Yugioh: The King's Shadow

Yugi didn't say much, just watched the others and answered their questions with few words. When everyone was done asking questions Yugi went outside as the others went to bed. Yugi leaned against the wall outside, sighing deeply. He was really scared for the first time in years. He was tired, and he didn't know how long he could keep his calm.

Serena smiled weakly and nodded, moving hair from his face again. "We did it...and everyone is safe. You were the one I was worried about...but I guess you wouldn't be the king of games if a little fight with a lost God would finish you..." She looked tired and worn out. She looked at him and asked "how are you feeling?"

Yugi smiled and said "come stay with us, everyone else is there. Serena?" Yugi looked at Serena who was starting to look worse for wear. She smiled weakly and said "I think I will this time...I want to make sure Yami is alright..."

An hour later Serena pulled up to the game shop, the lights inside on. Yugi sighed and said "I was hoping to give Yami some peace and quiet so he could rest..." Serena looked around and said "if you guys distract the others, I'll get Yami to his room another way" Yugi nodded and Serena pulled Yami onto her back and headed for the backyard.

Serena laid Yami in his bed, moving his hair out of his face. She sighed, watching him sleep. "I'm sorry...I should have tried harder to keep you safe..." She sat down on the bed, rubbing her forehead. She had dried blood on her face from the nose bleed and the fighting. She looked at the staff, which luckily had a clapsilbe trick so it was now as long as her hand. She looked at the writing on the gold plating, trying to make it out. "What does all of this mean..."

The god moved its head under Dukes hand and rubbed against it, very happy he was safe. Serena looked at slifer and Ra and said "I will watch over the Pharoh, you may return to your world until we call for you again" Ra nodded and cried out then vanished in a gold light. After the duel monsters returned Khumn sighed sadly then vanished into light as well, a pendent appearing around Dukes neck.

Serena picked Yami up and said "my van is around the corner...lets get out of here..."

Serena pulled Yami into her lap and said "the god attacked him...I was able to scare him off...I think his alright..." Yugi knelt down and said "Yami..." He pulled out his cell and started to dial the house. But Swrena held up a hand. "I brought the van. I'll just take you guys back the the shop..." Khumn looked at Duke and then rubbed it's head against Dukes shoulder. Serena said quickly "Duke, this is Khumn, the god of creation. He likes you"

Robin nodded and said "I spooked her when I went to check on her...she snapped...I shouldn't have touched her...this is all my fault..." Batman waved to them and said "then let's go fix this...holding cells lets go"

Artemis pulled a wire and the doors opened. "Let's get her some help them...think you can help her Connor?"

Riza would hear a rattling above her then one of the vents fell to the floor and robin jumped out, landing by her. He got up and looked around. "Riza, I'm glad I found you. I think Wolf hit the lock down alarm. Something is wrong with her..." The doors suddenly opened and Batman walked in. He smirked at the pair and said "don't look surprised, I did build this place. Come on, the alarm was triggered in the holding cells..."

Artemis was working on opening the doors to the hallway, worried. "Connor, how do you know she was seeing red?"

Serena hit one the monsters back before the gods arrived, Ra hitting the near monsters away and screaming. Serena smiled and laid Yami in the claws of the dragon then jumped onto its back, Ra leading their way out. When they reached the top of the cloud and were out of the shadows, the cloud started to pull back and vanish. Serena saw the other God waiting for them to land, walking over to where Duke and Yugi were.

Yugi sat up, holding his head. "I'm okay Duke...look! The shadow realm is pulling back...Yami! Serena!" When the dragon landed Serena jumped off and went to Yamis side, panting as she did. The power she felt before was gone, the staff still in her hand.

Yugi looked up at Ra who was flying above them, trying to find a way into the shadows and he shook his head. "It wasn't him...it must have been Slifer! Something must have happened in there!" He ran to shadows and tried to go in but the shadow wrapped around him and threw him backward, Yugi slamming against the wall and sliding down, hitting the ground.

The god above hissed again as Serena faced it, seeing Yami was out cold. She swung the staff and yelled "Come fight me! You fear me, a mortal against a god?" The creature hissed again and moved down, Yami closer to the ground now. Serena felt a power growing within her, along with her worry and concern for yami. Why am I feeling like this? Its like a flame building in my soul...

Serena waited till the red eyes were level with her and a hissing voice said "Who are you to stop my return? I will bring darkness back to the world...and nothing will stop me..." Serena held the staff up and said "I will stand in your way...as will my king! The Light and the Shadow will stop the darkness once more!" Serena had no idea where the words came from but she didn't question it. She felt stronger, like she could do anything. Then her pendent glowed brighter and a huge shadow appeared, shape a lot like a huge wolf. It moved towards the red eyes, a growl echoing in the darkness. The eyes moved back, Serena moving forward.

"You have no power here...leave before I force you too!" Serena cried out, holding out her hand. A bright light burst from her staff and hit the god, sending it backward. It hissed and cried out, the shadows wrapped around Yami releasing him and Yami fell to the ground. Serena ran forward and caught him in her arms. She held him against her shoulder, blocking him from the god with her body. She glared at the eyes, her eyes glowing gold.

The shadow growled again and the hissing voice said "I will have the heart of the king...I will not be denied again by the King's Shadow!" The eyes flashed Red brightly then vanished. But then in their place appeared monsters, the dark creatures of the shadow realm. Serena stood, pulling Yami with her and pulling him onto her back. "Hang on Yami...I'll think of something..." she looked around, but the wolf like shadow was gone and the staff was glowing brightly still. She held it up and closed her eyes.

"If any creature or god that serves the Pharaoh...his shadow calls for your aid..."
