Ivan sat bored in his seat the rest of class. Smelling food in the air and waiting until lunch so desperately. The teacher had been ranting on about something when he felt himself almost drift off, only to catch himself and smack his cheek to awaken.

Ivan awoke in the small cottage outside of town, in the forest to the chirps of birds and assorted sounds of animals. It was a beautiful thing to behold, and all while the young boy rose from his bed and dawned his gear, grabbing his blade and the assortment of armor, as well as a large amount of animal skins. He would be selling them, as to keep himself with money to feed himself. Now walking to the town he looked around and wondered if he would do anything special today.
The waves of blistering heat hit the crew as they walked through the barren wastelands set before them. It seemed void of life or any real hope of finding the next village or kingdom, or any place to replenish supplies. Still they marched onward as to keep from seemingly melting. Kanji looked at his map as he walked with the others, the dessert was large but he had still underestimated it. He wondered if it continued even off the map and that they had done the same, but at this point there was no way to tell. Breifly he looked back to the group before him. He had let them down if they died here, assuring them this was an ideal route to the cities of a great desert kingdom he heard much about. It made it all the worse that he had brought them here selfishly, sure his father was there.
