Bio

Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.

Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.

Anybody fond of quirky school-based RPs?
In that case I will begin working on mine.
While I'm definitely looking forward to this, I think I'll wait to commit before a couple others join first. After that, you have my dedication.
Any concerns Abel had about exactly how well Gren's junkmobile was going to work melted away as the engine revved up. The haphazard vehicle lurched into motion; the guardian almost slammed his head against Kuhaku's. After the narrow miss, he looked out into the darkness, witnessing vague shapes pass by. So far, so good. After a few second of struggling to get into a more natural position within the confines of the buggy, Abel gave it up and contented himself with watching the circle of light in the distance growing larger and larger.

The bright daylight played a number on Abel's dark-adjusted eyes, but as soon as he regained full vision he beheld the familiar scarlet trees of Forever Fall. Before he could enjoy the scenery, however, his orcish teammate decided to crank the ride up a notch. The junkmobile shot into action and Abel could only cry out every few seconds as Gren narrowly swerved to avoid a constant stream of obstacles. The feeling reminded Abel of a roller coaster, though admittedly he had never been on one that could fall apart on a pebble before. He didn't even notice the incoming Beowolves, instead focusing on hunkering down with hands clapped over ears as the God Eater issued forth. This meant he also did not hear Gren's question, but he was more focused on survival at the moment. To a young man whose life had been molded by the themes of patience and not moving, this experience afforded him nothing less than terror.
Abel was among the first the point his weapon skyward, but as the colossal Nevermore circled away, he allowed it to return to earth. His muscles were tense, twitching slightly, mirroring the anticipation in his mind. As one of the nearby girls spotted the Grimm approaching through the trees, he readied himself again only to be appalled by the sheer number of the monsters. Though the sunlight shone brightly enough for the shade cast by the trees fringing the clearing to be mitigated, the crimson eyes of the Grimm still flickered menacingly. The idea of a quick retreat sat just fine with him.

As the other team raced off, Abel instinctively took a few steps after, only to hesitate and turn around. Gwyn, Aurelia, and Nevin had yet to get moving. If they really were a team now, he guessed he was obliged to look out for them—or, at the very least, die with them. He switched the Ampere back to blade mode and banged its butt against the stone brick of the dias. Several hundred feet away, the dreadful twin heads of a King Taijitu slithered nearer. “Where to?” Abel shouted.
I think I'd be interested in this.
Bit of a slow period. Working on your intro, SC?
I believe somebody said 'Thank God' at some point so I definitely think there is religion, just not codified.
Unsure of what to do and with no other ideas, Abel contented himself with watching Kuhaku. The ensuing near-death experience managed to be both slightly amusing and fairly horrifying to him. No sooner had the greataxe reverted to sword and shield than had the guardian's palm audibly smacked into his forehead. As the Faunus salvaged, Abel rubbed the fatigue from his eyebrows. Bridgett's words didn't register with him until she mentioned leaving, to which he nodded his assent. In the wake of the grand battle, the darkness seemed oppressive and dangerous, as if some other terrible foe were waiting in the shadows to take down the tired team.

Naturally, Gren chimed in to this group sentiment by immediately leaving, departing with only a vague “I'll be back.” After a minute Abel realized that he could do nothing but wait in the darkness -that everyone wanted to flee- for Gren to return. Abel seated himself against the bulky, angular left leg of the destroyed mech. While not comfortable, it at least allowed him to recline and give his feet a rest. Once settled, he began rubbing the settled dust and flakes out of his hair and off his clothes and armor.

Before long, Gren mercifully returned. Abel greeted him with raised eyebrows; just what was this guy planning to do with all that scrap metal? The guardian watched silently as Gren displayed an impressive mechanical skill (not to mention dexterity given his hulking armor) by cobbling together a primitive, ugly vehicle. Abel blinked incredulously, totally unconvinced that the contraption would work. The thing was a collaboration of limbs and plates, held together very loosely for lack of welding or bolts, and ran on treads. Well, he thought, rising from his stony seat, let's give it a try.

He jogged over and hopped in. For the first few seconds, the thing held. While of course Abel hoped it would work just for the ludicrousness of the thing, he didn't really care. It wouldn't be the end of the world if he had to walk out of this place the same way he came in.
