Dante nodded and tilted his head to avoid the sword then pulled out a notebook. “Alright Master Toraksui how are these tests normally done? I haven’t done one with you before so I don’t want to change things too much from the norm...only make it better?” He looked up and saw the shadow hanging out. He smiled again and said “she is here...the goddess has sent one of her shadows to watch over you...” he sat down in the chair and looked up at the kitsune, his eyes glowing softly. The way he talked about Serena would make anyone skin crawl.

Bane nodded as they walked and said “I heard a rumor...they called Vale to come to the office...Serena won’t be happy...” he paused and looked around. “There’s a odd feeling here...what do we need to do here?”

Dante chuckled and snapped his fingers. His demonic chaos magic moved around the room and undid the chains. “Well I am running your tests today so shall we get started? Then I have an appointment with...” he paused and smiled a sly smile and muttered “the dear lady night...such a lovely creature of shadows...I wonder if she’s here right now...” he had a hungry look in his eyes when he said her name.

Bane growled and said “ghosts...so not in the mood for ghosts...” he followed the droid into the village and said “how did they catch Toraksui? You were there right?”

Dante took the file and his eyes glowed. “No worries, I make great first impressions...I can handle this” he bowed his head and left the room. He walked down the hallway to the lab, looking over the file. “Interesting...” he walked into the lab and headed for the chamber. He paused looking up and saw them locked. He sighed and said “what is this old school?” He waved his hand and his red magic moved and opened the doors for him. He walked in and said “pardon me, master...” he paused and looked at the file. “Master Toraksui? I hope I’m saying that right. I am Dante Vale. I’ll be running your power level tests...mind telling me why your in here? Or was that why the guards were running around like chickens?”

Bane shook his head and said “I wasn’t with the company when it happened...but from what I’ve read, there are some things that don’t add up about the whole thing”

Serena felt the magic was over her and muttered “Torak...what...” she fell against him, the magic hitting hard. She faintly felt his arms around her before she passed out completely. Her twin blades glowed in thanks as he picked them up. When he was taken the shadows followed him, intending to keep her word to him. One way or another.

Vos would hear her door open and a voice said “your guards are very jumpy, captain vos...one just tripped and fell on his face” a man stood there, his bright deep red hair looking like fire and his eyes were like lava orange. He wore a three piece suit and hat to match. He walked in and said “sorry it took me so long to get here. Dante Vale at your service. Your demon expert has returned.”

Bane knew the girl wasn’t human and he looked back at the shrine. He bent down and reached into his pocket and ripped out a paper from his notebook. He quickly folded it into a flower and set it by his marker. “It’s not much but...” he stood back up and said “VT...we have to fix this...somehow...”

Serena looked at him, her eyes burning as she said “too many lives are at risk Toraksui...I just want to do everything I can...” she sighed and tried to move the blades again but they flashed and made her drop them. She cursed and moved to picked them up, the room spinning on her. “You don’t have to worry...” she was a stubborn woman.

Bane nodded and said “it smells like his blade...what is going on? The air is different here...”

Serena waved him off and muttered “I have to respect my blades...they weren’t meant to be apart...I have to make sure they are in tune with each other...” she started to moved back to the start but her swords shook in her hands, not wanting her to hurt herself anymore. She shook her head and muttered “don’t you start acting up now...”

Bane flinched again then saw the plugs and put them in, sighing “thanks VT...let’s get moving. I don’t think we are wanted here...”

Bane nodded and said “my ears are picking up a high pitched ringing...somewhere south of here...ouch” he rubbed his temple, the ringing getting higher pitched.

Serena sighed and nodded, looking worn out. “The twins are back to level...next mission remind me to push to give them both to me...they are at risk...of shattering if used apart...” she put them back in their sheathes and stumbled back. Torak would now feel the levels of energy coming off of her. She had used magic during the session to bring her blades back to peace. And it was taxing. She muttered “I think one more round...should be good...” she swayed a little, forcing herself to keep going.

Bane looked around as they walked and said “just like Toraksuis...where the heck are we...” he flinched and held his ears. “dang it...there’s a ringing...”

Serena flinched at her knee then nodded. She took a breath and lightened her footing, breathing evenly as she swung the blades together. Soon it looked more like a dance then fighting, which is how she made it look magical. She even closed her eyes in the movements, losing herself in the motions. The shadows gathered around her as she moved, acting with her.

Bane sniffed the air and muttered “the scent isn’t normal either...there’s a magic here...an old magic. Let’s get this done fast...” he started following the path, his senses picking up everything around them.

Serena nodded as the doors opened and said “ya...but I need to get the twins back in sync...” she headed to the open training area, swinging the blades in her hands to get warmed up. But she was running on fumes now, and this wouldn’t end well if she kept going.

She jumped onto the mat and said “once my father went a week without stopping. There was a huge problem with the lower spirits...he didn’t stop until that friend I was telling you about finally put him into a trance and made him sleep. Now...let’s try this..” she started swinging her blades, even being as tired she was her form was perfect.

Bane groaned and opened his eyes, rolling his neck and muttered “I dosed off...sorry. Ya let’s go...” he grabbed his gear and headed off the plane. He looked around and said “I haven’t hiked in a long time...”

The guard came back with the blade and Serena took them back. “Thank you...” she turned to head to the training floor and said as they walked “father was skilled in the elements...he had a friend that was a psychic that was able to put someone in a trance with one look...very skilled...” they got onto lifts and headed down. She stood there and rubbed her eyes. “Maybe I’ll do a short training session...”
