John looked at her and said “it’s different when it’s my mistakes that got others hurt…it’s the same thing over and over again…I keep hurting people when I help…am I any better then the monsters out there?” He looked away, the past creeping in and haunting.

Serena smiled at him and nodded. “Okay…I’m worried about him. This place isn’t good for him either. I sense something around here…something dark…and not my kind of dark. This kinds of places always have a nasty around. Feeding off the pain and fear…” she frowned and sat up a little. “Chas…does John feel guilty for his past?”

John sighed and rubbed his wound and said “Serena is going to be in pain all night…I hate I can’t just get us out of here…especially because this is my fault…”

Serena sighed and nodded, flinching at her wound and said “I just don’t want the fuss…John doesn’t need to worry about me…he is in worse shape then me…” she rubbed her temples, her head killing her.

Kohn moved to stop her but sighed and nodded. “Alright love you win…Serena? Don’t pause to call for help alright?” He let her push her put as Serena sighed and rubbed her face. “You don’t have to stay Chas…you have a little girl to be with right now…”

John moved to the bed and laid back down, flinching. “It wasn’t so bad moving into the chair…put hurts more…”

John frowned and looked at Serena and said “alright…we just need to keep an eye out for anything…any one could sense Serena or Kay here and feel they can come for help…that can’t happen while Serena is down. Her shadows won’t be able to stop and it will hurt her more…”

John wasn’t like Chas and said “love your lying. You can’t last all night if anything happens to my seal…we could just sneak out during all the fuss down stairs.” Serena raised an eyebrow and said “John, we both need wheel chairs and you need the pins removed from your knee. We can’t go anywhere till all the hardware is removed and we are cleared. I’ll survive one night…two if we must…you can’t take this lightly. You were hurt badly…it will take time for the wounds to heal”

Serena glanced up and said “yes but I’m sure they arent saying anything because of the wave that just hit. I can feel it downstairs. The ER is full from some huge accident that happened…a lot of injuries. It would be best if we stayed up here…” John frowned and said “Serena…you sure you’ll be okay?”

Serena smiled weakly and said “of course…” she was lying thru her teeth. As soon as she was alone and the seal got old, the voices would come back and flood her. It would be a long night.

John smiled at her and said “I don’t think I would mind at all…she’s a keeper” Serena looked up and smiled; seeing how he was looking at Kay. She knew the look all too well.

Serena looked down at her pizza, getting lost in her thoughts of the past again. John took a bite of pizza and said “so what can we do to get out of here?”

John sat back down as soon as she glared and said “I was only up a moment. Serena needed a barrier…” Serena smiled weakly, looking worse for wear. “Thank you John…it does help. I still hear the voices but not as overwhelming now…”

Serena blinked then glanced up at him, his voice breaking thru the other ones smashing against her. “Chas?…sorry…it’s really hard to hear anything…” John was standing carefully as he finished the seal and said “almost done love…just hang on…”

John moved a little and rested his hand on the seal and it flowed white. “Alright it’s on…Serena? Still hear the voices?” Serena blinked and her eyes cleared a little. “Ya but not nearly so bad…I feel Kay is back in the building”
