"If you kill a man, you scorn his wife. If you kill his wife, you scorn her child. If you kill her child, you scorn his village. If you kill his village, you scorn the kingdom. If you kill the kingdom you scorn an empire. If you kill an empire, then who is left?"

"Tisk tisk." After being struck again by the meaty spell, the madman went postively. . .Well- Mad. Rushing through the group and making a beeline for Braud. Poor thing must not have noticed Mr. Sunshine standing next to him. As he rampaged forward, like some sort of feral beast with a grudge.

Sunshine worried for a scant moment about the mental condition of these fellows, what affect did this place have that drove them to this?

Now, just as the feral ran in front of him, he cocked back his leg and swung it forward with all of his force. Aimed directly for this thing's gut. Now, should it collide, Mr. Sunshine's kicks have more than enough force to send this thing flying straight into the wall. Not enough to break any bones, as they're all shattered anyway, but enough to lift it off of its feet hard enough to hurt. "Stay down, fellow! It will hurt less this way!"
A quick draw, aimed for his gut, nice. He had drawn with the right hand, which gave Mik the perfect opportunity to avoid it. When you draw a gun from your right side, that leaves the entire left side of your body exposed for a short period of time. As well, when you fire it directly forward from the right side of your body, there is a large gap in the area where the bullet will fly. These are things that Mik has learned from his countless days of training in the art of combat.

As well, Mik knows how to react to someone drawing a gun on him.

Taking a small and snappy sidestep to his right, he twisted his torso counterclockwise as the demon drew his gun. Leading himself into Azarak's left hand side and out of the way of the gun's barrel. Mik turned his own torso, to give an even wider berth from the gunshot and raised two of his three right arms upwards towards his side and neck. He laid out the uppermost hand flat in a chopping motion. The lower hand was balled into a fist, aimed at his new opponent's side. These are relatively slow strikes, and a quick backstep would be all it takes to avoid them.

In fact they're not even meant to hurt Azarak. If they do strike, they won't even leave a bruise.
The reactions between the two supers were wildly different, let's start with Doppler.

Benny looked about the room and realized that they were surrounded by a wide array of men and women, all of them were looking at him. And he realized pretty quickly that his anticipation to show of his superpower was proving to be pretty negative. How did they know, how did they know, can they read his mind? Can they read it exactly? Do they know he was nervous because he's anxious to show off his power? Or do they just know that he's nervous. Internally he was panicking, had he already ruined his chances to join up?! "I uh, yes, private rooms, uh. Sure, I would uh. Yes, let's go do that. Please don't kill me?"

His words were punctuated with a nervous and admittedly shrill chuckle. And damn it, he nearly threw up his heart when Khold started talking behind him. Benny wasn't expecting to hear someone's voice nearby. "I uh, you sh- Eheh." If he weren't trying to very hard to keep himself calm, Doppler might actually have started crying right about now.

Meanwhile, One's reaction was pretty calm. And in fact, she was starting to get frustrated.

The woman at the desk didn't answer her question, she just pushed a button to alarm the guards around the room. Who had been tasked at a previous time to surround anyone who's intent was suspect. "Doppler isn't evil, main desk woman. But you should answer One's question, please? One asked you how you could be of service, and you didn't answer. Please tell One, how you can help her." It's not that One is oblivious, in fact, quite the opposite. Empaths and psionics can weed around in people's heads, just like her. Though she can't quite read minds, she can talk to people. And she knows how that feels because she observed the feeling in first person. They had taken a few looks at her and felt around inside of her head.

This was evidenced by the empath's discomfort. Now, One didn't care that she was making the Empath uncomfortable. One had a question, and One wanted the answer. "Please tell One the answer to One's question?"
A man approached the spider man with little hesitation and no apparent reason, especially in the mdidle of the night. A bit suspicious ain't it? Mik didn't really question it, I mean, he's napping on a bus bench for no particular reason. "Belmont street?" Mik was actually poor at telling directions, that's a fun fact that I didn't actually expect to have come up in this RP. "You take a left up there at the thing, turn another left at the place with like two green signs. And then go forward for like, two or three blocks. All the while he was gesturing with his hands, and if there were Catholic Signer were around they would thave sworn he was signing in tongues.

Mik did not fail to notice his hand creeping towards the concealed weapon, though admittedly, he didn't really care about the weapon. Or if this guy decides to attack him, there's already two people fighting nearby. "The two of them over there seem to have supernatural abilities, so uh, you might want to head out there, pal. Lest you wind up in the crossfire."

He indicated over his shoulder to the two superhumans duking it out just a few feet away,it was quite evident that this fellow was focusing solely on Mik. Maybe he was here to kill him, or maybe he was just dumb. Sometimes people were just this dumb, that's why he doesn't use the internet anymore. They are insane, on a lot of levels. And significantly dumber than the general populace outside of the internet. Why is he thinking about this? He doesn't know, just stream of consciousness.
A weak rumbling was felt in the heels of his metallic boots, ringing all the way up the armor. LeeRoy was familiar with magic, you tend to get used to it after a few hundred years of living. You notice things that nobody else does. Anyway, LeeRoy pulled his sword back and released his grip on it with his left hand. Keeping the blade relatively level while doing this, he reached up to the top of his right hand and pushed the forwardmost button. This button's effect would play out shortly.

The ground began to splinter and shake more violently, this being had quite the prowess over earth. LeeRoy's button activated to its fullest extent, and the twin trhusters on his back kicked into gear. Pushing him upwards into the air and above the threat of dangerous shards of earth striking him. Above the ground he migrated and allowed himself to drift over the spines of stone. "I'm impressed. Magic is such a strange thing, and I argue constantly that manipulation over earthy materials would be superior to all others. See, because it's the most concrete, and least floaty."

LeeRoy actually cracked a smile behind his visor, he realized that he just said floaty. While he himself was floating.

LeeRoy's jetpack held him aloft, above the ruined ground below. "Now, I see why they let you in here!" With a noticably sarcastic tone and inflection near the middle. "You've got some neat little tricks, moleman. Sorry, but I'm gonna go ahead and call you Moleman. I've forgotten your name."
I can say one thing. You're the first person I've beaten on this site to give a dignified response.
Internally, Doppler was screaming at his own stupidity. Very dumb, Benny, very dumb. You have forgotten one crucial fact, Benny. You forgot the single most important thing, you moron! CHECK FOR FUCKING GLOVES! A loud nervous escape of air went through his nose, punctuated by a snort. At this point, Doppler just sort of chuckled and released the very tense handshake, only noticing after releasing that there was some exposed skin. Internal screaming at himself intensified shortly thereafter. Though his inhuman face did not entail much in the way of that emotion. It's kind of a perk when your face can't really express emotion in the first place.

One, however, just sort of walked inside. Tilting her head just slightly, the one in front of her was visibly unnerved by her presence. Maybe she can read minds? Or maybe she just finds One's appearance offenseive. Both are very real possiblities. "How can you help One?" She asked in response to her question, with an inflection on the word 'can,' She spoke and continued walking towards the desk, One placed her hands on the surface. Once she was within spitting distance of this woman, One just sort of stared at her. Expecting a response.

Benny just sort of backed inside of the building, looking at the bruisers longingly. Their powers seemed so appetizing, using them to show off his ability would have been so nice. He sighed and turned back around, looking at One at the front desk making the clerk uncomfortable. Benny took a deep breath and walked up to the counter, clearing his head and putting on a noticeably ugly smile. “Howdy, my name’s Benny, this is One. What do we do to become members?”
Cough cough fuckin' cough.
Alright, sorry Derp. It had to be done.
That strange pyromancer must have put great stock into his staff, believing that it could yield the swing of Overlord's blade. And for a scarce moment, it seemed that it would prove to be an obstacle , though that moment's hopefulness was soon dashed by the collision of the near-indestructible staff with the completely indestructible sword. As any one with a brain can imagine, the staff gave way under the might of the sword. Splintering it and making way for Overlord's infernal might to strike upon its weilder.

Once the sword broke through the staff, there would be very few moments for the fire mage to defend himself against the assault. The still burning blade slammed into Steve's midriff at full force, rending his flesh asunder and splintering his lowermost rib. That would be the least of his concerns, however, as the sword continued cleaving through his body. It hacked through his stomach and through every organ in its way, striking into his spinal column and burning the wound closed. His spine split apart, and so did the rest of his body, letting his lower half drop away.

Overlord released the blade with his right hand just before it went all the way through his foe's body, keeping his left hand on the handle. Just before the sword finished its journey, he grasped Steve's throat with his hand and lifted upwards. Hoisting his unavoidably dead foe's torso into the air, and staring straight at him. "Alright, so I would assume that is two down? Electric fellow, you killed the other boy, right?" In a calm tone, as though he wasn't holding his dying foe in his hand. The flames from his sword extinguished shortly after it came to rest.

Just to be totally clear here, this is why I wrote it this way:
