Greetings Traveler!

Won't you stay a while, and spin a tale with me?

Welcome to Adventure Awaits! Together, we'll tell the story of one adventurer in a fantasy world of limitless opportunity, as we learn who they are and what they might accomplish. To do this, any and all people are welcome to hop in as players for as long as they'd like, making choices on behalf of our protagonist as they explore the world of Atros.

Every Sunday, a new page in the hero's tale will be revealed in the IC thread, along with several prompts, actions and/or responses for the main character to take. Throughout the week, anyone reading along can vote on the choice they'd like to see unfold by posting their vote in OOC. Sometimes a "write in" prompt will be available. In these cases, the players may either fill in the blank with a short (one-ish line) response of their own, vote for another player's response, or vote on an existing prompt if there are any.

As we continue along our little adventure, the Character Sheet thread will grow to keep track of the faces we've met along the way, and everything we learn about our player character. And as we learn more about the land our adventure takes place in, the lore here will expand as well.

Lastly, suggestions beyond voting are more than welcome! While I would prefer people not write in IC, all manner of possibilities, NPC ideas, places and invoking the "Rule of Cool" are all totally fine to discuss in OOC!

I hope to see you soon, because as they say...

@Zapdos

I imagine it would be a lot closer to the second example you have there, though I imagined the choice would be first-come-first-served rather than a vote. Perhaps voting would be better, so people don't feel like they have to race to reply. I definitely didn't plan to let people write full post responses like in your first example, but smaller write-ins were something I was considering.
Sweet! I'm glad this got some attention. Any amount of players will work, and I hope the player count will fluctuate as I play it out for everyone. So with that I can just get to work on an OOC later on tonight.
Hello everyone! I'm looking to run an idea that seems like it might be somewhat unique here on RPG. Simply put, this rp would function as a "Choose your own Adventure" style game, where the players would choose from a selection of action and dialog prompts after each post of mine, to direct and advance the narrative that I would write for you all, similar to something like the Goosebumps CYOA books.

Here's the kicker though, I would keep this roleplay open to any and all players who want to jump in for a bit, tag along for however many prompts, and otherwise come and go as they please. Everyone would "play" as the same single protagonist character, and I would accept choice selections from anyone who replies, no sign up required.

As for plot ideas, I'm still in the beginning stages of an idea, but I'm thinking to start with a simple medieval fantasy dungeon crawl. After that we can just "go from there" based on whatever we end up with, and we would discover who the player character is over the course of playing the game.

So yeah, would anyone be interested in this? I know there isn't a grandiose world-introduction segment of writing here or anything like that but... I imagine it's something we'd all come up with together as we play.

OOC is here

This sounds awesome! I love the lore rich setting here, and I've been itching to plah some kind of mage recently. The only two things I either missed or otherwise didn't see were the technology level of the world, and the racial make up of its inhabitants. Is this a modern fantasy setting, with technologies similar to ours today? Or is this more of a medieval fantasy? And from what I could gather it seems like there are only humans here, right? No elves or dwarves or anything else?

It does work this way for me already. Not sure if it's something you or browser specific, but I am on Firefox if that helps anything.

Yeah it just worked for me being notified by your quote. It doesn't work for new posts in pm's though.
I'm sure this has been suggested already but, I'd like if clicking a thread or pm link in notifications took you to the most recent message (the message that caused the notification) rather than the very beginning of the thread/pm.
