"If you kill a man, you scorn his wife. If you kill his wife, you scorn her child. If you kill her child, you scorn his village. If you kill his village, you scorn the kingdom. If you kill the kingdom you scorn an empire. If you kill an empire, then who is left?"

With a slight crunch he uncurled his fingers from around the ruined metal post, flecks of metal tinkled down to the floor. Something about crushed metal in his hand seemed hauntingly familiar, ideas bounced around but nothing concrete. No memories, just conjecture. Being fully versed in a language and knowing about battle, but knowing nothing about yourself is strange. With no readily available source of information, he wasn't having a good time and it was becoming very evident on his bearded face. The furrows in his brow deepened and his mouth turned into a sour little frown.

It seemed as though this woman had noticed his reaction to that word, she either knew its meaning and was dangling it before him like a scrap of meat before a hungry dog. Or she was a bitch and wanted to see a rise out of him. That too was a likely story, he leaned towards that being the truth. With the word fresh in his mind, and his opinion of this woman rapidly deteriorating, he raised his arm and extended a finger towards her.

Something about this pose shook him, it felt so natural, so right. As though it was something he had done many, many times before. His frown grew into a smile that crossed from ear to ear, his teeth bared and he began to speak. "You've shown me several times that you're an unsavory sort, and you've been creeping towards your weapons since this conversation began. So I've decided that I do not like you or your guts." Drawing his arm back, every muscle in his body tensed before he launched himself towards the Captainess. A leap rather than a charge, more momentum but less control. It didn't really matter in a location like this. Not a terribly huge area to move around. That meant less room for her to dodge.

So, the man with the funny looking everything aimed to drop a powerful arm bar on this woman. His right arm extended fully and all of his weight thrown forwards, where the arm struck was totally up to chance, but he was kind of hoping to hit her in the throat. It would at least shut her up for a little while.
Ah jeez I did it again, I double flaked. I called myself a flake and then flaked. My league of legends account got permanently banned, so I sort of got unreasonably mad for a few hours and didn't get to it.

I'll have the post up at like, noon-ish, maybe later depending on when I wake up.
The second I get home I'm catching up with all my standing roleplays.

How often does a person have to flake before his nickname becomes Dandruff?
@Takashi Just so you know, I posted a fair stretch back.
Tifa can beat a godlike being to death, the two just aren't comparable.
Well the way I had it work, was that it was a 1/3rdds boost to the energy, since it only added one Ring and he already had 2.
I like the way you worked it into his armor, rather than into his body. Making it less of a physical augment and more of an ability augment. This removes a major drawback, which I'm glad nobody ever acted upon, and at the same time removes a major boost that it grants.

The drawback being the distinct vulnerability to electrical attacks, and the boost being the obvious strength and speed boost.

It's interesting, and I do like how it's done.

Edit: The Word Engine itself causes a vulnerability to electricity because organs are encased or infested with metal, including the heart. A sharp electrical pulse would cause near instant cardiac arrest. So having it outside of the body, rather than inside, is an effective way to bypass this.

Edit 2: The Word Engine MK. 3 bypasses this in a separate way, by being integrated into a suit with a non-conductive casing.
Curiously enough, Mister Sunshine hadn't actually noticed that Tanzo had a tail. In fact he hadn't even noticed that he wasn't human, merely a humanoid creature. This really put a damper on his plans and made this whole ordeal a fair stretch more difficult than it would have been. If he had've gotten Tanzo on the ground, this fight wouldn't last much longer. Right now, however, he was likely to break his arm. There wasn't anything that he could do about that, and it would certainly make this whole ordeal even more difficult to deal with. A pickle like this was far too dill for his tastes, and Mr. Sunshine loves sour foods!

With the situation quickly turning bad, Brighton would have panicked if he were a lesser man. This is not the case, and Brighton actually came up with a brilliant solution to the current problem. Saving his arm was the first and most crucial step, though it might still break, he wouldn't be totally helpless. A broken arm is nothing to a man such as he. . . Alright, it's definitely something, but he'd like to think he'd be totally unphased.

Mid swing changes to the course of his fist would be difficult, especially with the short distance that it was actually traveling. However, he does have a very particular and keen reflex, making it possible but difficult. By shifting his weight back onto his right foot and pulling his left shoulder upwards, he changed the angle of his punch to not directly collide with Tanzo's frozen fist. Instead opting to break his own wrist instead of his arm, he let it clip against the side of his hand instead of directly against the knuckles. A sickening crack and a short yelp permeated the air as Brighton's vision and mind clouded. The spiked knuckles cut into his arm, a chill running up through his blood through both sides of his body. He would have joked about how it was getting cold in here, but right now he was more concerned with his follow up.

Not enough to just survive the initial attack, Sunshine had to reply a blow for a blow. With Tanzo's hand gripping his forearm and his leg already out from under him. Brighton had an opening. See, Brighton's strong. Really strong. He's wrestled cattle before and won, so he's got a pretty decent gauge of his own strength and willpower. So a good follow up would be to actually succeed at his previous attempt to topple Ryozan.

Tanzo's hand was still in its deathgrip on his arm, and his tail was capable of supporting his weight. However, his tail was likely not strong enough to withstand Brighton's upper body strength. So, Sunshine did something that Tanzo would never expect. With his wrist broken, he was now down a limb, and his right arm was being restrained. At least a little bit more than usual, though not fully restrained. Brighton let his right leg drop and pushed outwards with his left leg, while twisting his upper body towards Tanzo. At the same time, he also jerked sharply to the right with his right arm, now very much numb. This shifted his center of weight off to the right side of his body, and made all of that weight fall onto Tanzo's left hand. Likely not Tanzo's dominant hand. This would either jerk Brighton's arm out of his grip, or more likely, force Tanzo's weight onto his left hand side.

The side currently being supported by his tail.

If his happens, Tanzo would likely fall to the ground. Both losing his footing and his grip of Sunshine's arm.

@Takashi Starting with your post, I'll get it up in about an hour or so.
