Bio

Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.

Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.

A few short posts coming, from Senpai, RBY, and me alike I assume. A collaboration could have probably prevented this, but given the level of competence displayed by everyone here, I'm sure a few little ones are alright.
"Destiny!" Cain announced loudly, seizing the attention of both the befuddled Hylian and the spooked Skull Kid. He moved about a foot backward and raised his hand like a showman, both to indicate that what he was saying was important and that he meant them no harm. The words that would leave his spectral lips in the next few seconds were vitally important in determining whether or not Angus and perhaps the strange child as well joined the cause. Naturally, he was banking on the fact that his luck with finding people would continue. A quick analysis of his garb provided an appropriate substitute for his name. "Tell me, craftsman, and you, masked one: were you drawn here to Kakariko by mysterious voices whispering in the night?"
So yeah, setting down is probably the best option.
And I'm in. We have such a cast of characters with us; I'm very excited to be a part of it.

Oh, and was I right about the team composition? Or did you leak something you didn't really plan to reveal? No worries. If you're looking for a way to come up with team names, I recommend Word Hippo.com. Just search for words containing the four letters you want and you're set. I learned eventually that the results you get will depend on what order you put the letters in, though, so don't be afraid to be very thorough.
Honestly, Abel was insulted.

Wasted potential? Searching for direction? He had both. Five years alternating between guarding the wall of Vale as his family had done for generations, combined with both formal and combat education at the school in nearby Pallisade Town, had afforded him plenty. From conversations he had overheard on the airship ride here -after getting over his amazement at flying for the first time in his life- some of the students came from more protected schools like Flare or Signal. He hailed from the edge of the civilized world. The others had only learned the rudiments about monsters in their books and gotten a taste of fighting in their gym classes; Abel had killed a Beowolf before he even began to be taught. Of course, he had been enraged at his brother's death enough to blindly throw himself at the monster with no thought for his own safety, but that was then. Now, he was a Guardian, like his parents and their parents before them.

Protecting the kingdom of Vale, however, would only go so far. He was here to become a Hunter, to learn how to track down the monsters and kill them before they could challenge man's defenses. That was his purpose, and no unenthusiastic headmaster could belittle it.

After the brief, halfhearted speech, Abel left the auditorium with the rest of the students. He was forced to take extra care to make sure he didn't accidentally trip anyone with his weapon. The Ampere had no collapsible features or travel mode, meaning it would never be less than 5'5” of potential hazard to everyone around him.

It didn't take long for the quiet boy to spot others that were far less careful with their weaponry than he. The flash of a boomerang in the morning sun caught his eye, and he watched with interest as the weapon missed its intended target only to arc back around and strike him in the head, just below his fluffy, pointed dog ears. A faunus? He didn't know much about them (only two that he knew of lived in Pallisade or served as Guardians in his district, and both of those had been owl fauni) but he knew they were generally disparaged from normal people. Was this girl attacking him doing so because of his heritage? Or was there something more? Abel stopped walking and watched, one hand in his pocket and one rested on his weapon's shaft, as the instigator threw her arms around another girl that the faunus had been talking to. His brow furrowed when Oliver's face began to turn angry, and he considered walking over to make sure that the situation was resolved peacefully.

Instead, someone else immediately beat him to it. A pale, heavily scarred boy in purple rushed in and grabbed the boomerang-thrower' arm. Some more dialogue followed, but Abel couldn't hear it over the general drone of the excited students everywhere. He continued to watch frowning, planning to intervene if things escalated. The last thing everyone needed was a brawl on school grounds before it even officially began.

Accepted! Now I just gotta figure out how to work that into YST...TAYS? Taze?

Taze (TAYS), Yeast (YAST), Stay (STAY), Astray (ASTY), Steady (STAY), Stingray (STAY), Stray (STAY), Typecast (TYAS), Shanty (SATY), Satyr (SATY). A few of those are definite reaches, but since CRDL is Cardinal and CFVY is Coffee I think we can take liberties. I presume that means Abel is destined to be on a team with Yael, Silver, and either Tai or Trico.

Am I free to post?
I'm both some frightened and somewhat smug that my inclusion has prevented Lucius from fulfilling his density.

On a related note, meet Abel.

Name: Abel Fulgurate
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Weapon: The Ampere, a unique polearm with a wide, flat blade rather than a spearhead along with a steel pole. It has both range and lethality, keeping most melee fighters at a range safe for Abel but devastating to them with a tempered steel point, as well as channeling Abel's natural aura far better than he can do by himself. The Ampere has a single alternate mode that splits the wide blade into four parts and reverses their direction, creating a vaguely mace shape. In this mode, the Ampere can release bolts of lightening that travel impressive distances instantly.
Semblance: Called 'surge', Abel's semblance allows him to project electricity that can manipulate the Ampere at short range without touching it and summon it back to his hand when disarmed, as well as channel electricity to shock anything the weapon touches. By using Surge to rotate his staff quickly at very close range, he can create a sort of shield.

Oh my God we can play as Ghirahim, Zant, and Ganondorf in Hyrule Warriors. Yes.
Oh, sorry about the delay, I missed your question. I was not planning to have her catch anything.

Concerning my lack of posting iC, I thought it was FOO's turn in the post cycle.
The sudden arrival of what appeared to be a throwing knife where his ethereal hand was startled Cain somewhat. Of course, the blade merely landed, hilt-first on the ground where his two-dimensional form rested, totally harmless--to his body, at least. He whirled around to find its source, and witnessed the little Skull Kid that had evaded his notice. How had he not seen this?! Huge hat, gaudy colors, and a flamboyant yellow mask. The feeling of being ambushed and losing control over the situation sparked a little rage within the Twili. He was better than this!

Now that the strange, knife-happy child had noticed him and attacked him, there was no point in subtlety. Cain rose into half-bodied form from the shadow of a nearby, unmarked gravestone, still mercifully unnoticed by Angus, and plucked the dagger from the ground with a hand made of hair. Once the tiny weapon was palmed, the hand reverted into standard shadow. With it went the dagger, becoming as intangible and ethereal as the rest of him. This was how he ate and collected rupees in the World of Light; small objects could be converted into shadow as long as he held them, but they turned back the instant they left his touch. Now able to properly handle the knife, Cain pocketed it. He chided the frightened child in a restrained tone. "Now, now. Is that any way to treat a friend?" Since he was floating only a few feet from Angus, Cain knew he would hear and discover him, and decided to put up with the consequences.
