Sapphire Rode - Doctor Oobleck's History Class

After talking with Ozpin Sapphire felt a little better though more than dissatisfied with the lack of answers and her own lack of participation. Something was going on, something big and the insatiable curiosity that within Sapphire demanded that she figure out exactly what it was. Of course there wasn't a lot she could do at the moment. Ozpin had listened calmly and told her he'd look into any connections between the boy and the Shelter as well as having Pops questioned about Sienna. Sapphire couldn't really ask for more than that though she sincerely wished she had more information about exactly what was going on. If only she'd been allowed to talk to the boy. His mouth was sewn shut but he'd shown the ability to manifest sound in the air, most likely he could speak with his semblance.

Sighing Sapphire set off for History class. He talk with Ozpin had delayed her from the last five minutes of math but her assignment was most done and she couldn't imagine anything else of interest had happened after she'd left. She'd finish up tonight and give it to Professor Fullbuster tomorrow morning. History was what she had to be concerned with now.

Sapphire was a bit late for Oobleck's class as such most of the seats were gone. She was forced to settle for one next to the red haired kid, Robert, if she remembered correctly though names generally weren't a priority for her unless they were mission related. Sapphire pulled out her sketch pad with the half finished schematic for the acrobatic enhancers she was working on, as she continued to sketch she'd glance up every now and again to see what was going on in the class. Generally this was how she got through academic classes, doing her own thing while paying a mild amount of attention to the teacher so that if they sprung a surprise question on her she would be able to answer without looking like a fool.

History itself was not exactly Sapphire's best subject. Math she didn't have a problem with, calculations had been part of her education even before her mother died. Sapphire's mother Melanie had attended Beacon. She and Janus had married a year after graduation. Once Oliver was born Melanie had decided it would be best that she retired from being a Huntress. Not that she became a housewife. Even at Beacon Melanie had been a tinkerer, she'd designed her own weapons and Janus' as well. After leaving the huntsmen she set up her own practice as an engineer. Sapphire remembered fondly the days she'd spend in her mothers workshop. Melanie showing her how various machines worked and as best you could explain to a seven year old the science behind each of them. After her mother's death Janus had hired private tutors so that Sapphire could learn the trade as well as her mother had. Though the girl in blue didn't have quite the same streak of genius she was still good with numbers and her inventions while perhaps not revolutionary were functional.

History on the other hand was a different story. Sapphire enjoyed reading but only specific types of tales. With History it was the same thing. If a period or event interested her she could devour all the information she could find on it and ace anything related to it perfectly. But if it was something she found boring generally she devoted herself to other things in class and performed poorly on projects and tests. While Doctor Oobleck talked about the Faunus Wars and various topics related too it Sapphire all but tooned him out as she concentrated on her design.
I know I've sort of made an ass of myself but am I still welcome here? This looks like an interesting RP.
Hmm, having a harem sounds pretty nice, not going to lie.

Nah, you'd be part of someone else's harem.

You could always take up detective work in your spare time, track down a dark shadow organization then get caught by them, poisoned with there new experimental drug and find that it's shrunk you back to first grade. Then start living with your still teenage love interest and her dad and solving all the crimes her father the lame PI can't.
Also, Shiro is written to be able to die. If that makes any sense.

I thought Shiro was written to get himself killed.
<Snipped quote by Lucius Cypher>

And Shiro dies five seconds afterwards.
Shiro and Sapphire should just duke it out.

Then hug it out later.

BIIIIG OL' TIGER BOY HUGGLE.

And suddenly everyone realizes that Sapphire has stabbed Shiro and is attempting to throw his body off herself.

Not sure about Shiro but I think a showdown, quite possibly a physical one is inevitable between Sapphire and Gren. While I like his character and Sapphire has some respect for his abilities as a huntsman the fact that he thinks he can do her job better than she can (and she knows he thinks so) is gonna start grating on her nerves at every turn.
As for you personally there's not much I can say that everyone else hasn't. Between you and me I think you're a great RPer with great characters, I'm just disappointed that we don't do as many joint operations together. Like somehow get Gren gather his friends and Sapphire to gather her friends, get them all together for some big pow wow party, get to know one another and all that jazz. Of course I'm at fault too since I did have it in my mind to have Gren be rather passive-aggressive against Sapphire and undermine her leadership purposely by excluding her from such things as the heart-to-heart just recently, but I never really gave you the option to have a say in it anyways.

Well I designed a character that doesn't particularly like pow wows and is bad at making friends so I guess we're both to blame. :)
By the end of it it was more about trying to prove I wasn't a total moron than anything to do with the actual argument. Which is exactly what I was feeling like more and more as it went on.
I think this is a major part of the problem, you tend to view things as isolated events. What was irksome has less to do with the specifics but more the principles and the behaviors, stuff you repeated later on in different contexts (Salt debate comes to mind). Which is why I honestly recommended taking the time to really read things when people complain. That when you can actually understand why people are annoyed or angry and then work to resolve those issues.

A little respect here and there can go a long way.

You have no idea how much I regret bringing up that debate and how much I wished I'd shut up after the first or second point was brought up against it. It was juvenile and in the long run not particularly important.
