• This roleplay will experience mature themes, Lotus City is not free from its red light districts nor from drugs and violence. 18+ content will be common and there’ll be more than a few gruesome scenes in the future.
• As GM my word is law, though I am rather lenient.
• I expect this to be a Casual roleplay and, as such, would like at least a post a week barring interruptions in schedules. Warnings will be applied for missed post or a lack of update on situations regarding one. 3 warnings and you are out.
• Try to keep it at a minimum of 2 paragraphs though it is understandable if less can be written during select scenes.

ArcNet, the very mention of the largest Media Corp in existence sends a shiver down most people’s spines and strikes fear in the hearts of Deckers. ArcNet is, by far, the largest provider of Net systems and products as well as having control over a majority of media based systems that citizens use on a daily basis. That Digi-Phone? Made by ArcNet. News outlets? Owned by ArcNet. The very system that you home’s Net runs on? Made by and monitored by ArcNet. They are the all seeing eye of the Corps and yet one of the least socially involved of all of them. Unlike most Corps, ArcNet doesn’t peddle their products to citizens nor do they have to, they have a near total monopoly of all systems.
Rather, ArcNet’s most major involvement in the social system is through their interactions with the various other Corps. ArcNet is, by all standards, the neutral Corps and stands with no single Corps ArcNet often produces and sells Net systems and subsystems to the other Corps and is often well known for storing backup data for those willing to pay the hefty fee. It is, however, well known among Deckers that nobody has ever managed to hack into ArcNet’s system itself and, as such, rumors have appeared in various places that the Net provided to other Corps is a heavily downgraded system. There even exist such a rumor that ArcNet’s system is so well enforced because they have been doing Black Market data selling, a belief which is primarily supported by the anonymous DarkNet members who supposedly leak data from their Corp.

Lotus, one of the greatest of the Corps to rise from the Chrome Age and one of the longest standing of all of them. Lotus is best known for their development of military Magi-Tech and rose to power over their Magi-Tech power systems. The Magi-Gen is, by far, one of the greatest inventions of the Chrome Age and Lotus’s crowning achievement, next to Lotus city of course. The Magi-Gen it is a generator powered by Ark Crystals, a pure and untainted source of magical energy which appeared after the Sundering. Ark Crystals have been shown to be able to power an average city block for a day on an ounce. On top of that, Lotus is the only company thus far which has discovered a way to recharge Ark Crystals and, as such, have made a great deal of money off the use of Magi-Gen systems and the resale of crystals.
However, their more well known creation are Magi-Tech weapons such as the Vorpal line of swords, Terra armor, and Manifest guns. The Magi-Tech of such systems allow casters of all types to influence how their weapons or armor work by the usage of their magic. The Vorpal swords are best known for the insanely sharp edge they hold but also the fact that a well enough trained caster can change the weapon’s form at will. Terra armor is near impossible to penetrate due to the magical field which dampens attacks and can totally block magical attacks with a strong enough user. Manifest guns are, by far, the greatest weapons that Lotus has ever made. Manifest guns allow summoners to quickly channel their spells place their summons greater distances away from them as well as fire rounds of pure magical energy. They are, however, the hardest weapons to control and can totally drain a user of magical energy should they lack care.
Lotus’ lesser known creations and, perhaps, the black sheep of them all were the drugs Faze, Prometheus, and Lupus. Faze is a magic based drug which results in vivid hallucinations in most users as well as replenishing magical energy. It is a favoured Black Market drug for summoners due to the large drain of their summons. Prometheus is a drug which enhances the user’s physical abilities and allows them ignore severe fatigue. In military use it was a wonder drug as it often allowed soldiers to fight hard for longer however its drawback was a near comatose state if too large of a dose is administered. Those who enter withdrawal of Prometheus tend to be extremely violent and have been known to go so far as to kill for another dose. Lupus is the most mild of Lotus’ drugs as it was primarily a drug for treating Aug and body mod rejections. For people with many Augs or a near total body mod to be something… more than natural, Lupus is their only option so as to prevent a painful death. Lupus, however, suppresses pain and quickly became a highly addictive drug for those without Augs. Some never come back from the high of Lupus, simply sitting and staring blindly in the distance.

Tokyo Robotics is the newest Corp on the scene and saw its rise late into the Chrome Age, though it accelerated quickly to the top with its research and development into robotic systems, automation, and security implementation. In the early years of Tokyo Robotics they were merely a company whose focus was, primarily, in the automation of systems so as to assist other Corps. As time went on, however, Tokyo Robotics quickly expanded into the creation of Robotics systems and their implementation into Corp Sec. They were the first Corp to ever introduce Security bots capable of being deployed if there's ever an intrusion into their Net, even going so far as to produce bots capable of autonomous action to prevent such issues.
As time went on, Tokyo Robotics expanded their systems to other Corps resulting in a majority of the large Corps, barring Lotus and Delta engineering, adopting the Security bots as a second line of defence against intruders. Some governments have even gone so far as to use the security bots as an expendable police force. However, Lotus City is one of the few places in the world where the Security bots are primarily held by a select few Corps and are heavily regulated. Some believe that Lotus’ position on the security bots is simply a money grabbing ploy to extract more cash from Tokyo Robotics however there are some on the DarkNet who have proposed more nefarious theories.
Some forums on the DarkNet have proposed that Tokyo Robotics is simply a puppet company for the Yakuza in Japan, their first foray into the Chrome Age tech that had originally put them in danger. This theory is heavily supported by the mysterious background of the executives of Tokyo Robotics, many of which whose histories can only be traced back a decade or so before the company’s creation. However, the Japanese government has made no formal statement on the validity of such information nor has any solid data been uncovered from decking to support such claims.

Delta Engineering, the most influential developers of the Chrome Age and one of the leading producers in Augs. In the early Chrome Age, Delta Engineering rose from the crumbling social system of America as a grand beacon, developing systems to enhance the quality of life of many in its home nation and developing massive systems for construction. It is through Delta Engineering that the construction of Lotus City was even possible, through Delta that Tokyo Robotics even had the subsystems in place to automate the development of robots. Delta eventually expanded out into the military application of mechanized body frames, allowing soldiers to lift more than normal. Eventually they created Mech Suits, though little did they know that such systems would later be applied to a internationally favoured sport.
However, the greatest achievement of Delta was their creation of Augs which, in place of prosthetics, allowed those missing limbs to easily function in society once more. Early Augs were primarily meant for everyday assistance however eventually the developments advanced to enhance the body and its functions. Decks could be installed a neural system to implement chips for enhanced senses, arms could be replaced to allow the average person to lift more, lungs replaced to easily process out smog filled air. Some, however, wanted to go even further with augs. They replaced their eyes to allow them to have facial recognition, their skin and muscles laced with nano-filaments to make them more durable.
Eventually the cost of such Augs would strike many users, many turning to Lupus to deal with the rejection of their systems. However, the dark history of Augs was primarily overlooked by Delta Engineering as they delved more into the development of social systems and enhancement of general quality of life. It is Delta Engineering who created the first Magi-Lift, though it was done so in tandem with Lotus. Their creation of Magi-Lifts was monumental as it reduced the cost, emissions, and time of travelling long distances and inside city. Their transportation tech has single-handedly reduced the smog in most cities to a more manageable amount, though places such as Beijing and Shanghai still suffer heavily from their emissions.

Shanghai is, perhaps, one of the few remaining places in the modern world that has successfully integrated the new tech of the Chrome Age with a postmodern aesthetic. Their streets are crammed with people and few have transportation from Delta Engineering yet most of their systems have already been integrated by ArcNet. The city boasts the largest number of Augs of any major Chinese city and the lowest incident rate associated with them, however it is assumed that many of the Augs are illegally obtained due to the massive influence gangs have over Shanghai. It is well known that Shanghai is primarily controlled by the Dragon Syndicate and White Lotus, though smaller gangs have found their way into the system and managed to avoid annihilation by the larger gangs. Despite the hatred which many Chinese officials have for the syndicates of Shanghai, they are without a doubt the most valuable asset they have.
Due to the influence which Lotus has over mainland Asia and Japan, Shanghai has become a hotspot for government activity and the hiring of deckers and contract mercs to attempt to infiltrate the city. Though the Syndicate and White Lotus have been unable to breach Lotus City security thus far, the attempts have never stopped and, as such, have resulted in a large drain on the Corp Sec forces for Lotus. Despite all this, there have been whispers that the two big gangs of Shanghai are simply a distraction for Lotus while smaller gangs and freelancers have been actively infiltrating the City. Though there has been no data to support such a rumour, it is undeniable that China will stop at nothing to obtain Lotus City.

Much of Nagasaki has been fully integrated with the Chrome Age tech and has especially been influenced by Tokyo Robotics and their operating HQ within the city. While Nagasaki is the primary entry point from Japan to Lotus city, there have been little attempts by the Japanese government to perform infiltrations such as those that happen in Shanghai. Rather it is well known that Nagasaki has been Tokyo Robotics territory and, despite their denial of Yakuza activity, was once home to a large portion of Yakuza members. Lotus City security has already expected the Yakuza infiltration of the city and have been trying to prevent any growth in the presence. The Yakuza have, however, been pests which the security has never been able to fully squash. Similarly so in Nagasaki, the presence of Tokyo Robotics has only grown and become more of a pressing issue for Lotus.
While Nagasaki is a primarily peaceful city, at least compared to Shanghai, near every small time Corp and business in the city has an integrated Security bot system from Tokyo Robotics done so under the pretense that it ‘Prevents Crime’. However, in light of a security breach which released documents showing an ever growing interest in Lotus City by Tokyo Robotics, the number of security bot systems have only increased in Nagasaki. As such the city has become nigh impossible to escape once a Decker has hacked into the Net. Near every route out of the city patrolled by security bots. Unwanted or unpleasant visitors to the city have a tendency to disappear, likely taken by Tokyo Robotics Corp Sec for ‘questioning’. Whatever or whoever is working behind the scenes at Nagasaki has made the city a fortress, one of the few threats to Lotus City.

The sounds of the city faded in an out as the tram flew through the city, its circuitous route showing the neon lit city in the full glory of the setting sun. People were crammed onto the train, some new imports to the city looking to strike it big, some merely travelers from Shanghai or Nagasaki. Lotus City had originally been planned to be nothing more than a utopia for the big wigs of Lotus, a way to escape the dregs of society and the smog filled air of the big cities. It was a big step forward for any corp to take and a bold move to claim the City as neither property of Japan or China even with its position between the two.
Plans, however, fell through quickly as Lotus realized that the city simply could not run on their executives salaries, at least not without upsetting them more than was necessary. Lotus City soon became a hub for immigrants from the nearby countries, pulling in wannabe millionaires and realists alike. Some saw it as a chance to make a name for themselves by joining Lotus at the HQ and some simply saw it as an escape from the violence of the gangs which ruled China and the Yakuza who held the finances of Japan. Soon the other Corps moved into Lotus City, buying out their own portion of the land and freeing themselves from overbearing governments of other nations.
Now, now Lotus City truly was a site to behold in the glory of its neon lights and shining chrome. On every corner you could find men and women from almost any nation, their profession varying just as much in the process. It became a haven for the ill-loved of society, the forgotten and hated, augs, deckers, you name it. Even more so was the surprisingly lax view Lotus had for Elves and Orcs, welcoming them as if they were no different from humans.
Reality, however, was far from what people liked to believe it to be. The downtrodden and poor were subjected to the worst treatment in the slums; no freedom from the gangs which had plagued them. Augs were forced to register themselves to Lotus, to pay a fee every month based on what they had. A ‘Citizen Protection’ fee they called it, just another excuse to in case an aug went wild. Even the Elves and Orcs faced the same prejudice they had before, finding it hard to integrate with the local population and find jobs, even being forced into separate districts than humans.

The Sundering left behind a few races Earth had never seen before, bringing to life creatures had had been nothing more than fantasy in books. The Elves were one such race and have been one of the most widely accepted races since the Sundering. In the early years of the Sundering, the Elves were isolationist who clung to their old ways of worshiping the magic from their home land. It took decades for them to begin integration with society on Earth and, even then, many to this day still form conclaves in cities to cling to their old ways and teach the young of magic. Elves are the most magically skilled race on Earth and have been a great asset to Lotus as such.
Lotus’ support of the Elves has resulted in the formation of almost a dozen conclaves inside of Lotus cities as well as a growing acceptance of the race. However many Elves are still prejudiced due to their longer than average lives and the isolationist attitudes that many of the conclaves have. Even without that, a few Conclaves use the lax nature of Lotus to operate as criminal groups inside of the city. Often they exact tolls for ‘security’ and passage through their territory, driving away a large portion of the human populace.

It comes as no surprise that the villains of many fantasy stories, the rough and rowdy Orcs, face one of the greatest prejudices on Earth out of any race. Orcs love to fight and their culture has kept them active on Earth since the beginning of the Sundering, though it was often through territory disputes with countries and brawls between humans and Orcs. Often times Orcs can be found in bars drinking or fighting, likely winning in both for that matter. Despite the prejudice facing them, many Orcs have struck out to make a name for themselves and some have even become valued soldiers for armies or mercenaries for Corp Sec.
Even the excellent combative skills of an Orc cannot, however, draw away one’s attention from their features. Most orcs feature prominent fangs and slightly pointed ears, finding themselves often compared more to boars than any human or elf. However, most notable feature they have is their skin tone which often comes in varied shades of grey-green or red. Orcs are often larger than humans in every way and even Elves cannot match the sheer size of the brutes. In Lotus City, Orcs have easily found their home inside the Mech Boxing sport and often can be found there or working as mercs.

Night fell over the chrome city, the neon lights flickering on across the entire expanse as Lotus City burst alive once more as. Its skyscrapers shone brightly in the night sky like beacons, even those living in Shanghai could make out the dim glow from the beach. Men and women of all races and nationality stood in line at the Immigration Center as the tram closed down, the dull sound of a robotic voice over head welcoming them to their new home, instructing them on where to go for temporary or long term stay, even guiding them to restaurants. Few, however, would expect all that sound to be gone in an instant, replaced simply by a booming explosion which caused the building to shudder and near collapse.

The tram station was nothing more than rubble and bodies strewn everywhere, a few survivors managed to hobble out of the station as cops and Corp security rushed in to assess the scene. Nothing remained of the bomber except a few limbs, a damaged aug here and there, and the black scorch mark which marred the chrome floors. Long had Lotus City existed as a state free from the rule of a government and long had they managed to avoid such incidents, even with many other Corps out to destroy them and even the gangs of looking to take control of its streets. Lotus City soon sat in silence as a booming voice announced a total lockdown of the city for the remainder of the night, nobody in and nobody out with a strict curfew.

Whoever had committed such an atrocity surely must’ve had allies inside the city, at least that was the only conclusion Lotus could reach. Weeks later, however, the city returned to normal though rumours spread of shadows moving in the night. Some believed that the bombing of the Immigration Center was a way to make a statement, however others saw it as a distraction meant to allow those in the shadows to move more freely. Even now plans have been set into motion which might shake Lotus City to its core, plans which may very well result in the citizens in choosing who they will stand with.

The Order of the Sacred Flame

Order of the Sacred Flame

There are none who remember when the Sacred Flame was first lit, none who remember when it last wavered in the wind. All that the people remember is the day when the Sacred Flame became but embers in its brazier, cinders in the wind.

The Sacred Flame has been a long standing religious entity in the lands of Ioria and have long existed as a neutral party among the nations. Its first rise to power was in the early years of the war between the Humans and Elves, before the time of the Imperium and Eroammir. During this time the Sacred Flame was best known for its actions in settling conflicts between the Dwarven Clans in the Ghenna Mountains and, in doing so, earning itself recruits and followers. It was not long before that the Sacred Flame established their first monastery in the Farron Peak of the Mountains, soon lighting the Sacred Flame with magic now lost.

As time went on the Sacred Flame established the Order, a division of its people who were more martial than religious and more than willing to settle the petty squabbles of others. The Order grew quickly in light of the ongoing war and, eventually, became the ones who ushered in the First Era with the uneasy truce between the two races. The Treaty of Farron is often believed to be the Order’s greatest move and its triumphant rise to fame. In the follow ages the Order settled many disputes ranging from land rights to claims of sabotage. As the nations of Ioria formed, so too did the Order’s many connections and treaties which have, to this day, provided them with free access to many kingdoms.

However, it is believed that the peak of the Order has long since passed as a steady decline has been noted in willful recruits let alone those who would so willingly uphold their duty without bias. Most who serve the Order to this day come from long lines of soldiers having done so in the past or simply are lordlings looking to make a name for themselves or worse, as part of ‘tradition’. With their members stagnating and growing more placid as the years of gone by, the Order’s own attempts to get influence in the lands of Weirn have often been met with apathy at best, disgust at worst. The state of the Order has even led to the rumour that the leaders have begun allowing criminals, regardless of their crime, join in order to be ‘redeemed’ by the Sacred Flame

”We speak of the Kings in the North as if they were legends, as if they had died the very moment we mention them. They sit in their halls watching Orimmir and the lands of Horimir beyond, protecting the Southern Kingdoms while they squabble over farmlands and forests. They train their soldiers to fight, to die for their king and queen, to leave behind a legacy and measure one’s worth not in coin but in heads they’ve cut off. Their women and children understand well that they very well might not see their Father the next day, that their neighbors could just as easily die form a raid as from illness.

Yet they have not request we pay them any tributes, no tithes for protection nor feasts in their honor. The Kings of Weirn are living legends each in their own rights. “

Long have the northern lands of Weirn ruled freely over themselves, bowing to none of the Southern Kingdoms nor the tribes of Horimir. The cities of Weirn are believed to have been the first established settlements of Man, built long before history was ever recorded. Though the original foundations have become nothing more than ruins, stones jutting out of the imposing mountain range, the cities are ancient nonetheless. The Kings of Weirn are no less ancient, their bloodlines long and storied in their Great Wars against the Horimir and even some detailing skirmishes into the Southern Lands.

Of these lands exist seven major cities, protectors of the passes through Orimmir which the Horimir may take south. Of these seven, there exist three which stand above all else. The grand fortress of the north, Normundr. The bustling trade city and meeting spot of the Kings, Vernthouth. Last of all, the grand port city of Haev. Though these three have more influence over Weirn as a whole, it is noted that their relationship is more or less symbiotic. Due to Normundr’s position in the far north, they rely on the fishing and farming surplus from Vernthouth and Haev to survive, Vernthouth in turn relies on Haev for its connection to the Terrimmir Sea.

Normundr

The fortress of Normundr is a rarity, a relic of the First Great War and one of the only cities located beyond Orimmir. Built on the orders of King Norim, Normundr is a bustling cities whose walls keep out foul winds and Horimir alike. Originally built as a military outpost, Normundr was meant to be abandoned after the First Great War however the looming threat of the Horimir pushed King Norim to declare the city his seat of power. Since then Normundr has weathered two more Great Wars, its walls never failing nor its people falling to the Horimir.

From the great city has come some of the best warriors of Weirn, Hagrir’s Rangers. The Rangers are legends among the cities of Weir as the elite fighting force of the current King of Normundr, Hagrir. All Rangers are handpicked by Hagrir and trained for years to hone their skills and train them how to fight the Horimir in their homelands. Many of the Rangers are skilled with both bow and sword, though few choose to learn what magic they can to supplement their ability in combat. Hagrir himself is nothing less than a legend among the Kings, a man aged sixty on the front lines of battle with almost double his age in kills.

Vernthouth

Vernthouth

Vernthouth is one of the few major cities of Weirn which stands not as a primary defense against the Horimir but as a hub for all the cities to remain connected. Its position further south of the Orimmir mountains put it in a prime location to connect all the other cities together through basic roads and provide support to them from its large farmlands. Over time, Vernthouth became in the main connection of the Kings of Weirn to the Southern Kingdom, many travellers first entering Weirn through its gates to travel beyond. Even then, the Southern Kingdoms gladly traded with Weirn through Vernthouth and the desire for the minerals and gems of the otherwise untouched Orimmir mountains has cause a rise in mines being built from foreign sources, with the approval of the Kings of course.

Despite all this, none should ever forget that Vernthouth is a city of Weirn and seat of one of its leaders. All in Vernthouth old enough to hold a sword or bow have been trained with, though few face battle, as a deterrent to the Southern Kingdoms and a fighting force against the Horimir should some make it south of the mountains. Its military is also one of the few forces solely dedicated to tracking down Horimir bands in the land of Weirn rather than stopping them at the mountains. However, Vernthouth has been in troubled times after the death of its king and his son, leaving Queen Relia to rule as regent. Though many are willing to follow the Queen, there has been much competition and even subversive actions against those in line to become King. Few remain among the ranks of Vernthouth’s military with a headcount high enough to become King, fewer even willing to follow those who sit at the top.

Haev

Haev

Of all the cities of Weirn, Haev is by far one of the most isolated yet most important of its lands, both for the fish it provides and the iron it mines from Orimmir. The Southern Kingdoms best know Haev as the City of Iron, a city whose primary function has long been as smiths for the armies of Weirn. Few of the Kings dared to delve into the ancient Orimmir Mountains -their imposing heights creating many superstitions still held to this day- however King Yulis Haev was the first to send his men into the Mountains after the First Great War. It was Yulis who found its rich iron deposits and even delved far enough to find silver and gold to help in trade with the Southern Kingdoms. It was Yulis who began to offer his resources to the other Kings of Weirn.

Haev has since grown, its isolation from its brother and sister cities of Weirn lending to their drive to fortify their position. Though Haev has seen less fighting than the other cities, they have been consistently pressured by the Southern Kingdoms to provide their services, of no cost of course. Even in the early years Haev had to deal with multiple attempts to be infiltrated or sabotaged by the greed of the Southerners yet none have succeeded.

Ioria

What is better than the rolling hills of Ioria, the green pastures and beautiful scenes which have struck many with muses. Great artists tell of Ioria as a land as wondrous as a beautiful woman, though personally it is probably more like a beautiful bit of land but still. Here the Kings rule themselves and war teeters on the edge of everyone’s minds, the Imperium and Eroammir always at each other’s throats. Still, it is where many of the realms call home.

Ioria is a land of plains and forests, its lands rarely broken by rocky outcroppings one might make for mountains were it not for the looming presence of the Ghenna Mountains in the far distance. Many of the people of this world call Ioria home, its vast lands inhabited my numerous races. Most unique of all, however, may be the presence of the three great powers of Ioria: Keirous, the Imperium, and Eroammir. While there are various other, smaller, lands scattered throughout Ioria, many are aware that the three could crush them in an instant if they so wished.

However long has the Imperium and Eroammir been at each other’s throats allowing for various other nations to rise in power and take control of what lands they two had not claimed. The ever present and mysterious Keirous, however, has become an ever looming threat for both as rumors spread of their growing strength from beyond the Aouril plains.

Kingdom of Eroammir

Eroammir, the First Kingdom of Man. The very name has long reminded others of its great conquests, of the wars which allowed it to become the power in Ioria it is now. In the First Era which marked man’s arrival in Ioria and Weirn, Eroammir was nothing but a few united tribes on the Emerald Coast. Few ever thought they would rise to glory, few ever thought they would stand with the Imperium. Under the unity of Eroammir and his sons, the Kingdom prospered, slowly gaining land and alliances.

It is now in the Fourth Era and Eroammir is one of the three most powerful Kingdoms in all of Ioria, its lands stretching along the Emerald coast and to the Ghenna mountains. Its people do not fear famine or war as they sit in peace, a peace long held by their treaty with the Imperium. However, its lands are not as glorious as they may seem.

Inside some of the largest cities its citizens cheer for the bloodsports which fuels their country, their slaves and criminals fighting for a chance at freedom. There is no glory in the combat, no winner as many more may die the next fight who were so close to freedom. Even a single mistake can send one to the Pits, a single stolen loaf more than enough to end a being’s life.

Their bloodsports may attract many however there are few who fail to recognize the craftsmen of Eroammir; the many men and women who toil for hours to create works of art which people yearn for all across the continent. Even their blacksmiths are nothing to turn one’s nose at, some nearly as skilled as those who practice in Haev.

All the glories which have come from Eroammir, however, cannot keep the tensions with the Imperium from rising. Even as King Emir continues his talks with the Elves in his growing age, his own son seeks to undermine him. Rumors float from village to village of skirmishes along the Ghenna mountains, the neutral zone for the two empires, and souring attitudes towards the Imperium. Some say that Prince Emil seeks war simply for the taste of battle, some say he desires the knowledge so hoarded by the Imperium. What is known, however, is that war may be brewing for the two.

The Imperium of Ashae

Before the First Era war racked the lands of Ioria; the Elves fighting themselves and eventually fighting even the Humans as they descended upon the lands. The lawless times have allowed for much of early history to be forgotten, burned in the near constant raids the cities and tribes performed. Despite this, however, it is well understood that an ancient figure of the Imperium rose from the chaos, Queen Ashae. Queen Ashae was the first of the Elves to propose unity, to form the Imperium and rule it in face of the Human hordes. Though she was met with resistance, the Imperium was eventually formed and the dissenters placated with promises of land, glory, or wealth.

From its earliest history the Imperium has sought nothing but to bring ‘order’ to Ioria, the lands that the Elves have long believed their right. It war and battles with the Humans and, eventually, the Kingdom of Eroammir has long been waged under this belief. The battles, however, have long since devolved into stalemates or been quashed by higher ups, fearing disrupting the trade which has flourished between the two Kingdoms. In fact, it is rather common to find small Lords in the Imperium raiding Eroammir more as fun rather than any actual attempt to quash the human growth on Ioria.

The relative peace between the Imperium and Eroammir is much believed to have sprung from the arenas of Eroammir, the glory of the blood sports serving stave off both nobles and commoners bloodlust. From this mutual enjoyment, however, has sprung a trade of people between the Imperium and Eroammir, the former offering its criminals as combatants.

There are, however, a sect of Elvish nobles who find the trade disgusting and treason as selling off their own to the very same people their nation was built to exterminate has soured many relations in the Imperium. No trade deal or sum of money has removed the black mark of what some Lords of the Imperium consider a defeat at the hands of the human, having been forced into a treaty for the sake of their own stability. Some believe that now is the time that they must strike, now is the time that must rid Ioria of the Humans and achieve their birthright.

Keirous

Far beyond the reach of both the Imperium and Eroammir sits the mysterious lands of Keirous, its people flourishing even in light of the wars in Ioria. Beyond the Aouril plains to the south of Eroammir and the Imperium stretches the Maw, the only known boundary to Keirous and a massive ravine that spans near the entire of Ioria’s southern stretch. Keirous uses the Maw as a natural line of defence against any who wish to enter its lands, peaceful or not.

Much of Keirous’ nature is a mystery even to those few who have been to the nation for few places allowed to outsiders and little information let slip through closed mouths. What has been gatherd, however, paints Keirous as a place more diverse and… unnatural to the rest of Ioria. Only in Keirous is each of its races represented by their own officials, only in Keirous do the officials vote on laws and legislation. Only in Keirous are all races welcomed.

It should not be mistake that all races are treated equally in Keirous, however, for there are many tensions between the races. Rather than splitting in their unions, however, the people of Keirous settle disputes in skirmishes against each other, Tribe versus tribe, lord versus lord, it matters not who dies and who fights as long as they agree their disputes settle as a result. As such Keirous seems to be a lawless land where little care is given towards criminals and even less towards actual disputes.

Rather, the few allowed inside of Keirous have found that it is less a nation and more a loose unity of city states and tribes, all agreeing to avoid all out war with each other for undefined reasons. Even then, however, its people are free to live as they so wish and even the Orsiri have been found to be more civilized in Keirous.

Most peculiar of all, however, is the whispers of a land beyond Keirous, a desert so vast that none have survived the expeditions into it. Some believe foul creatures of an ancient time roam the desert, large stone beings which seem to move and think of their own volition. Whatever lies beyond Keirous, however, is unknown as no outsider has even been allowed to tra

”Well, that would depend on your definition of ‘tasty’,” Nara said as she looked over at Iva, ”I doubt there are much more than animals for you to eat around here but that should be enough. Better than heading back to that village for a night time snack.” Nara fell silent quickly, closing her eyes and focusing on feeling the forest around them. This ability had barely gotten use in Yggdrasil, more useful for detecting ambushes and stealth than anything else but its function wasn’t quite how she remembered it to be. Truly Nature Sense allowed her to feel the forest and almost become one with it. The wind through the trees, the light step of animals in the forest; she could feel it all.

The tendrils of her mind spread through the forest and Nara quickly realized that it wasn’t quite what she had imagined. As she went further away, the senses dulled and came slower to her, the details muddled over the distance. She didn’t have much range to Nature Sense, at least not without honing it more and developing her control over it. However, she had neither the time nor the patience to do such training, Iva was hungry after all and it was better not to wait.

There were surprisingly many creatures in the area, though most of them were small and barely worth their time. A few deer were certainly a decent meal, for Iva at least. ”There are a few deer nearby, that should be a decent meal at least,” Nara pointed a bit off into the forest before continuing, ”At least a mile away in that direction. We should make their deaths quick. And consume all that you can, Nature doesn’t like waste.”
