The problem with jokes is that whether or not they're funny is entirely subjective

So, after posting in the video game thread, it dawned on me that RPG is missing a culinary thread to chat about food and share cooking tips and tricks. And with how many people were/have been taking up cooking, baking, etc. during the Covid-19 pandemic, I figured now more than ever would be the best time to make such a thread to discuss what goes on the kitchen, the grill or wherever you might be whipping something to eat and/or drink.

I'll start us off: What's for breakfast/lunch/supper?

We had some toasted BLTs just a moment ago. Had a bunch of bacon given to us by a family friend of ours, so we needed something to do with it. With some farmer's market tomatoes, it was pretty satisfying even with the minimum effort needed to make a BLT.
Still actively posting
Does anyone ever bother to go through their game backlog on Steam? I've got all these games from bundles, like HumbleBundle, that I still need to go through, but I always end up playing the same select few games every time.
@Moro@Vicier@TGM Hey, can we get the seating chart and other important info (like the school map) posted in the zeroth posts for easy access?

Interacting With: Ash & Micky @TGM@alexfangtalon Location: Lacrosse Field

"Micky? Like the mouse?" Scout asked with a straight, unfazed expression on her face. As she waited for Micky's reaction, Scout cracked a slight smile. "Just joshing with ya. Scout; nice to meet you, too."

Before either could say anything else, however, her cousin, Ash, approached the duo, and interjected herself into the conversation. Her words reeked of moody pessimism—they always did, at least for the incredibly short time Scout had known her cousin—yet regardless Ash had a point. It didn't make sense. What exactly was the school trying to prove here? Was this all some big play or trick to hype up the student body for the new school year? To entice school spirit or similar?

Maybe she was just over thinking things. But it didn't change how foreign and out of place everything felt to Scout.

"Figure you'd at least be used-tuv-it, Ash. But this festival is certainly sumpt—something," Scout paused, biting her lip as she corrected herself. "So what do I know?"

Glancing at the festival, Scout turned to her cousin and Micky. "Ennaway, you guys want to do something, or what? Might as well enjoy it while we've got time, I'spoze."

I just sent out the discord links if you're interested. Maybe have the OOC up this weekend, get everyone going on a CS before we post the rest. Most of the big pieces are nearly finished.

Actually, I think I'll pass. But thanks regardless!
I'll keep an eye on this, maybe.
This is a question I've posed myself multiple times throughout the course of my RP career. Within tabletop, the concept of a character being injured or even outright dying isn't so much an issue. Sometimes you just get terrible luck with a bad roll and your character gets hurt. But with freeform RP, be that the style of roleplay we mainly write here on the guild, the idea of a character being killed off or injured is left to the player rather than fate/the luck of the dice. And when it comes to roleplays such as zombie apocalypses, low fantasy medieval, etc. (just to give a few examples), this can be a problem, where the danger and the possibility of injury/death is very real yet the character cast generally tends to remain unscathed albeit perhaps shaken at most.

So, my question is: how exactly should character injury and death be handled in a roleplay where it is a possibility? Is your only option, without resulting to dice that is, is to hope your players aren't shy of their characters potentially getting hurt?
