It's something that I'm certain I'll ne'er fully understand, doesn't stop me from trying, but still.

If the story were interesting of course, that's what keeps people glued to the screen. It's all about how you present it to people, something about how you write it and what the content is that makes people interested in it. A complex multiverse can be something super broken or stunning from first to last post.

(Which is something that I fail to do, and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.)

I'm not saying that anything is being forced upon anyone, I'm just saying that there's the sort of people who intentionally throw wrenches like this into the machine to slow it down. Nor am I saying I'm hung up on anything about it, I can adapt to just about any situation or find a way to avoid it entirely. These are all theoretical concepts that I've encountered before in my own attempts to do Multiverse styled RPs before.

And with plot logic anything is possible, so there's not really an issue. Just a conversation on a topic not to uncommon to roleplay.

What would a suit that allows you to travel to a dimension made out of Anti-matter be made out of? It couldn't be matter, nor could it be anti-matter. What's left? Electro matter? Matter's badass grandpa?

In a shadow dimension you would probably have to devise some form of vehicle that's capable of permanent flight, as you literally could not touch anything there. It wouldn't work in an antimatter dimension because the gasses would be antimatter as well.

In a fuckall dimension it's one of those things that falls solely to theory and GM moderation, if the physics there make you die or worse you'd need some kind of contraption that allows you to defy nonsense physics. Which is even more nonsense than a dimension of nonsense.

1: Existing here would instantaneously kill your character. With a big explosion. Massive one.

2: Existing here would likely kill your character. Probably because shadow-oxygen isn't a thing.

3: Existing here would probably kill your character. Because breathing in would probably prolapse your lungs or something else zany or random.

Ah, there lies another issue. How would your character hold knowledge that they could not survive going to these places, even less likely is knowledge of these characters who are asshats?

Well here some of the most simple concepts to exploit:

1: Comes from a dimension composed entirely of Anti-Matter, which mind you is nearly impossible to fathom because of our surprisingly limited knowledge on how anti-matter functions, so now you can't touch them because the two of you will explode and annihilate each other in the process.

2: A shadow dimension (/Edgy dimension) where everything is shadows and you can't touch them because shadows aren't material. But somehow they can still touch you for some inexplicable reason. (Encountered more than once, is also common in media. Mostly animu.)

3: A dimension that follows laws inherently different from our own, where up is down and left is right. Things don't have to make sense because we can't comprehend them, so they're capable of doing fuckall because they invented the laws of their own dimension.

I have always wanted some manner of Multiversal RP without limitations, but even I understand that it's nigh-impossible to regulate.

(From an Arena standpoint at least.)

You'll have a character like Superman floating about dimensions when suddenly he stumbles upon Captain Jack Sparrow over here, then they get into a heated drunken discussion. Two and a half hours later they're either still duking it out because Jack Sparrow is now a super saiyan, or Superman has leveled half of Manhattan for some ungodly reason.
