Bio

"That's why we must eat the old people first. They can't have that kind of power."

I've been roleplaying for six years, and if I do say so myself I've gotten pretty good. I've been to many roleplay sites around the internet, and for right now I'm happy calling this one home. I write fantasy, high science fiction, and poetry. I'm involved in the Nerdfighteria community as well, making the world suck a little bit less one day at a time. Though sometimes it's rough and incredibly time-consuming, roleplaying has brought me some of my closest friends, some of the most genuinely awesome people I've ever met. This train is still going, and there's no stop in sight! DFTBA.

The Disappointment Club:

"What the fuck did I just read"

We're special-ed special forces, the most exclusive internet club that no one wants to join, and the most thoroughly disappointing group of individuals the world has ever seen (we even disappoint when it comes to disappointing). Together, we're quite possibly the best six friends the internet has know.

Titus MacArthur

As Titus struck, he felt a massive wave of heat wash over him. It stung at his eyes and burned at his lips, finer areas of skin. He felt a few hairs of his beard catch fire. Then the monster rose, taller than even he and awash with flame. It was absolutely terrifying, its black rock skin rippling with fire and its eyes full of hatred. Titus was completely powerless as it struck him right in the stomach with full force. He screamed as he felt himself lifted off through the air. He screamed.

Titus was catapulted across the room in an explosion of heat. He burned like a meteor as he sailed through the air and crashed into the wall on the opposite side of the room. His impact sent dust flying up from the wall, and the metal dented severely.

He had landed on his back spreadeagle. His skin and clothing was still burning and the hair of his beard was singed black. Second and third-degree burns covered his body; his face, his arms, his shoulders, his chest, even the inside of his lungs had been burned. In his gut was a gaping hole five inches across, the inner contents still burning. The impact had cracked a few of his vertebrae. He was completely unconscious, limp as a rag; any sane man would have pronounced him dead on the spot. A crowd of people began to gather around the crater in the metal wall. Titus gasped for breath painfully, his eyes still rolled back in his head. The Invincible Man was dying.

"Someone get a teacher!" a random voice in the crowd called out.

So I know I made this big deal about my ghost-guy character, but I think I've changed my mind and I'm gonna use something else.
Looks interesting. Think I'll make something for this.

Titus MacArthur

"HAHAHAHA!" As Diego went flying, Titus skidded to a halt and admired his work. This guy was nothing! He looked so tough, but he was so weak! Titus brushed himself off and ran back in for another round. Then Diego shot up and...flame tornado. While Titus did admit that a flame tornado was impressive, it wasn't exactly dangerous either. The flames spun for a few moments and then decided to come take Titus' lunch money. It tore at impressive speed towards him, and then Diego leapt through the flames with his fist cocked, ready to dish out the most powerful punch of...

The fist bounced off of Titus' face weakly, not eliciting so much as a grunt from the giant of a man. Titus responded by throwing a punch of his own. In the moment that the punch failed, Titus dug his feet into the ground and drove his right arm up through the flames for the mother of all uppercuts. At this close a range, it was sure to be a one-shot end to the fight. Such a shame. Titus thought I could've gone a few more rounds.
I'm not a mod, but you never actually, like, describe your character's power. Like, where it came from is cool and all but what does it do? How can he use it?
What about the floppy-floppy spider of the deep?

As Diego rolled out to Titus' way, Titus skidded to a halt. Unfortunately for the big guy, skidding doesn't happen instantly for a 480-pound giant. He slid nearly to the end of the platform, only finally stopping when he drove his fist into the ground. He ducked as the burst of flame soared over his right shoulder. Then he got up and charged again. This time, just as he got to Diego, Titus crouched down and, redirecting his momentum, swung his right leg out roundhouse kick-style.

'Dodge this.' Titus thought.

Spencer Holloway

So the park was boring. After laying in the grass for about fifteen minutes, Spencer got up and began to walk back towards the library to finish his homework. On a whim, however, he turned and decided to walk towards the science building. The night's genetics homework was incredibly confusing, and the doc had office hours tonight. He walked across campus to the science building and began to walk down the hall. Three doors down from the main hallway, Spencer opened the door and walked into Doctor Wright's lab.

Dr.Wright's lab was unlike any other. It was a long room, about thirty-five feet long and twenty feet wide. Black-topped lab tables were organized in rows around the room, and the front wall was covered in cabinets containing scientific instruments from microscopes to hot plates to bunsen burners. A large centrifuge sat in the far right corner on the front wall. The back wall, from the perspective of walking in, was covered in windows, and Brassica rapa plants were growing there (apparently they were part of a biology lab in one of the classes). The wall to the left contained a chalkboard and Dr.Wright's desk, which was always covered in a variety of things. The wall to the right was by far the most interesting. Dr.Wright had converted this wall into a massive saltwater aquarium, complete with a real coral reef, real sea anemones, and a variety of exotic ocean creatures; cuttlefish, wrasses, black lionfish, fiddler stingray, even an anglerfish swam through the waters of the tank. This wall contained Dr.Wright's massive, rather impressive computer. Near this computer were two people; well...one person and a lizard...thing which was lying on the floor.

"Um..." Spencer began "Is Doctor Wright here?"

Titus MacArthur

Titus stepped up onto the platform and cracked his neck loudly, a trademark of his before fighting. This was going to be an interesting fight; Titus certainly knew he was superior at brute strength, but Diego's fire was going to be an issue, and he didn't heal from fire as well as he did from, well, alien-dog-thing attacks. He would have to get up close and dish out as much pain as he could before Diego could burn him to a crisp. This tactic at the Academy was famously known as Titus-ing. It didn't work. Did Titus MacArthur care?

Of course not.

"Alright, then!" Titus growled "Let's go prettyboy!" Titus began to run at full speed towards Diego, his arms out wide and ready to dish out the pain. If he was lucky, one punch to the jaw would be all he'd need to incapacitate a normal human like Diego. He almost felt sorry for the poor kid. Maybe the fight would be more drawn-out. Really, who knew?

Dr.Tobias Wright, PhD , and Henry Olin

(Collab between Maxx and Urban)

So NEST was here. Bummer. Dr.Wright was hoping that this time he'd be able to solve the Scooby-Doo all on his own, but having NEST agents at his disposal would make it much less-likely that he would actually need to fight. Sarah quickly projected the outside of Dr.Wright's office. Of course a giant lizard man was walking past wearing NEST insignias. How stealthy. These new guys were just overgrown cops (literally), not phantoms in the night like they used to be when Wright was there. Oh well, he'd have to deal with the Triassic Meathead if it meant keeping the school (ie, his lab) safe.

"Alright, see you around Adam." he said, leaving.

In the matter of a minute or two, Toby and Sarah walked into the science building and nearly ran into Henry.

"You are Agent Olin?" Dr.Wright asked "I'm Doctor Tobias Wright, PhD, former NEST intelligence and genetics professor. I have some information that may be useful to you."

Henry stepped back, as to avoid the scientist to keep them both from damaging anything on their bodies. "Shoot, sorry about that," Henry said. He quieted as the strange, octopus man began to speak. In the meantime, Henry was searching his name in his PIP, to try and get an idea of who he was dealing with. He was indeed who he said he was. He reached forward with one of his hands- the polite thing to do. "Henry Olin, Captain of the Black Fall division of NEST. It's a pleasure to meet you, Doctor." They exchanged a rather slimy handshake.

"Anyways," Wright began. Once more Sarah projected the iPad screen onto the wall "I received some DNA samples from Professor Blackmore last night and I took a karyotype to see what exactly we were dealing with. What I discovered is...troubling. I examined the caps of the DNA chromosomes, the telomeres, which are the parts of the DNA which are correlated to aging. There is minimal damage to them whatsoever. What that means from a biological perspective, is that these things weren't born; they were made, by someone or something on the island."

"As someone who deal with this kind of stuff on a semi-regular basis, I like you're theory." Henry replied "But I'm still not ruling out the possibility of a bus sized mother out there if these things are babies."

"If there was anything that big on the island, we'd know about it." Wright said confidently "We may not be NEST, but our security is good enough to find a mother the size of a blue whale. These things are far-"

"Your security is obviously not ot good enough to stop several killings in one night though. That's what I'm interested in."

"Stopping an army of spontaneously-created genetic freaks is harder than finding a mother big enough for them. If they were made instantly they could have gotten through the webs with ease."

"Well, look at you and I? We've done it before." Henry said with a wink "Here, let's run some of the names by me, I can pull them up on my PIP and send whatever you need directly to you through a method of your choice. Verthaven's got a database of every meta that's ever been recorded by NEST or born in the past seventy years on file and... well, I have access to those files."

"Very well." Wright said "While you take care of that, I'm going to run through the student database and see if we get any matches."

"Hit me with a name."

"I'll have to go to the headmaster to access the database." Wright concluded "If you'd like, you can use the computers in my lab to expedite your search. Sarah?" Sarah's eyes winked off and she nodded meekly to show Henry which way to go.

"This way, Agent Olin." she said in a fearful voice.

"Please, just call me Henry." he said.
