Look at you! Standing out all significant in the...well, wherever you came from you're here now. It probably never mattered how strong or noble you were, what claims or souls you stuffed under your belt or how many even deserved it. Whatever the hand that drew your card from the stack of countless others was searching for, it found you.
Maybe it was just a large chunk that you happened to fit into, but the point is that, when The Spire bled from the sky and skewered your world, belching forth all manner of evils that the imagination could just mostly contrive...you are still alive.
In a cell, but still alive. Senses return to you just the same as waking from a dream filled with those final moment you were doing whatever it was you were before you suddenly, and very tangibly, weren't.

Depending on your definition of 'lucky', you may have even been privilege to small points of knowledge about what was going on.
'Kazzok' the winds heralded in a whisper, the motions on monsters' lips and the last thought before waking up in a cold sweat at night. Whatever the name belonged to, it came for your whole of reality, and ignoring it was hardly an option once the hooks sank in. Maybe your people went mad and turned on eachother. Perhaps it was a sickness that burnt the leaves from trees and melted children still in the womb. Most often, though, it was the shapeless wave of darkness that painted the land like a vicious viscous ink. There was hardly a way to defend against what could climb over walls and through the cracks in the mortar between bricks.
More advanced cultures may have even been able to defend themselves long enough, tried to study the event and probably even give this cancer a name.

In the end...well, we've been over that, haven't we~?

A 10ftx10ft room with cobblestone floors, walls and ceiling. A single barred door standing 8ft in the center of one wall. Wherever you now are, the air is oppressively heavy with a tangible sallowness. Even the light from the slowly burning torches appears sickly and wrong, frequently seeming to extinguish before relighting with a brilliant flame before quickly beginning to fade once more.

Conditions

You know the usual: Don't be an asshat. Only write for your own character. Communicate with others. The CS is more or less a suggestion. Please be present if you intend on joining; ignoring me is a good way to get your character killed.

OH! Yeah, death is a thing that very unfortunately and uncomfortably comes to many.
Your character's death may not occur, but it is in no way promised to be meaningful, glorious, quick or done with a shred of dignity. The 18+ tag is there for a reason, and it is because I intend on very visceral and violent things happening to people who may not deserve it. This is your only warning. Unannounced, long-term AFK-ing is seen as an invitation to be made an example of this. The thread is capable of being run as a 1x1 and will not be taking hiatuses.

That being said, I will strive to accommodate creativity and find opportunities for players to join after 'initialization'. However, at the start of the thread, we are not taking any new members other than those that have already been invited.

Siska

Name: Ksiska Loalelem Tsaliandatraeis Traubelfel "Kite" or "Siska" (The other names are made up and carry no weight)
Age: 4 years since manifestation
Sex: Male
Species: Hallow

Appearance

Siska stands at a lithe 6'7, pale with thick wavy shoulder-length black hair. Wholly oily black eyes, upon which ripple along the surface with tiny insect-like lenses often kept obscured by side-shielded shades. Other betraying traits include their mouth, black on the interior and filled with fangs. Horrifyingly, their chin, on inspection is little more than where two mandibles meet. Siska is almost always seen with a black and red scarf wrapped up to their nose, self conscious of such details. The soft fabric carries with it faint scents of perfumes, and he is jealously protective of it, often even sleeping in it.
While they're more accustomed to lighter, more revealing wear, as Siska is well aware of the toned physique that comes with his prior profession. For the moment, in favor of tact and remaining inconspicuous to a world falling apart, they're presently clad in a long, heavy canvas coat. Steel-toed knee-high boots lead up to the coat, affixed with shin plating. Their thighs, as they disappear into the beaten fabric, keep this trend. The design is sleek, almost bladelike as the metal comes to a wedge, the material adorned with flourishing designs. Clearly a commissioned set, at a glance, designed with care.

Backstory

A coalescence of want, manifested in an alleyway between a 'cheap inn' and an alehouse. The sprite typically had food, seen to as a macabre pet for the first winter and being 'kept' more or less to sort out 'individuals of ill repute' as The Madam called them.
Given a room and even what equates to food, I felt fortunate for what I now understand to be a crude sense of humor. Other humors aside, I rarely had trouble with requests and was often rewarded. That was, well, before things started going south, as they say. The Establishment had fewer customers before long. So much concern over simple names, and suddenly we find violence in the streets!
The Madam turned me away, today; that I am not allowed to return, as there is nothing left for me to do. The world is falling apart, nobody shows up, but everyone leaves. I have broken the rules for two human children, forcing my way back into The Establishment as at least walls can protect them better than the streets.
I think mail came, mostly notes depicting enlistment or evacuation. Fliers, as the kids told me, not actually mail, but one of them sounded at least more opportune than waiting to starve. It was time to leave...

Personality: Due to their 'upbringing', if it could call it that, Siska strives to come off warm and welcoming, though this is occasionally overpowered by a clear awkwardness. Having stemmed from having mostly ever existed to do as The Madam told, Siska functions...poorly in the outside world he's naive to. Curious and confident, coming off adventurous though soft spoken and strangely flirtatious at times, he's trying to make the best out of the situation...and act like he knows what he's doing, along the way.
