Well, that's the point. Arrow may have sharp, but it's meant to be pokey. Spears also have sharp, but they're also meant to be pokey.

axe is chop, sword is cut

both have blade and sharp edge

chop and smash almost same motion

Schaft guess Peik have point

no pun intended

I was about ask, @Leidenschaft, would Aelos, or Ailos, be acceptable? The sounding of the name is what I'm thinking.

<Snipped quote by Peik>

If not, I may just use that name!

-os ending in names is mostly Greek

Also consider his family status and upbringing. For people like farmers and common tradesmen, names were utilitarian. You just gave your kid a name so he'd have something to be called by, nothing fancy.

Maybe, just maybe, you're putting too much thought into it. I'm sure it's the same with you girls looking at guys, but whenever I see an attractive female in public I never wonder if her name sounds ugly. Just skim the links and find something that sounds masculine enough.
I'm having a difficult time picking a name for my second character, any ideas for a handsome, blonde Nordic man? I was thinking Hjolf (pronounced Yuh-ulf), but I don't even nowhere to begin with names for men. >.>"

Some names in Skyrim, although very rare, are Baltic in nature rather than Norse. (Farkas, Vilkas. Note the -as at the end of the names that are Indo-European in nature, rather than Northern Germanic.)

http://www.20000-names.com/male_german_names.htm There's a character with a very pseudo-German name in-game. The man in question is named Avulsteinn, and IIRC, some Nords in Morrowind had German sounding names.

And that name there would be pronounced more like hyƶlf.
Here come those thieving Khajiit.

I'd classify axe as blunt, really. Swordsmanship manuals contain many maneuvers that you would be unable to perform with an axe.

But axe have sharp

@gcoldYay!
Assuming I receive the blessing of Schaft do I wait for the group to arrive in Windhelm before introducing my character?
Just not sure on the procedure on how to start.

Hang around the OOC until gcold updates the IC to get us to Windhelm.

@gcold

Will change those pretty soon; but it's Sylvanis who learnt restoration from Rhasha'Dar, not the other way round. Do you still want that spell removing?

No Sun Fire pls

Also, added stuff to Solveig's personality and changed some stuff in her bio. She never led a night raid and has never seen a pitched battle yet. The only fights she has under her belt are a few duels in the circle to first blood or until her opponent yielded.
Any new year resolutions?

My resolution is to keep being radical
@Leos KlienAlternatively, you could trade One-Handed Blunt for One-Handed Blade.

You could trade one of the handaxes for a knife, as well, a tried and true combination across the years.

Or just two big knives. Can never have too many knives.

We also seem to have a lot of addicts to something. What is it, three already?

It was supposed to be a zupan, actually.

I don't even know what that is

Edit: Oooooh, a medieval Polish shirt.
There's probably some tutorials online for that.

Anyways, Sadri looks like he's shaping up nicely. I'm getting a ninja vibe from the clothing choice.

Schaft, make sure you fix this sentence, in the first paragraph of Solveig's background.

The few stuff I managed to get from drawthreads were doodles. Cheers mate.

Maybe I should whip out my tablet more.

You probably should. Drawing's a pretty cool hobby that I wish I spent as much time on as I did writing. And yea, the drawthreads I mainly peruse are in /tg/ or /co/. The /b/ad place is somewhere I find I drifted away from the longer I spent on the site. Ironic, considering I went on 4chan because of it.
That your drawing, Schaft? Either way that's some fine art there.

Sadly, no. The art comes from some guy on a drawthread who was taking requests. I saved it a long, long time ago and I'm only using it now. I have a plethora of character portraits locked away for at least two years' worth of rainy days.
