No offense intended. But there's a sweet spot on the sliding scale of realism, and most of the interest checks I usually see skew too far to the realism end for me.

Can't describe how quickly I go from excited to sad when a mecha premise turns out to be realism wankery.

Well, here it is, for anyone who was curious. Nothing special, not very exciting, and since written on an iPad, not the greatest.

not that it matters anymore

fucking toaster

...

Killsteal'd by a toaster, moments before my own post went up.

...

Durn grocery run, keepin' me away from my keyboard.

EDIT:

Nothing extremely flashy, as Abe doesn't yet have a flashy powerset. I still have what the post was, but it was mostly a little swordplay to cripple and then kill.
"I shall deal with it."

As if noticing the intent of its opponent, the draconic golem lashed outward with a forelimb, expecting to slam Abraham into the wall. He stepped back, his adept reflexes enabling him to avoid the blow with ease. Furthermore, it was quite enough time for the makeshift projectile that was one of its former brethren to slam into it, causing the beast to collide with the wall with a clamor of stone on brick. Momentarily stunned, it took a moment for the creature to regain knowledge of its surroundings; When it did, its target was no longer there.

The swordsman's whereabouts were revealed by a slash to its flank, blade cutting into stone and magma with a little effort, only to be pulled free when the beast turned its head to bite. Once more Abraham darted nimbly aside, a quick swipe at the dragon's leg liberating the bottom fourth of its limb, limiting mobility. By this point, Fury was quite hot; The heat had no adverse effect on the blade, but it was rather inadvisable to touch it.

Your grandfather would have cut through it by now.

You know, if you ever did anything more than nag, maybe I would have too.

A more more swift strikes, interrupted only by the time it took to evade rapidly slowing blows of the beast's own, severely limited the creature's ability to be a threat, and Abraham himself had yet to suffer even a near-injury. Ducking down to avoid a rather irritable snap of the creature's jaws, he found himself with an opportunity; One he quickly took advantage of, lunging forward to sink Fury into the base of the creature's neck, and twist.

Not as flashy as the other takedowns, perhaps, but a death by a thousand cuts was a death nonetheless.
The 42nd Gecko said
"stood still as everyone scattered in fear of the dragons."I will say that this line, Reapthemusic, was rather pretentious. Literally no one scattered. Rather than in fear, a few people seem to be mildly offput, but that's about it.~~He cut a dragon in half, and then picked up one of the halves from said dragon cut in half, and threw it at the dragon heading at Abraham.

The dragon headed his way, or the dragon half? Sorry for being so nitpicky, I just want to make sure I understand.
Yo, Gecko

I'm mildly confused at the exact events in the last Tai post; He cleaved one in half, and threw half, but was he throwing it at another statue half that he left for Abraham to intercept? Or did I misread completely?

I figured it'd be better to ask and clarify than post, and have been wrong. XD
Well. Lava dragon statues.

This'll be interesting. Wuxia hero and swordsman-with-an-odd-sword vs. lava dragon statue? Starting too look likely.

What could possibly go wrong?
IC:

A single deft sidestep brought Abraham around the locker door, though he seemed decidedly unsurprised by its presence. Now that a modicum of distance had been put between himself and the intruder, he took his gaze away from the intersection, focusing on his own retreat. "Simple; Retreating without paying attention is inadvisable, both for myself, and for for anyone who retreated the same direction."

"Bes-" Whatever next remark he was going to make was cut off by the generation of... Lava dragon statues, further down the direction that he as fleeing. One of, by the sound of things, four.

... You ever deal with lava dragons?

Once. It was a pain.

"So, you ever deal with a lava statue before? Because it's looking necessary."
Alright! Firstly, thank you all very much for not going insane while I was asleep. Secondly, I've gotten myself caught up, and posted. Abraham knows a superior enemy when he sees it, and, well, guarding retreating people still lets him do something slightly helpful. =P

On an unrelated note; Gecko, those recaps were not only very helpful, but very funny.

EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot. I'll have that VP profile done by tonight, after school ends.
IC:

Is this really our first day?

Yes.

A pause. You're really not helpful, Fury.

The situation was very, very rapidly proving to be beyond his capabilities for defense. The enemy, it seemed, was the academy's original vice principal, and that meant so far beyond his current capabilities it wasn't even comedic. He had just rapidly dealt with the sole attack launched against him, and a more than competent one at that, and gone straight into confronting the Headmistress. Several additional teachers had appeared, and the Headmistress appeared to be taking a very... Personal interest in the situation.

After a moment's more thought, he backpedaled quickly, never taking his eyes off of the intruder. He had seen the young boy take the ninja janitor down the hall, so he turned down that hall himself, following as closely behind him as he could, keeping his eyes directed towards the confrontation. He couldn't take on the face-heel-turn'd VP, but he could at least defend the people in the process of retreating.
Regrettably, I have to sleep in about fifteen minutes. If you could try not to leave me too far in the dust, that would be great. But I completely understand if you do. XD

I'll check back at least once more before I have to slumber.
