Dante nodded and said “we got her. Go for it” he moved to try help with the wound as much as he could.

The girl at the desk jumped up and said “what’s happening” the main doors opened and Bane ran in with Iris right behind him. Bane made it to Matias and said “we are here what’s going on?”

Dante moved so Midnight could see him and said “I understand why you thought you had to hide. If you were found out, the captial would have taken your place. Your work would be at risk. But there’s not reason to hide from us, lady midnight…we are family remember? You brought us together…”

She smiled weakly and a couple tears ran down her cheek. “I’m sorry…I didn’t want anyone suffering because of me…I protect the people…in the light and shadows…but your right, I should have told you.” She flinched and Donny said “this is lovely but we need a way to stop the bleeding.” Midnight smiled and said “Iris will be able to help…she is the best….

Dante stood and checked his watch. “They should be here soon…we need to let the front desk know to let them in…”

John watched her sleep a while before he was able to fall asleep. Finally at dawn he passed out from the sure strain of everything and was breathing faintly next to her as she woke.

Serena luckily had been able to sleep thru the night for once, the weakness slowly wearing off with the much needed rest.

Midnight sighed and close her eyes. Dante was trying to stay away from the blood so he didn’t take any chances.

Midnight said “I couldn’t risk the team…I just needed to get out and patch up…I was meeting you guys here and to keep my cover I needed to be here…and I can’t let the others find out…if anyone of those we face find out…they will be targets. I don’t want to risk anyone…not for me…”

Dante glanced at her and said “isn’t that our choice?”

Iris voice rang out on the phone “Matias? Matias! Dang it we are coming now just hold on!”

Dante was keeping his face turned away as he said “we need to get to the wound now” he couldn’t get close or touch the blood. Donny moved and helped lay Midnight down and said “I thought I secured it…”

Midnight gasped and said “they were perfect Donny…I hit the table…must have popped them…such a dumb move…”

Bane paused then said “your at the meeting right? I’ll get her to the phone while I get the van ready” there was a pause then Iris picked up.

“Matias? What’s wrong? Is Dante or you hurt?”

Dante was pulled the vest buttons off and checking the wound with the first aid kit open. He looked over and when Matias was waiting said “don’t say her name over the line. Not sure if it’s secure or not”

Midnight was breathing hard, her wound getting worse. She cursed and said “k I’mm sorry…both of you…i thought…”

Dante held up a hand and said “sorry. I talk when I freak out” the door opened and Donny walked back in. He went white and said “my lady what’s happened? Did my stitches not hold”

He moved to the bookshelf and move a book to show a hidden back shelf and pulled a first aid kit out and moved over.

The phone picked up and Bane answered “Welders Company” it was the cover they had for the warehouse.

Dante raised his hands and said “what? It’s the same spot and the boss is missing…” He moved over and knelt in front of her and checked where she was holding. When he moved her hand blood was soaking thru her blouse and vest.

Dante cursed and said “looks like we found the boss…”

Midnight looked at Matias and said “the stitches must have come loose…” Dante looked at Matias and said “call Iris…we can’t walk out with her like this”

Dante frowned and said “Lady Midnight we’re you injured?” He let Matias move to the lady, trying to figure out was going on.

Lady Midnight was holding her side right under her heart, trying to catch her breath. She said as Matias came over “just a small problem. Had to reason with someone last night that didn’t agree with my thoughts and took it to extremes…”

Dante was watching her closely then said “Matias…where is she injured?”

Dante in the chair next to him and sighed, rubbing his face. The fawn went into the next room and Dante looked at him.

“I know your mad at me right now but…could you not mention that moment to the others? Just mainly Bane and Scarlet. They are protective and I don’t want to start something with them…”

Then the door opened and the most striking woman walked into the room. She had dark raven hair and bright silver eyes. She was wearing grey slacks with a matching vest and black blouse. She walked over to them and smiled such a warm smile it seemed to warm the room.

“Welcome detective vale. I’ve heard so much about you. And this must be your consult?” Dante bowed his head and stood, taking her hand and kissing the top of it.

“Yes my lady. We are thankful you were able to take time out of your busy day to see us” midnight waved her free hand and motioned for them both to sit back down.

“No trouble at all. I’m glad I’m finally able to help with the missing souls. I hate to took the poor girl taken last to get the attention. But now it can be solved. What do you need from me?”

Dante looked at Matias and then said “everything you have on the case” she stood and moved to her desk at the window as she said “I can give you all I have. I have copies for you” she moved to the desk, seeming to favor her side as she turned back to them. “

Would you boys like some tea? I can ask Donny to” but she bumping into the desk with the side she was favoring and suddenly went white. She flinched and held it, leaning on the desk. Dante moved to get up and said “Lady Midnight? Are you alright?”

She smiled thru the pain and said “of course…I’m…” Dante looked at Matias and said softly “what side did the boss get hurt on last night?”
