Stone Dragon: Kult of Athena's selection is as good as their website is bad. You can even get an Albion from them though you'll have to wait a year or so.

@Dynamo Frokane Yeah that's true.

Well you aren't wrong. The internet is filled with libertarians who just discovered Ayn Rand and grew their first neckbeard lol. They are typically insufferable. Then there is the business class of libertarian which is more of a heroic identity. I have a fondness for the libertarians intellectual wing myself. I enjoy logical rigor and I usually only get that from libertarians and marxists. I think I missed the meme stuff? I wasn't even aware there were libertarian and communist memes before I started hanging out on the Guild again. It's really new to me.
@Dynamo Frokane The anti-libertarian memes. It has been a while since I ran into much anti-libertarianism, way back on TVTropes waaaay back eight or nine years ago or so. It was usually linked with a hatred for Kant, love for Jeremy Bentham and a lean toward the political left.

Ah okay. Hrm. Never heard that before. I had the impression that he was the centrist candidate but I admit I don't know a lot about him.
@Dynamo Frokane Really? Interesting. I admit I'm surprised, I didn't think you were a Le Pen fan. Can I ask why you support her over Macron?
@The Nexerus I don't see any reason why it is. In fact I see a number of reasons why it isn't.
You know, I'll be totally honest. I think communism could work in the future. With automation and AI I think it's possible. But I certainly wouldn't support it now. Communist regimes have killed too many people and the communists around the Guild talk about violence against their political enemies so much that it makes me feel violence is a feature of communism, not a bug. Plus there's the fact that communist economies often do so poorly people end up starving to death and I have to eat.

Even if communism is theoretically possible with some major advancements in technology I don't see any reason to risk being killed by an oppressive regime or starved by a failed economy. Nobody in this thread has even proposed answers to the failures of communism.

It will be the best car with the best tires and the best muffler and the best seatbelts and the best airbags and the best radio knob and the best company break room to never be built ever.

Just think, the entire society will be as useful as millennials' college degrees.

Because before the US Dollar, nobody ever hated anybody.

'focused upon' by precisely nobody -- we're too busy waiting in line for the new DPRChevrolet.

So democracy, but only if you agree with me.

So no violence, except when we're doing violence.

Beating those who politically oppose you doesn't strike me as bigoted in the least.

The goal is to trigger this new society once capitalism figures out renewable energy, but before capitalism figures out interplanetary travel. Then and only then can the great Communist Amish Nation take root. Commish? Am-unism?

"Basic" is one word.

Will I be beaten for it in the glorious revolution?

@MelonHead Thanks :-)
One question I've always had about the Arena is which battle system is used here. T1, T2, something else..?
In Hey 9 yrs ago Forum: Introduce Yourself
Welcome to the Guild :-)
there seems to an insanely hostile/toxic atmosphere across the board.

Yeah. People are really angry and I'm not sure why.

Sometimes coming to the OOC sections of the site is like a meal with your abusive father. You're like: "Sooo.. I put bacon bits in the green beans" and he's like "FUCK BACON BITS" and flips the table over.

I don't know. It just seems like the amount of anger expressed is disproportionate to the inciting events. It would be unreasonable to expect people to never get angry but it seems like people get extremely angry over things that seem pretty mild. It's weird.
