"Well as far as brains go, I've got the lion's share. But when it comes to brute strength, I'm afraid I'm at the shallow end of the gene pool." - Who?

Quay watched and listened to the Kingsguard with an impassive look on his face. Intruged by that the man was saying, Quay focused on his words. Although most of what the man said we're parables and monographs, some of the man's words got to Quay. They were human, fragile creatures fighting a war against supernatural creatures, some of them were blessed with magical powers, but nothing compared to the monsters that they fought against.

Quay sighed, laughing bitterly at the situation that humans had been thrust into. Some called the non-humans darkness, evil, so what did that make them, light? If he was not mistaken, humans performed more atrocities than the supernatural did. There is a reason why the sang, 'it's just human nature' exists.

"Rouen, do you know why this war started, and why no one has attempted to stop it through peaceful means? Quay asked, placing his free hand in pocket and walking forwards abit, glancing at the ceiling.

"Hundreds of years of wae, we will soon approach a millennium of war, and yet, nothing." Quay said exasperatedly, laughing bitterly at the situation that they were in.

"My father, despite actively trying to stop this war, nothing has ended. We send thousands of men to the front lines, ripping them away from their families, only to gain a few miles on the enemy before facing a new monstrosity." Quay began to pace back and forth, both his hand cupped his back as if he had been arrested.

"I don't want my rule to end up the same way if my father fails to end this war. Do we even, know why they rebelled against us?

Quay sighed, raking his hand through his hair. "Tomorrow I will head to the battle field in place of my father, meet the generals, and lead are armies. I'm not afraid to lead, nor am I afraid of the fight, I fear what will happen if we fail. If the plan I want to execute fails, what happens to the kingdom. Quay chuckled bitterly.

"I apologize for throughing my anxieties upon you, my fears are unfounded and based on dream. Well, that is your answer, this is what is keeping me up. Quay said taking a deep breath, boys his age were running around with woman or studying for a profession, yet he was thinking about the kingdom and the war he was going to fight. Funny.

Sucks that the Two teams can't meant. Wanted to yell something like "OBSERVERS UNITE!" Maybe one day.

Quay's steps echoed through the sleeping halls of the Palace. Despite the Palace being spick and span at all times, Quay could smell death in the air, he knew that he was just apprehensive, the 'death' that he smelled was dampness that the rain brought which hung thick in the air.

Quay sighed, his dream played over and over again in his head. Trance in flames, the Kingsguard dead, and his father kneeling before the Overlord, a blade deep in his stomach. Quay shook his head in defiance, coolness was his birthright, dwelling over the impossible would do him no good.

Quay found the Armory fairly quickly it's iron double-doors oh so familiar to him. The guard that stood at the door bowed low and opened the door for Quay.

"My Prince." The guard said through his helmet, head down.

Quay simply nodded, despite the fact the guard wouldn't see him do it. He quickly walked past the guard and stepped into the Armory, the wooden floors creaking under his weight. He walked among the rows of weapons, hundreds of weapons, all made for the war effort. Quay picked out a random Rapier, it was wicked sharp, and it's cold steel glistened in the dim light.

"This will do." Quay mumbled to himself despondently.

He quickly left the Armory and waved for the Guard to close the large door. As he walked away from the Armory the deep, grutle voice of Rouen stopped Quay in his tracks. It was the Kingsguard job to protect the Royal family, the man had every right to be concerned and know about his whereabouts.

"Can't sleep, decided to practice my sword play in preparation for tomorrow. Quay said, raising up the blade for the Kingsguard to see. Quay had known this man since he was a baby, and yet, it never ceased to amaze him how he still lived, the man was and old timer when he was born apparently.
Perhaps a new volcano (or three) will come up somewhere. All of which include personal forges for yours truly. And business will be booming. Hopefully.

<Snipped quote by LokiLeo789>

Of course, we'll get to all of that! :3

Well that makes me feel better ha. Someone has to attempt to end this century long war.
@LokiLeo789 Well, it's a war that's been going on for centuries, so obbiously he can't be on the frontlines all the time, but he'll go there without a doubt.

Of course, I understand that, but their at least should be talk of war, the front lines and what not. I just want to get that clarified.
Yay! Timeskip!
If this is a war, shouldn't their be a front line, shouldn't the King on the battle field? I would love to get into that. Gives me something to post.
