Bane moved to the window and said “well…if he needs help he will send word somehow…” he looked back at Dante who was now looking at Matias. “About last night…for all the trouble I caused…”

Midnight was pacing in the office, trying to think of a plan to keep her secrets in place in the darkness.

Bane frowned and asked “well which of the ones that don’t like him could give us information m?”

Serena sighed and closed her eyes a moment. “I was going for a hell Mary in all honesty…”

Bane folded his arms and said “but she’s at the capital building? Wouldn’t they have run dna on their own people?” Dante was pacing as he muttered “unless she faked the sample when she was sworn in…”

Bane looked over and asked “why? That sample says it’s old. Like really old. Why would it be flagged?”

Dante shook his head and said “she’s hiding more then we thought…”

Bane frowned at the news and muttered “that’s not good…that means tonight something worse was going to happen…but what? Clearly not his death since she wouldn’t be there if he was meant to die…any clues what it was supposed to be?”

Serena nodded weakly and said “Josh…I’ve never tried to use my medical skills like that before…I still can’t believe it worked…”

Chas would hear steps and Bane stumbled the last few steps. “She is safe and asleep. I thought I’d check on John…is everyone alright down here? I smell angel feathers?”

Serena sighed and then nodded “ya…sleep sounds like a good idea…”

Midnight walked over and looked over the file, then went white. She swallowed and stepped back and said “I’m going to go check on things…” she left the room and the door shut. Bane frowned and said “what the heck? She looked like she saw a ghost”

Dante shrugged and said “when I saw them they were on the black file. I don’t think they have enough dna to track with. But Matias why would they be tracking you? And the other one…is it blacked out?”

Midnight shut the door to her office, breathing hard. “No…they can’t know…this is bad…I have to get of that information before it leads back to anything of the past…”

John nodded weakly and said “right…fully recovered…that’s a good…idea…” he suddenly fell forward against Chas, his strength gone.

Serena looked at him and said “she scares you? I’m surprised I don’t…”

John was panting as he muttered “she’s my kid alright…but lucky for us it didn’t mess up the timeline…” he held his head and added “and someone I know could help with this…but I don’t know who he is talking about…” he held onto Chas’s arms, his whole body shaking as he said “I have to tell Kay…I’m not sure how she will take it but I have…” he was fading fast as he hung his head.

Serena smirked then asked “you went after John without even a question…that’s a good man in my book”

Dante sighed and shook his head. “Not him directly guys. I mean whenever the lab had that dna come thru, a alarm was sent to someone in the high capital building. Our bug friend here isn’t being location tracked.”

Bane picked up the file and found what Dante was talking about. “It’s here at the end. Any time one of the three DNA signatures came up in the lab a email alarm was sent. Our bug friend here is one. The other two…I don’t know what these ones are” he held the file to Matias so he could see it for himself.

Midnight frowned, a different look of concern on her face as he slowly stood up and said “there are three?”

John went even paler when manny spoke, his theory confirmed. Then he said weakly “who can we go to figure this all out then? Or is that interfering as well?” He took a couple shaky steps, fighting to stay up right but wouldn’t be on her guard around the Angel. He was tense after the few days they had had.

Serena blushed at his words and said “I’ve never…had anyone talk to me like this…not since…well, your amazing for all you have handled during all of this”
