Bio

Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.

Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.

I think that Tai, Beliya, and Chris would all be pretty good parters for Abel. Any of you up for it?

Looks like Blake is available too xD he has a spear with a shotgun on the end that helps him move but his main focus is his big ass tower shield and forcefields.

Sounds like he's all about defense.
Abel wields the Ampere, a sword on a stick with an alternative mode that basically makes it a lightning staff. Check the character sheet for more info. I've envisioned him fit for the role of point man or tank due to his size, strength, and ability to take punishment.

Well, I'll be picking the teams, but I won't stop you guys from picking who you get paired with first in the forest. So you can settle that for yourselves once I figure out the teams.SPOILER: We aren't going into the Emerald Forest.

I see.

...so, any volunteers for my pal Abel?

The movie? Or the sketch?

The one roleplay you're still in.

Thanks. Also, love the signature. That was my favorite sketch from that movie. Also, I wasn't in that many. I was in only three, now I've shaved it down to just one, so I know it's not a burnout. As I said, I think gaming is what killed my inspiration.

Is that one not Heroes of Beacon?
Jess didn't wait for the Duskull to translate anything else for Bailey. "A bird Pokemon! Small, brown, don't know its name but off she went," she exclaimed hurriedly. It seemed that she had decided that Santalune City couldn't wait; after making sure that Belial was on her heels, Jess took off in the direction of the town in an ungainly sprint. "Catch up!"

She was out of breath when she arrived, but she was forced to hold it again in awe as she beheld the magnificent brazen statue at the settlement's center. Upon rushing toward it, she discovered the water within was as clear as crystal, and she splashed it on her face with both hands to help refresh herself. After doing so, and letting the invigorating droplets slide down and drip from her chin, she became aware of a chuckle from behind her. "First time in Santalune?" She heard, and she turned around to face the owner's voice.

The first thing she saw was a Pokemon that stunned her simply with its looks. It was a big one, with four legs and long arms with huge, nasty-looking claws. Its body was segmented into deep purple and lavender sections, but that made it look no less fearsome. Despite its appearance, the ferocious creature seemed at peace, looking right at her but making no move to attack. Jess wondered if the Pokemon was so powerful that it could talk to people.

Immediately after, Jess noticed its trainer, and cursed herself for her stupid thought. The young man that had spoken to her was sitting at the Ogre Scorp Pokemon's side, one leg straight across the ground and the other's knee raised. He wore a white hoodie with purple highlights and black track pants striped with blue. His face, though lined in stubble and sporting large sideburns, was a friendly one. "No," Jess answered him cheerily, trying to calm down Belial, who had gone crazy when he saw the bigger Poison-type,"But I didn't notice the fountain or you last time. What Pokemon is that?" The trainer, happy to display his knowledge, began to inform her all about it. Though initially interested in what she learned was a Drapion, Jess quickly grew bored. Where the heck are the others?
Though Ozpin's words sparked trepidation in some, Abel only felt his resolution harden. He had proved at Pallisade that he had what it took to succeed without stepping stones and freebies. If the program at Beacon was as rigorous as he was led to believe, it would be very effective in weeding out the less talented, less motivated students. Some would fail and some would quit, but he would remain. His grip on the Ampere tightened, and he felt the electricity running between steel and flesh. Abel Fulgurate believed in destiny, and becoming a Hunter of legend at this institution was his.

"Might as well," he remarked after Nevin offered to take him and Maggie exploring. While he had become more familiar with Nevin during their search for a vending machine, he still had no clue who this pretty raven-haired girl was except for her name. She certainly seemed hyped to be here. Given Abel's inclination to not speak unless spoken to, though, he decided not to say anything. Instead, he took a good look at the crowd around him.

One face jumped out at him. Nearby, one of the soon-to-be students that had been listening to Ozpin as if his life had depended on it stood, leaning on a crutch. This guy was dressed in dark brown and black embroidered with gold thread--either he was very classy or very extravagant. His shoulder-length hair masked a sharp, intense face, with bright green eyes. Muttering to himself, the boy turned around and shouldered past another kid, who was dressed in green with leaf patterns and bore features that made him look very young. After the littler boy piped up with an indignant "Ow," the older boy turned halfway around to apologize before limping away.

"Guess there are all sorts here at Beacon," Abel observed.
So Irish, given that you'll have our teams planned beforehand, are you going to tell us who we're going to meet and make eye contact with when we are catapulted into the Emerald Forest?
When Abel first awoke -at roughly the same time Tai was finishing with his morning routine- his vision was bleary. He blinked a few times but it didn't help. The easy, soft rays of early sunlight were well upon him, making him too warm to fall asleep again comfortable. A quick look at his feet confirmed why: the lovely, cool sheet had been given to spend the night in lay off the edge of the mattress, kicked there in his sleep. The boy grumbled, wondering exactly why this kept happening. Did he have a terrible, frightening dream during the night? Or perhaps a very good one? Abel certainly didn't remember his dreams, much to his chagrin. All he ever woke up with was the unhappy, confusing feeling that he had forgotten something important. Rolling over, Abel screwed his eyes shut and decided that he would try to go back to sleep.

It was at that moment that he remembered why he was here. The first day of the rest of his life had dawned, and by God he wasn't going to miss it. Galvanized into action by the thought of the trials ahead, he kicked his legs and sat straight up. For a moment his head swam, but as his sight cleared he got a good look around. About half of the other students were awake by now -he noticed the crazy faunus-attacking girl huddled in a corner of the ballroom, for instance- and a few of them seemed freshly showered. Abel raised an eyebrow. He didn't know that this place had public showers, much less where they were. He settled for wildly brushing at his hair to remove any dust or dander and shaking out his clothes. Once he deemed them sufficiently clean by his admittedly low standards, he pulled on his hoodie and wrap and slipped on his boots.

Leaving the Ampere behind, he left the ballroom to find a drinking fountain. Once there, he took a deep sip, and splashed more onto his face to help wake him up as well. It wasn't coffee, but it would do. When he turned around, he almost bumped into a boy standing right behind him, apparently in line for the fountain. Abel's words momentarily caught in his mouth when he saw that the boy was holding the Ampere. "Hey," he said, indignant, "What are you doing? That's mine!"

Sheepish, the boy held it out, and Abel grabbed it from him. Once Abel held it in hand once more, he looked at the boy more carefully. He wore simple pajamas, a long-sleeved shirt and pants, both deep green and covered in leaf designs. His hair was blonde and his eyes blue, and while he was only a few inches shorter than Abel, his features made him look much younger. "I thought you had forgotten it. It's very nice and I didn't want you to lose it." For some reason, Abel was inclined to believe him. He just seemed so...innocent.

"Ah...thanks, I guess. What's your name, kid?"
"I'm not a kid, I'm sixteen. And my name is Pan." He crossed his arms. "You look tough," he appraised, "But you won't get anywhere on a team if you're rude to people."
"Hey, I'm not rude. People just don't do nice things like that usually."
"Maybe you ought to believe in people more." Pan stepped past Abel to take a drink. He seemed to the Guardian like a smart guy, and his heart was in the right place, but he was naive. Abel left him at the fountain and returned to the ballroom for lack of a better place to go. While somewhat nervous, his excitement was far stronger. He awaited any sort of announcement eagerly.
