forgot how annoying they were. For now, he just fell back and walked behind both of them. He'd get back in front once they found the wyvern.

We needs a Verin or Chloe post so we can continue our fun, calm, and civil discussion, and then go befriend that wyvern. With our fists.

Also lots and lots and lots of needless and excessive violence... which is also fun... and shiny.

*cough* Sorry, my dark side came out for a moment there.

Alls I know is that I want the wyvern to be a really tough opponent. So I can show off and have Rurik single handendly-

Well, I guess if we didn't wait, we Wyvern hunters would just finish too quickly, and then be stuck anyway while we waited for the rest to finish their first assignments... xD

Rurik grumbled and narrowed his eyes. Of course he'd heard it was in the forest! But forests were big! It was like asking where to find a store and being told "in a city." Well no crap, which part of the city? He sighed and tried to calm down. For now, it seemed he had a wyvern to rescue. At this point, he had a feeling the beast was in more danger than anyone else. The irony was killing him.

"Yeah, yeah..." Rurik muttered and chased after them. For someone so cheerful, Chloe sure had a penchant for, arguably needless, violence. He really didn't' understand why people rebelled against nature so much. Well, at least it made life interesting. He didn't get bored very often, that was for sure. When he caught up with them, he began thinking. This job was definitely something right up his alley, so obviously it was up to him to make sure it went right. Naturally, he'd have to instruct Verin and Chloe on how best to proceed. It was a perfect opportunity for him to teach them! Finally, all his experience with predators could be put to direct use to help the guild!

Then he remembered who he was dealing with and let out a tired groan. What was the chance that these numbskulls would actually absorb any of what he said? Chloe especially seemed to have very wall-like qualities when it came to listening. Everything just sort of bounced off...

"So, uhh..." How to word this so that the two would listen? "As you know, my magic is based around Predators-" Good, good, open with the assumption that they already know, that way they won't think that you think they're dumb or ignorant. "-so you might want to let me take the lead on this one. You'll probably be able to learn something useful!" Yes, give them something to gain, that'll make them more likely to respond!

And in the process, he hadn't sounded the least bit arrogant. Not even a little... nope, not at all...

Well once we have Verin start leading the way, we can then find out just how well these three will actually get along... Then we will see how well these three can fight along side each other...
