Trish sat up and thought for a minute. Then she said “maybe that would be best…I can’t shake the feeling something bad is going to happen…but it might be worse to handle if I’m there…”

Serena smiled as she made bags of snacks and said “she is a sweet kid…it has been a while…” she turned sharply and was much closer to josh then she meant to be. “Oh…sorry…”

John felt her there and calmed as she moved into his arms. He seemed to do better with her there surprisingly.

Serena turned and sighed. “It’s good to see you, Samuel…it’s been a mess the last few months…But you know I can’t leave here without him. Brother didn’t leave like we thought. The company took him. So I’m here to get him back…the. I can return to the gate…” she picked up her blades and put them on her back. “But…if you got out it means the gate isn’t secure. I have to go back and check the seals…” she faced him, shaking slightly. “I’m sorry Sam…I didn’t mean to vanish. I didn’t think things would end up like this…”

Bane nodded and said “rest up, fox man. You have had a bad day. Let us handle it. Some how”

Dante raised an eyebrow and said “never alone…they always had VT with them or another…they have a history…”

Serena smiled weakly and headed out of the room to the training room, Bane glaring at them. “Guys, she can’t go out like this. It’s not safe. She’s still recovering from helping Torok…”

Dante smiled and his eyes glowed again. “Oh I have a feeling his from her gate…the stories I’ve heard about the Night Gate are quite interesting”

Trish sighed and asked “would josh feel better me staying here?”

Serena smiled and got up to follow him into the kitchen. She grabbed a bag to put things in. Then she said “I’ve had a bad time with relationships…I’d hate to disappoint Trish…” she was right by Josh, shoulder to shoulder.

John was on the couch in the den. Tossing on the couch, he seemed to be having one of his nightmares again. He was muttering softly, sweat running down his face.

Serena sighed and said “more then likely when my brother was taken…the seals could be getting lose since I’ve been all over the place. I should go check the seals…” she moved to get her bag and looked around. “Did my swords get taken back to the vault?”

Bane stared at her then at the other two. “Umm…guys?”

Dante’s eyes glowed softly and said “I wouldn’t trust him too much when it comes to her…you should look into the history of the Night Gate…more there then you think”

Serena paused then said “oh…now I remember dealing with him…his from the Night Gate…I didn’t know he was even here. But that can be dealt with later” she looked at Toro and asked “how are you feeling?”

Bane stared and said “scan her. Make sure he didn’t do anything to her. Like heck it was by mistake he tapped into her meditation…” Serena rubbed her eyes again, her head pounding.

Dante glanced at her and said “what was his assignment? I didn’t know dang. Oh was working on a new case…you know to keep him from Lady Night right?”

Bane growled and said “I’m with Toro. Let’s blast him…” Serena leaned against the wall and held her head. “Just my head is killing me…wait? Who was that? I swear I know him from somewhere…”

Dante was trying to stay awake as he said “vos…is the bat still here?”

Bane growled and said “you should know better then…check the mental plane before going full power. There are a lot of people here who use it and…” a shadow moved and rested on Banes shoulder.

Serena slowly got up and said “it’s fine…I’ll be fine…” bane looked over and said “no your not…you look worse then you did coming in here…” Serena waved them off and said “I’m good…I’ll go check on things…”

Bane growled and said “she’s low on energy. Where the heck have you been?! We had a major emergency and you were no where to be found. She was trying to recover from saving the whole building. Fix this”

Serena was trying to sit up, shaking as she held her head. “Toro…”

Dante smiled and said weakly “you have gather quite the team, my dear Vos…they can handle things”

Bane got up and followed the robot and opened the door. The room was full again of her shadows as Serena was tossing on the floor, holding her head. Bane sniffed the air and growled. “I smell demon”

Dante nodded and slid to the floor, breathing hard. “That…sounds like a great idea…”
