Serena nodded and closed the file. “Well nothing too interesting but good to know what they know...” she sighed and finished the coffee again. “Dang it...it’s not working...” she got up and walked around a little, trying to wake up. “We stayed up to make sure no one tried to take you...just need to wake up...” she paused and rubbed her eyes.

Bane looked at her and said “he saved our necks when that plane blew up...and my honor says I have to repay that debt...please Vos. Is there anything we can do? A wrist band instead of the collar? Anything? Please Vos...you know how my inner wolf gets when it comes to things like this...”

Serena looked over at what he was reading and said “I found it off too...from what I heard over the years that never seemed right...but we can figure it out...” she closed her eyes a moment and rolled her neck. Then said “where is your sword? We didn’t leave it at the temple did we? It’s safe there...might be tricky to get it but I can go get it back for you if you wish” she looked at him, looking more tired if it were possible. She drank more coffee, hoping the caffeine would help but it wasn’t working as well to cover up how tired she was. She moved her sword to the table now that he was next to her, easier to grab in case of trouble.

Bane looked at the image and said “it smelled off too...it didn’t belong to the area. It was like it was photoshopped on the street...” he suddenly yawned and covered his mouth. “Sorry captain...what would you like us to do next?”

Serena looked up and smiled softly at him. “VT is very skilled hacker. He got your file that they had on you. I was seeing what they had to make sure they don’t have any surprises in store...also is your sword missing? I looked for it and the guard said you didn’t have it...” she picked up the coffee and moved over on the couch so he could sit and see what she was looking at.

Bane rolled his neck and said “I can handle her...she is just stressed...” he walked in and said “morning captain...we have the report for you and I have the scanner read outs for you...live feeds will help.” He smiled weakly and finished his coffee and muttered “will get more coffee later...”

Serena gasped in pain held her shoulder, fighting not to black out. She muttered thanks then closed her eyes. “I haven’t seen it...I’ll see what I can find in the report...”

Bane stood and rolled his neck, finishing the coffee. “I’ll go with ya VT...Serena?” She waved them off as she read over the file and the pair left. Bane rubbed his eyes as they walked and said “maybe the sword vanished when he was out of energy? Or we left it by mistake...I can look for it later if he doesn’t have it...” he looked beat as they headed Vos’s office, not looking forward to being yelled at.

Serena was looking over the file, fighting to keep her eyes open as her sword lay on her lap at the ready. She paused at something on a report and muttered “hold on...the shrine was made here...maybe his from somewhere nearby...spirits always pick something they are familiar with...” she moved to drink more coffee but the cup was empty and she sighed.

Serena picked up the file and opened it, smiling. “Is this his whole file?” Bane nodded and moved over to his desk and pulled a file off the printer and handed it to him. “Report and I sent all the data to your server...” he drank from the coffee again, dark shadows under his eyes.

Serena was reading thru the file and said “this is a lot of info...I’d hate to see what they had on me...” she yawned, holding her shoulder. “VT? That reminds me...can you pop my shoulder back into place? I messed it up and Bane wanted you to check it before he tried...”

Bane walked over and took the coffee with a thank you, rubbing his neck as he drank it. Serena looked up and said “we couldn’t sleep...and weapons are out in case the company tried to move Toraksui back to the prison...”

Bane looked at VT and said “we didn’t want to take any chances...how long till the meeting with Vos?”

Serena took it to the common area and into the spare room, sitting it on the head board of the bed and smiling at him. “Good night Toraksui...” then she sighed and moved to the common room. Her and Bane sat on the couches and both pulled their weapons out.

Bane looked at her and said “take shifts?” Serena nodded and said “you sleep first...” bane nodded and leaned back and closed his eyes. They wouldn’t tell the other two, but they didn’t trust the company to leave Toraksui alone. They would stay up all night to make sure they didn’t take him again.

A few hours in both of them were awake, not able to sleep even though they both needed it. Serena was trying to rewrap her busted shoulder as Bane was pacing around.

Bane glared as she walked off and handed the statue to Serena who took it carefully and held it in her arms. Bane looked tired again as he muttered “I’ll go to the tech department and figure out a compromise on the collar...” he rubbed his eyes and cursed softly in Norse.

Serena smiled weakly at Toraksui. “Can you hold your shrine? Some spirits can and others can’t. Where do you want to stay tonight? Bane and I have been sharing a common room, I think there’s three bedrooms in it if you want your own space...”

Bane looked at VT and said “I have the data on my computer...I can send it to wherever we need...” the pair started walking, both needing the healing room but neither turned to go there. Serena hugged the statue safely, not wanting anything to happen to it.

For Freedom or Rewards {private}

Bane rolled his neck and shoulders as he got out and said “by how it feels, that would be my guess. I’m not a pilot but I’ve been on enough of them...” he looked over at Clyde and said “Clyde it is then. We will need to track down the medical bay on the ship and make sure yur not missing anything...”

Dante smiled and winked at fallen and said “thank you kindly for those words, madam. But it’s more the luck I get from it. It’s a lucky hat for me...” suddenly a shadow poked up and was holding the hat for him. Dante smiled and put it on his head, looking around to see Serena at the window looking out. She didn’t say much, rubbing a scar on her forearm.

Bane moved next to Nancy and said “captain Bane Clawson at your service. Shall we get cracking?” Dante stood by Fallen and muttered “breath taking isn’t it...who knows wha we will find out there...”

Bane loooed at her and muttered “does my past record not speak of my honor to you, Vos? I wouldn’t betray your faith in me...” Serena nodded and said “you said it was time to right some wrongs...this is a good place to start. The gateway burst today because the past sins done to the realm of spirits...it can’t keep going like this...something must change”

Serena didn’t move from Toraksui, ready for a fight. Bane was still loose, knowing the captain would understand where he was coming from. “You want a stronger team Vos...faith in us would help that become reality”
