No actually I'm pretty sure you can have too much of anything. Especially if there is a lack of the other classes to balance it out. There's no problem if you want to have a character that's a little out there. In fact our own Habeen Nocta is already kinda nuts. Just make sure that she's not a dangerous or psychotic nut cause no one is going to want someone like that on the team.
@KabenSaal I've only seen you on two RPs so I could be completely wrong on this but it seems to me that you have a tendency to build a character around a central idea or motif. In this case it was fire, in Heroes of Beacon it was cannibalism. Now there's nothing wrong with that. In fact it's a pretty good way to start. When you finish the character however for a moment just remove that motif. Take a look at the character if they didn't have that central idea. Do you still have a character? Or was that motif all there was. For instance with this girl, Hannah you've created is she anything without her fire abilities? Does her life have anything in it, does she even have a personality if she can't incinerate someone with a thought? Does she have dreams and goals in her life? Where does she see herself in five years? Ten Years? Does she have people in her past she could turn to in a time of need? Her foster parents are dead sure but did she have friends in her village or did she just burn everything she ever knew?

If you take away that one central facade of her character and you find there isn't much else then you should realize that you don't actually have a character, you've got a name and a class.

Name: Hannah Kabal
Class: Fire Mage

All the other mages we have are people behind their powers. Arkhant is a student eager to learn. Nickolas is a rather morbid scientist. Habeen is a really creepy natural healer and wanderer. Syrena is a scared girl trying to sort her life out and figure out what is right.

All of these people would still be those things even if they were unable to summon the powers of Elwind or Nosferatu. If her power is all that Hannah has as a character then I'd start asking some serious questions as to why you came up with her in the first place.

@Lugubrious On a completely unrelated note I was looking through the weapons section and isn't Stone a dark magic spell? Cause it's not put under that heading in the tab.

For anybody still making a character, I want to make a few suggestions, if you don't like them, just ingnore them.

-A solemn and diplomatic knight
-A mercenary axeman/flier/rider
-A musical caviler
-A pacifistic clerk/priest
-A world-traveling Wyvern Rider
-A lonely Taquel/Manakete
-A Knight of the kingdom
-A blacksmithing fighter
-A traveling merchant axeman/flier/rider

These are just a few that I believe would be reasonable, you can mix and match the traits and make your own backstory.

A couple of those are a little cliche but he's got the right idea. These are the sorts of classes and things that we're in desperate short supply of.
Hey Kaben I'm not Lug of course and I don't have final say on anything but I think there are some things you might want to consider.

Firstly, another mage, come on guys I know magic is fun but we've got to get some axe and lance men in here somewhere.

Next and this goes out to everyone, the Rationale section is not meant just to explain why your character would want to be one of the Reclaimers but also to explain why the King would want your character as one of this group. This is after all first and foremost a peace keeping mission and I think any reasonable ruler would recognize the fact that having a dangerously unstable, powerful fire mage who seems to have no qualms about destroying everything in her path might not be the best idea. This sort of goes back to what we were discussing in the Heroes of Beacon RP but why would this girl who you plainly stated has a shattered mind not be incarcerated in a mad house. I'd imagine in a real Fire Emblem world they would have mad houses designed to hold mages.

Lastly I find it just a little worry some that her personality can be summed up by: "Oh fire, pretty. Let's burn it all."

I'm not trying to be mean but I think this is going to create major problems within the story, not the fun conflict problems but the not so fun logistical problems of "how did this happen and how are we going to get everyone out alive" problems.
Yep, I do have some ideas.

Care to share?
Hey @Lugubrious whose the Captain of the Reclaimers? I mean obviously it's your character and you have yet to write the sheet otherwise it'd be in the Character Tab but do you have some ideas as to who he or she might be?
Oh hey guys, if you create a second character could you put it in the same post as your first one. It just makes the character tab easier to navigate.
My character started out when it was formed too. I re-did a few details. This mission is Gaius' first solo stint as a tactition. He was recommended by his father to the king when the group was being first formed. The king, remembering Gaius' father's talent and skill, quickly gave his approval.

You might want to add that to his bio as it is currently lacking the "Rationale" category.

No need to get fresh, Prince. We could easily have an encounter with a bandit group at the start of the Reclaimerss' mission, and get attacked, thinking we're easy pickings. As we turn the tables, we beat them, and a several of the brigands are captured. Since we don't want to run back to the capitol, we keep the captured brigands (really the more morally doubtful of the characters) and press them into watchful service for the kingdom as penance.

Sound good?

Sorry that sounded kinda rude, and I suppose that would work though I can't imagine the king being happy about it. Also we have one of the dark mages who explicitly stated that the character had no interest in joining the Reclaimers. What are we going to do with that?
Rationale:
Nothing in particular, really; Habeen really just wanted to see the world and practice and innovate her folk magic along the way. It's what she was sent to do, after all.

Yeah she really looks like she's rearing to go on that peace keeping mission. While we're on the subject why are we letting a Kingdom renowned infamous theft who targets all of the Basileus' friends and connections in his kingdom on our very important peace keeping mission? Not saying I don't want this RPer here but there has to be some logic to this.

Hey @Lugubrious are all the current starting characters people assigned to the Reclaimers by the king who founded the army. Cause so far my Syrena and Media Man's Jakobe are the only characters that explicitly stated that fact and the Rationale most people are putting forth make it sound as if they are those characters you encounter and recruit mid mission. Which means including your character we only actually have three people in the squad when it first starts out.
