Serena looked at him and nodded. “I’m stuck Chas…I’ll only slow you down. I think these guys are after you. It’s your cab and they couldn’t have known we would be with you…get going and I’ll catch up…” she was trying to free her leg, shaking badly as the three hooded men got closer. “Go Chas…”

He smiled and said “I can’t say names…it’s messes with the whole time line thing. But you’ve heard my name used for another. Someone dear to my mom. And it all means what you mean by worse. There are challenges ahead but…nothing you and uncle John can’t handle…and we will be helping when we can when it comes to the trouble coming from our end. Now, I need to warn my mom not to go out today. She’s the one in danger next.

Serena turned so she was loose off the glass and muttered “Get Josh out of here. I can hide in shadows…I can distract them…you two need to get out of here…” she was trying to free her leg that was pinned against the door ans seat, blood coming from some where on her person.

He sighed and said “that’s good…she will be relieved that her stepping in worked…she couldn’t come thru herself thanks to the wards but I can since…well, that doesn’t matter now”

Serena sadly hadn’t been wearing a seatbelt and had ended up flying into the front seat, partly thru the front window. The van that hit them opened their doors and three men in masks jumped out. They walked towards them and Serena tried to sit up. She saw them coming and said “crap…”

The young man turned, his bright silver eyes shining as he held up his hands. “Whoa Aunt Kay hold on! I’m a friend. I won’t be here long. The spell doesn’t last long. I just needed to check on Uncle John to make sure he was alright?”

Serena looked up at him and said “Chas we may not get a choice. We can’t let him get John no matter the…” she suddenly jumped up and grabbed the wheel, turning sharply to the left. Right at that moment a van came out of no where and hit the cab from the side, the cab spinning out of control and slamming into a light post. If Serena hadn’t grabbed the wheel, Chad would have been hit straight on.

John was still passed out, but by the bed stood a young man with dark hair. He was checking johns vitals and muttered “good…his still alive. She will be relieved. Now just need to warn mom…”

Serena nodded weakly and sat up a little. “What if I went after him? Just to find out what he knows?”

Trish nodded and moved to be on the floor again. The steps were still going upstairs

Trish frowned and said “because I hear steps upstairs. Do you not hear them?”

Serena nodded and said “I wouldn’t call him that…we didn’t break up…he saved my life by giving his…I had forgotten what the rage felt like, just like finding Kay in the tunnels…all control is gone…”

Trish smiled then looked up at the ceiling. “John shouldn’t be awake right?”

Dante was sniffing the air and said “I don’t smell blood…so I don’t think we are walking into a battle scene…it’s almost like they all ran away or are locked away somewhere. Oleander? Can you see anything from up there?”

Bane held up a hand and said “they won’t know I’m there. I am the shadows. Just take care of Serena while I’m gone. Don’t let her go into a fight or anything. She won’t be as strong without me there to back her up.” He vanished into the shadows once more. Serena held onto Josh and said weakly “I haven’t been that mad since…since Darren died…”

Trish blinked and looked over. “Ya I’m okay. Just thinking…I don’t like when the puzzle pieces don’t fit…”
