Midnight smiled and said “there’s a reason I’m head of government security and information. He is very good. It’s his nature” she looked over as Bane said “Dante is worse off. Beaten up on top of whatever else is going on.”

Iris looked up and said “half his rib cage is broken, his got holy water burns all over him…everything they could have used to hurt a vampire they did…I’m just trying to get a handle on it all”

Serena leaned into her shoulder, shaking slightly. “The rage and power I felt…it scares me now how easy it was to cut loose…I don’t want to feel like that again Kay…”

John sighed and nodded. “Just worried is all…”

A couple tears fell and landed in Serena’s tea as she listened to Kay. She lowered her head and said “I’m so sorry Kay…I should have been more careful…you shouldn’t have been put at any risk…” she closed her eyes, the ache in her chest loosening a little.

John was trying to hear from the other room while Sam watched him. He sighed and muttered “talking too low…”

Midnight took the phone and looked it over. “Now is where I come in…” she sent the info to her phone and then said “let my guy at the office look this over.”

Bane looked over and smiled. “Scarlet will be alright. Dante…” Iris didn’t look up as she worked, sweating as she worked to stabilize him

Serena looked up slightly and said “I went too far…in the moment it felt right and needed to be done but…now I’m not sure…I let my shadows have him. I was just so angry…telling me I shouldn’t be protecting you…that I was more…all I saw was red…”

Midnight looked at the paper for him and nodded. “Yes, a high breed. Does that mean anything to you?”

Iris was working on Dante who was in bad shape. Bane was treating Scarlet who couldn’t take her eyes off of Dante.

Bane nodded and said “I’ll work on making this the base for a time. Iris?” Iris was already working on Dante and said “his in bad shape. This will take time…if he had been human he would be dead”

Scarlet sighed and looked at Matias. “Well? What does the report say?”

Iris was getting the shirt off of Dante. She hissed at the new wounds and shook her head. Midnight carefully got up and went over to Matias. “What’s it say?”

Scarlet smiled and said “just open them already. He did it for you” Midnight nodded and added “indeed. Let’s get this mystery solved shall we?” Then they heard the front door open.

“It must be Iris and Bane.” And true to her words Iris and Bane ran in. Iris stared and asked “what happened? Are you alright? “ scarlet nodded as the sage moved to Dante and started checking him. She looked at Matias and said “has he woken up at all?”

Scarlet smiled softly and said “your notes. It’s the labs on them. It’s why he was in there so long…he waited till they were finished…” midnight cursed and looked at Dante

Serena hadn’t moved. Just staring into the tea cup with her dark eyes.
