Trish looked at John then said “maybe that’s what was causing the pain? Maybe that’s was the way to fix it. Well, now he can start to recover fully right?”

Serena nodded and said “let’s find out information on it first, that way if we can track we aren’t going into unknown territory”

John groaned softly and turned his head slightly. He closed his eye as the warm feeling washed over and with in a few minutes he was fast asleep. Trish blinked and asked “how did you do that?”

Serena nodded and picked up the coin. “It seems we need to find someone who can tell us what this coin is and where it’s from…”

Trish leaned back then said “wait, what about tears? Don’t tears have some affect on healing or something?”

Serena jumped up and ran over, looking at the coin. “That’s a clue alright. It looks Asian I think…Chas? This mean anything to you?”

Trish sat on the stool by the bed, John taking the pills and swallowing them. Trish played on the stool for a moment before asking “find anything yet?”

Serena nodded as she stood up. “Ya, this is heavy stuff. Now if we can find something to figure out where these guys came from then we can follow their scent back to who hired them”

Trish nodded and took off out of the room. John nodded and said weakly “ya…my head is killing me…” Trish came back with the book and handed it to Kay.

Serena stood and moved to Chas and looked at the spot. “Heavy magic here…” she knelt down and touched the ground. The seal appeared glowing and she whistled “this is crazy. Chas take a picture of this thing”

Trish frowned and said “I’m sure you have magic too. Why wouldn’t you? Maybe asked your pretty friend what she thinks?” John held his head, his head now doing a dull pounding.

Serena knelt down and touched the ground, the shadows moving to speak with her. She closed her eyes and muttered “two spells were at work. Some kind of cloaking spell…and one I’ve never seen before.” She pulled out a small note pad from her jacket and drew out the spell seal she was seeing. She looked at it and said “dark magic for sure…but we might have to ask John what the spell does for sure.”

She stood up and said “okay, where did the portal open for our gang members to fall into?”

Trish looked at her and said “Serena said it would take time. We just have to get him to rest. Maybe use your magic to just get him to sleep? That wouldn’t be pushing too hard would it?” John frowned and said almost drunkly “hold on…no Jedi mind tricks…”

Serena walked over and said “right here there’s a lot of energy marked. Someone was working a spell right here but they didn’t finish. You didn’t see anyone standing here or something?”

Trish tilted her bead and asked “did he hit his head last night?” John nodded weakly and muttered “and I passed out…”

Serena nodded and said “mote then likely yes. But they were all pulled into the portal…wait…” she paused and held her hand out to one side. “What happened over here?”

John blinked hard and said “I don’t think so…I’ve taken these before and they shouldn’t be like I had a night at the bar…”

Serena looked around and said “there were six…all affected by magic of some kind…they all ganged up on him…but one was standing back and watching…almost like he was waiting for something…”

John smiled with a thumbs up and Trish frowned. “I think that’s a clue he feels different…it’s like his drunk”

Serena opened the door and walked over to the alleyway. She saw blood all over and she frowned. She had to pause sensing the shadows around them telling her the tale. She closed her eyes a moment, fighting the tears fighting to come. She said softly “he let them beat him…knowing if he fought back it would put us at risk…he knew my shadow was tailing him…”
