Bio

Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.

Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.

Rather than a closed space like the Compound of Eyes, full of frenetic, almost psychedelic action, Clotho and her constructs now met on a crude structure crafted from hive material and a large, leafy branch into a balcony. Though this place's position about halfway up the King of the Forest afforded it a decent view of the surrounding area both above and below, it lacked any semblance of fresh air or warm sunlight. The air around the King Tree had grown thicker, suffused by new gases produced by the strange organisms living on and within the wood, reflecting the corruption of the jungle colossus into the lair of the Swarm Keeper. Clotho had found there was no keener satisfaction than casting her influence over the world around her. Only an hour had passed since she had ruminated on the defeat of her raiding party in Virens, but that time had not been spent idly.

"Our foe knows of us and our intentions," she addressed Invicta and Baudrii without turning around, instead watching a group of Myrmidons sparring one another on the forest floor hundreds of feet below. "They are led by a heroine. The last foray from Virens to make it here never returned to tell the tale, but I do not doubt that the Biomancers will find me again." The sigil of their power -the viridian amber- was, after all, part of her now. "If this hero, this bold paragon, chooses to engage me, I can think of no greater pleasure than changing her into a monster as well. This time they won't send two dozen men on a rescue mission. We must be prepared." Finally, Clotho turned and faced her constructs. Her resolve was evident on her features, and the readiness to obey evident on her commanders'. She still found it interesting that Baudrii, having parted his fearsome carapace armet like a knight's visor, still had very human features beneath. Humanity beneath the insect shell was, however, a trait they did not share.

"Still, we must not let any assault distract us from our purpose. While we defend ourselves, Virens will send out for reinforcement and warn others. They will find new supply lines and organize their defenses. To allow that to happen would be a tactical atrocity." With a chik her stinger extended, a pinkish fluid seeping slowly from its tip. "The new alchemist hasn't been very helpful, but his apprentice certainly knows how to curry favor. She's twice as clever as her doddering old master, who seems somewhat mentally scarred by recent events. Regardless, my growth hormone has been somewhat improved, and after allowing it to be absorbed into the spawning chambers the rate at which my children hatch and grow will be increased to acceptable levels. I will also begin work on a third species, more versatile than the last two, and hopefully finish before any marauders arrive. You, Invicta, will first oversee the introduction of the hormones to both the Myrmidon Nest and the Antlion Colony before organizing the defense. If the Myrmidons are doing as instructed, this should already be complete. Baudrii, you will both keep anyone from disturbing me in my Heart and take charge of communications. If the alarm is raised, coordinate with Invicta to drive them off."

"That is all. Understood?" Clotho's wings perked up and resumed their rapid beating, and after her Constructs voiced their assent, she was off. Hastily she entered her Heart chamber and climbed into her newly-reformed Cocoon, where she drifted into the dreamlike state where she brought her plans to life.

Oh. Whoops.

Guess you really need to post then.

Here's the scoop: Jira surprised Felicia by suddenly falling in love to her, getting rejected via a fish-slap to the face, and then hosting a several-hour long dance session in which he became monstrously rich but then got robbed. Frore was touched by a little girl who got minor frostbite and started crying, setting off the town. A fairy named Lethe, who is very plot related and is trying to recruit people to 'save the world', appeared and transported Frore and the being in his shadow into a graveyard. Veitaru stumbled into the graveyard and Magus is heading there after brokering a deal with the Kokiri potion maker Mila with Naklov nearby. Kaiver has pissed off Izzazz and an NPC.
Now I really regret not doing my survey in character. I may redo the whole thing in that fashion just for fun.

Can anyone tell me what has happened so far? Please and thank you.

Well, if you're looking to join, I can tell you now that Baklava has closed entry. Personally I've never seen the point of closure, but the OP's word is what goes. If you want to experience the story, I'd recommend reading it in full, but I'll still give you a synopsis if you like.
What Fun! I will, however, be excluding all characters whose players have abandoned the rp.

1.
Felicia - lawful good - seems like the average civilian, nice and considerate to others and without any hint of malice
Kaiver - neutral good - a positive force for humanity that despite being an upholder of justice might resort to more dire acts to protect those he cares about
Naklov - lawful good - the classic elderly wise man who aids the heroes in their stand against evil
Jira - lawful neutral - no real affiliation but to himself and his trade, but clearly stands on the more righteous end of the scale given his demeanor and actions
Izzazz- chaotic neutral - a tendency for violence and isolation put Izzazz close to the spectrum of evil (particularly when feral), but he really isn't a bad guy
Idris - chaotic good - though obligated to the royal family, Idris's personality -including his wanderlust- would indicate that he is far from a paragon of good
Mila - lawful good - the very embodiment of innocence and good intentions, though not naivety
Veitaru - lawful evil - a thief, capable of dark deeds, but bound by an innate sense of honor
Magus - true neutral - abstaining from the normal scale of good and evil, Magus's struggles are with himself and the world, and while he is definitely not nefarious he doesn't lean toward the good side either in my opinion. Somewhat like a machine.

2. (From Cain's standpoint)
Felicia - useless civilian
Kaiver - respectable warrior
Naklov - liability
Jira - goofball
Izzazz - dangerous, untrustworthy warrior to keep an eye on
Idris - loose cannon
Mila - child prodigy
Veitaru - little sister
Magus - a way to further Cain's agenda

3. (From Cain's--Frore is, after all, only three years old)
Favorite food - "Back home, we have flowering plants called Inkhearts. When their bulbs are harvested and properly seasoned, there is no cuisine as fine."
Least favorite food - "Whether roasted, fried, boiled, mashed, or otherwise prepared, Shadow Vermin are nothing short of abominable."
Favorite animal - "The Gohma present in my homeland; I guess they remind me of me."
Favorite person - "Definitely my mentor, Udo. Though he was unloved by most, the previous Royal Spymaster taught me everything I knew from stealth to claw fighting, and I valued him immensely. My only regret is not being able to learn his dark magic spells; I remain limited to close-quarters combat."
Talents - "I pride myself on my ability to gather information. When it comes down to it, I am also an excellent fighter if I do say so myself."
Dream house - "When I was young I always wanted to live in the Twilight Palace. As the Royal Spymaster I've explored every inch of it; it is a dream come true."
Dream job - "My first aspiration was to become a shaman. The magic of my people enraptured me when I was young, and I wanted nothing more than to become our tribe's greatest practitioner of it. This passion faded away in time...though recently forgetting my desires hasn't been so easy."

I really like Mila so far. Lance is doing an excellent job writing for her. She seems so genuine. Not much more can be said than that.

5.
I predict that everyone drowns in the end. I hope we see some excellent dungeons and fights, particularly bosses.
Much appreciated!

You still here, Kangutso?
The only reason I see why there wouldn't be every chance is whether or not you'd stay. This RP has had more than the usual share of dropouts, some of those who jsut joined recently.
I think we can leave this whole business behind us and come out a little bit wiser. No use in beating a dead horse.

On another note, I must admit that I am taking a cue or two from Sherlock with Cain's personality and abilities. Analytic, brilliant, manipulative. Hopefully will make up for him not having a corporeal body. I trust that I'm not being too metagamey with my deductions? My general plan is for Cain to have an educated guess about what's going on, but also include other possibilities and a few mistakes to avoid just always knowing everything, which is not fun for anyone.
Throughout the brief exchange between the Gerudo and the fairy, Frore had remained as motionless as an ice sculpture and Cain as silent as death. Working covertly for so long had taught Cain the value of quiet, particularly when someone with greater power was considered to be his employer--even if this 'greater power' was only perceived. The Twili had been mentally picturing how Lethe would react if he swatted her down with his trichomancy before she had darted behind Frore for protection, after which he had been snickering at the irony of it. The impudent little fairy turned tail and hid behind the candid Chilfos when threatened, not unlike him. The knowledge that Lethe put up a convincing, bold facade but did in fact share the flightiness of her kind would be useful in the future. Now, however, she wasn't the target of his attention; that belonged to the Gerudo. He set his analytic eye to the task.

It seemed that this girl was as brazen, if not more so, than Lethe. Just six years old by his estimation and already apparently a master thief and a paragon of righteousness. Not robbing normal folks? Beating down 'macho types' to make them respect her? Either this girl hosted a vast, hidden power or she was a charlatan. Perhaps both. Whichever it was, he resolved to get to the bottom of it. After noting that the girl didn't react when openly called 'sly', indicating that she was used to name-calling to a degree (or had self-esteem so low that no jibe could do more damage, but the former seemed more likely given her assertiveness) he waited until Lethe made her final question before sweeping in to see how clever this little bandit was. "Oh, I wouldn't bother with that one," he addressed Lethe breezily, as if Veitaru couldn't hear. "I've seen her type before. All talk, no game. Couldn't rob us if she tried. Justifies her life of crime by self-imposed limitations. What does she care about greater purpose, saving the world and life as we know it?" If she was contrary, she might decide to tag along simply to spite him. If she was proud, he might set her to thinking that he was one of those 'macho types' and goad her into showing off her abilities. Even if she just left in a huff, he could simply rise from her shadow and pretend to attack her.

"Besides, with your magical talents behind us, I can take the form of any of Hyrule's people and go anywhere without being detected or judged. What use do we really have for a snippy, hypocritical little girl?" Frore, somewhat in sync with the being within his shadow, gestured dismissively with his off hand while thoughtfully keeping the ring held tight.. This, hopefully, added to the impression that it was the Chilfos speaking.
I'm going to be making a small interaction post tomorrow morning. I am saying this because I will regret not making it the proper length.
I am going to be traveling starting tomorrow, but where I am I will have internet access and there should be no disruption.
